  1. Green is actually my favorite color but the way Hitachi molds things into strange organic shrilly messes is horrible.... on the flipside there's Porter Cable's 20v subdued colors and overly Millennium Falcon look that is equally hard too like. But looks aren't what matter to me(you should see my wife lololol JK).
  2. My experience with Hitachi power tools is mostly with their miters saws and they are fantastic. I personally like em better than the similarly equipped Bosch and DeWalt saws I've used, once you get past the god awful plastic flair!
  3. Been looking at the pick a while and still don't see what your talking about..... (.Y.)
  4. First rule of fight club...... Shhhhhh
  5. LOL does it matter if they are any good? Dude 3.7 cents a blade yo!
  6. I have no first hand experience with this model however I have the DCD780, DCD985, and DCD791 ALL the chucks work flawlessly, however my uncle has a DCD790 and it won't hold a drill bit for more than a few holes without the bit falling out. Have your friend run 20-30 holes with it to ensure a good lock on the chuck. My experience with DeWalt Impacts is nothing but positive going back around 10 years with their first Li-ion 18v model to currently owning 2 DCF887s and a DCF886.....
  7. There is a known issue with the battery fuel gauges especialy with 2013-2014 versions where the would fail to display the correct charge remaining but the packs still work fine but it appears that is solved, unfortunatly there is no why to know until it happens.
  8. For a corded drill I'm a fan of Bosch, but to be honest I've mainly only used a hammer and SDS for the past 10ish years so I'm skewed towards the big ones with a cord, when I just need to make pretty lil holes I use one of my cordless DeWalts.

    Humm let's see, janky 1.3, 1.5, & 3.0, XR 2.0, 4.0, 5.0, & 6.0, and FV 2/6 and 2/9... did I miss any?
  10. I'm sure your Chinese tools work great!!! (jab jab stiring the pot lololololol)
  11. Maybe it's because they use slide packs but I'm liking the Makita CXT 12v stuff. They are on my short list of a possible addition to my tools.
  12. Wow a 12v line that's actually smaller than DeWalt's lolololol
  13. I wish! I live in a city, but only have 1 Walmart near by.
  14. Allen is to hex wrench as Kleenex is to tissue. I imagine the name will always stick regardless.
  15. Ya I know, other than my local store, closest other Walmart is about 25 miles away, not worth my time for something I'm mearlly mildly interested in.
  16. Can't disagree with your logic, it's just not for me.
  17. It's really thin metal, my Walmart sold out of em @$50 I considered looking one at another store but figured drive vs savings vs need didn't really add up for me, if one was in stock I probably would have impulse bought.
  18. Hate to say it but killing the brand kills the warranty obligation too, I can't see paying the premium price. Unless they are sold for fire sale prices I'm not going to be an owner.
  19. Menards, Sears, ABC Supply and Amazon were mentioned by name as top retail partners. Menards seems to have the better pricing and often put them on sale in their made in the USA sales, but they always seem to only have the old style, plain grips in stock. I might be mistaken but I thought they told me that all their snips have the newer Kushn' Grips now. Which I found kinda interesting that the grips get installed at the packaging part of the line, I guess there really isn't anything wrong with that but in my mind I half expected to see them installed a step or so sooner. Another cool little tid bit is all of their swag is made in the USA too, they gave me a couple t-shirts, a hoodie and tote(made locally) all printed at a local screen printer.

  21. Humm seems to work fine on a few different devices I've tried.... I'll post links a bit later
  22. I knew what you ment, but yes batteries can explode, no you don't have to handle them like eggs but ask any Samsung phone owner if they truly feel safe.?
  23. Might as well have....... Lions fan here, unfortunately.... I digress.......
  24. Midwest is literally 45 mins from my house and last summer I took a tour of their factory. Just a couple of take aways I had: 100% made in the USA including materials and machines used in manufacturing. 4 of 6 main suppliers are within 20 miles of their location with the other two being from Chicago and New York sate. Quality control is present in every step and parts can be rejected by anyone for any reason even if they pass machine inspection. Every snip is tested to cut cheese cloth. OEM to many Major brands(I cannot disclose which ones but you might have paid too much for some brands names) US is their largest market but are the #1 selling snips in Australia and are seeing major growth in Asia.
