  1. It took longer than what the directions said it would but seems like it always does. Some of the steps seemed odd like hammering on a socket to remove a metal post. I am kinda underwhelmed with the final product. The amount of vertical travel is maybe 1/4 in to 1/2 in. I would have liked some more travel especially for straight bits but maybe it won't be a huge deal.
  2. I finally got around to installing my Router Raizer router lift kit designed for routers that are incompatible with your typical router lift. I had an old Porter Cable I got from my uncle who used to own a cabinet shop. Installation was alright.
  3. Not necessarily. Some tools that would be hard to live without Festool pioneered/invented. Orbital, random orbital, and plunge/track saws to name a few.
  4. The embargoes on the new gen 3 Ego mower just lifted today and all the videos are out about this mower. It has dual blade system, new brushless motor with 7 ft lbs torque, updated lights with on/off switch moved to the handle. and new self propelled controls. Comes with the updated 7.5 battery or in bare tool.
  5. Interestingly enough the town with the Ace near me is one of the larger cities in Nebraska. 30,000+ people. No Home Depot though. Menards is all over though. There are at least 3 within 50-100 miles of where I live. The nearest Lowes is 2 hour drive via interstate. My tiny town of roughly 3000 used to have an Ace but it changed names/ownership. The nearest Home Depot is roughly 45 miles away.
  6. You could also look at the Felder Format 4 with PCS. It has finger saving tech but doesn't require changing out blades or cartridges.
  7. @Bigmikez I see the same as Jimbo
  8. @Framer joe if you are talking flexvolt tools that perform towards the bottom of the list then there is really only the recip and gen 1 flexvolt blower. Power wise every flexvolt tool I have used has been great. Feature wise they were nothing special but they got the job done without throwing a fit. I have seen a couple flexvolt tools lose in videos to other tools but who knows how fair the tests were. I personally haven't had a flexvolt tool go bad but I have had 2 of the 2/6 batteries and one gen 1 fast charger if that counts. Do you think the new 40v SkillSaw wormdrive has a chance to compete with the DCS577? From what I have seen it is basically a tried and true mag 77 with a battery and an updated motor.
  9. Come to think of it I did see some craftsman ope awhile back but I just figured it was Sears Craftsman. Makes sense that it was the SB&D Craftsman
  10. I was going through my Youtube feed and stumbled across this video. I have never seen anything like it. The guy shows off an assembly setup specifically design to assemble. cabinets. It seemed to have just about anything a guy needs to assemble a cabinet. I thought it was really cool and wanted to share it. @JimboS1ice @rrich1 @ChrisK @Eric - TIA
  11. The product page on Milwaukees website should be able to tell you the capacity.
  12. I am upgrading/rebuilding my rolling workbench. It is my take on a Paulk/MFT style workbench.
  13. I built some custom rolling Systainer carts to store systainers and small parts. I call them Small Function Carts or SFC for short.
  14. I recently found out Ace hardware became an authorized Ego retailer in addition to Home Depot. I think this is big for Ego. Before you had a few mom and pop stores, and Home Depot that were authorized but to add another well known retailer is a nice move for Ego. I decided to get an Ego snowblower there. The price was better than Home Depot and I only had to drive 20 miles to get it vs 45 if I got it from Home Depot. The guy who helped me get it said they just started selling Ego in the spring of this year. He told me he had already sold over 100 Ego snowblowers.
  15. I noticed Menards is now selling SB&D's Craftsman lineup. Hand tools, mechanics tools, power tools, tool storage (including VersaStak), and maybe ope (I didn't specifically check the ope section for Craftsman but I'm sure there is some there).
  16. 3 speed switch that works with the variable speed trigger and less vibration are the only changes I know of. Power should be as good as the 355. It won't beat some of the cordless starlock options like the 18v Supercut or the 18v Vecturo, but those are next level.
  17. I heard there are improvements to vibration. I don't know about more power. It is an improvement to the 355 but not the one I had hoped for. There was a patent I seen awhile back that was almost like a combination of starlock and the open ended universal fit blades used on the DeWALT. Compatible with both systems and everything. That is what I wanted to happen. Also a head that is dampened for vibration like the Fein and Festool would have been nice for less noise and vibration.
  18. The resin talk is fine. I like resin tables. The kind of router bit you are looking for is a spoil board bit. I wouldn't go any cheaper than $100 for one. It may seem like a lot of money but to get a reputable brand you will pay close to that or more. The ones with the removable carbide cutter heads are more expensive but your essentially getting 4 times the life of a regular carbide bit because you can rotate the cutters 4 times before replacing/resharpening.
  19. They are probably on clearance because of the Christmas season.
  20. It really depends on the vac. All will clog eventually but some perform better than others when they have dirty filter.
  21. hmm not sure what the issue is. I had some of mine refuse a charge which DeWALT replaced free of charge. If the chainsaw is the issue then it might not be a bad idea to have the chainsaw looked at. It has affected the batteries internally.
  22. Well I might just stay home. Seems like the brands I buy are excluded in the sales.
  23. The new premium DeWALT omt has both a variable speed trigger and a 3 speed switch
  24. There is a new 4.0 compact (5 cell) battery coming from Festool. I heard it will be using 21700 cells. No word on a 21700 for the 10 cell battery packs. An impact driver is coming next year. I don’t know any more info about it. Both products are Europe releases. I don’t know if they will come to North America.

    DW735 Refurb

you should be able to easily remove the top cover which should allow you to see what exactly is causing the bind up.
