  1. @tugnut1 Does the plaster have Asbestos?
  2. I wonder how this one will compare to the m12?
  3. I found this in Acme Tools website. Estimates a July 15th ship date. http://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/new-tools/dewalt-dcc020ib
  4. Depends on the task. If you are putting heavy load on the saws then the DeWALT should be more power efficient therefore having longer runtime.
  5. I didn't realize how close in size the Flex 9/3 is to the m18 9.0. the Flex even has larger cells. I guess the Flex is either not as big as people put it out to be or the m18 is bigger than people put it out to be. I wonder why the Ryobi is so big? You could almost fit bigger cells or even an extra cell without even increasing the size. I felt the Ridgid was a bit bulky as well but from the times I have used Ridgid I remember Ridgid being easier to remove than the battery on m18 tools I have used. I think the tapered release buttons on the Ridgid help a lot in removing the battery.
  6. Ryobi is arguably the best diy brand out there but it is still diy which means the precision and tolerances are not going to be to the level of my DeWALT and Festool stuff. Some tasks are almost more time and cost effective with the higher end machines.
  7. The reason I don't buy Ryobi is because I preffer higher end brands.
  8. My current work shoes are ready to replace. Are Keen worth getting?
  9. I'm not sure but I know that the chuck is made in house.
  10. That was one thing I liked about Ridgid was the extra buttton activate the light.
  11. I felt like Ridgid tools were a bit bulky and the selection of tools seemed small compared to other brands even though it may have had tools other brands don't have.
  12. I got into m12 mainly for the stapler. It was a tool that impressed me at nps17. I felt for a battery stapler it was quite compact and seemed like it would be very handy. It may have some flaws but overall it is a good tool. Also at $150 for the kit, I felt it was a great deal unlike m18 which along with Makita seems to have a premium price vs some other pro brands. I also was gifted an m12 coat which is good. I picked it over my primary battery platform (DeWALT) because I felt like the m12 battery would be slightly more comfortable than the 20v packs, it had pocket warmers which are what I primarily use, and at the time of purchase it had a free battery deal. If I were to decide to get more 12v stuff I would probably stick with m12. I don't have plans to get into the line any further but I have toyed with the idea. I don't mind multiple battery platforms but I would like to keep it to a minimum.
  13. Nice. You going to also get the Flex worm style saw?
  14. or when it is coming.
  15. I just wish the events were more of a big deal like Milwaukee NPS. With NPS you know it happens every year and happens in May. I'd like DeWALT's to be more consistent. I don't like having the event in June one year then August another.
  16. I didn't have much experience with power tools growing up. My dad had a corded craftsman drill and circular saw then replaced the drill with a cordless Black and Decker. I don't think he had any other power tools back then that I can remember. In high school we had various DeWALT cordless drills and I liked them. This was probably my first experience with DeWALT. Then in college they had DeWALT as well. A guy was asking me about tools I needed and I thought a drill would be nice to have. He asked if I was going to get a DeWALT and I figured I probably would. I didn't have much knowledge on anything else. Maybe a week later after he talked to me he shows up to my house and gifted me a DeWALT drill/impact set. I have stuck with the DeWALT line since. I have since gotten into Ego for my ope needs and I have 2 items from the m12 line but I am not really looking at anything else in the m12 line right now. I plan to get into Festool soon.

    Stolen tools

lock them to the Bosch gps rotary hammer haha. Not only does it have gps but it is big and heavy. Who wants to steal something big and heavy? I haven't had any tools stolen but I know a couple guys who had tools stolen and both were Milwaukee guys. Maybe the "because they are red" theory is actually a thing?
  18. the gen 2 m18 recip is as good as the flexvolt but when you factor in all the extra features it beats the Flexvolt. Performance wise the x2 is slightly faster than the gen 2 m18. Is the x2 faster than the orbital Bosch or Ridgid offerings? I'm not sure but if something is to beat the x2 it is probably going to be the m18 super sawzall. I would guess the m18 super sawzall is the best performer out there.
  19. I'd imagine a slide pack 12v max tool to be like the m12 but with a 6.0 instaled.
  20. The first, hopefully annual, Festool Connect Canada starts tomorrow. Anyone excited? Any predictions? I haven't heard if any new tools will be unveiled but will cool nonetheless. I wonder if SawStop, Tanos, and Shaper will be there.
  21. I would have liked to see an increase in rpm of the gen 3 drills. 2000 rpm is nice but when some others have over 3000 it is slow in comparison. They claim it is faster in high demand applications but I felt they didn't address low demand applications. I feel like the 2000 rpm is a bottle neck. It has so much power that it can drill something like a 1/2in hole with ease on high speed. I feel like it could easily handle the extra 1000 rpm. On the gen 3 impact driver I would have liked to see more leds. Almost every premium brand has at least 2 leds on their impacts now. I wish they would have released a version of the m12 multi-chuck drill that you can get in Europe. It would have been so handy.

    Toolnut

I don't know if this is a good deal or not but DeWALT's old brushed 20v max grinder is on sale for around $82 bare tool.
  23. Crescent wrench, Channellock, Vise Grips?
  24. I have the new Bosch bits in the new case system they came out with not too long ago. They have been good so far. A huge step above the cheapo bits many guys have.
  25. They also unveiled a bigger flexvolt rotary hammer. Not sure if it is out yet.
