  1. I got some of this from Menards. Going to try and use it to removes some wood stain and finish from a bookcase I want to refinish. Hopefully it will mean less sanding. Supposedly you leave it set for a bit then you scrape it off with a dull putty knife so you don't gouge the wood.
  2. How much do people even use rafter hooks?
  3. I was trying to see where the 3 drawer would be available in North America and I could only find it listed on UK sites. Hopefully this comes to North America. Supposedly the new 2 drawer is coming first of July.
  4. I have the Flexvolt, it does the job. A rafter hook could be nice but I don't mind not having it. I tend to set the saw on the ground anyways so it is not really needed. I find the shoe is excellent. It is worthy of being on a high demand tool. Toughest shoe of any recip in my opinion. I don't use adjustable shoes so that is not an issue for me. The other guys have adjustable shoes and I feel like they aren't as beefy and strong as the Flexvolt. I like the 4 way chuck but I don't think it should be on a high demand recip saw. It makes a lot of sense to be on the brushless compact recip and I am glad they decided to keep it on the compact recip. My reason for not wanting 4 way chuck on a high demand recip is because when I think of a high demand recip I think big saw with orbital. I don't know how orbital could work with the 4 way chuck unless you only use orbital when the blade is in the vertical position. DeWALT's next attempt at a high demand reciprocating saw needs orbital just to even think about competing with the other guys.
  5. Makita used to have a brushed version but this must have replaced it because it is no longer sold.
  6. looks like an updated model. nice to see it in brushless now.
  7. @DiverDn with the new brushless m18 jigsaws coming out you might want to wait for them to arrive. I have heard great things about barrel grip jigsaws so maybe that would be a better option than the d handle jigsaw? I haven't used a barrel grip personally.
  8. Some might slip past quality control or somehow before/after it got into the users hands loses the ability to work properly when it shouldn't. Thats my guess to why some have theirs work great and others not so great.
  9. Any of that German engineered Green in the horizon?
  10. I ordered a Tajima chalk line off Amazon today. My cheap chalk line broke had its string break and after some research on the one I had I decided it was not worth fixing because the line was prone to breaking.

    DS400 New

I have since made a new plan. I am going to try out the new drawer units. I want to try out both the 2 and the 3 drawer units. Hopefully they will fit in my trunk. Whichever one I think will work better in my car will stay in my car then the other will stay in my garage. I might get a couple more for the garage if I like them enough.
  12. The reviews on the Ego website for whatever reason are not specifically for this mower. Many of the reviews and questions are from years ago. It is a new enough to where it hasn't gotten into reviewers hands yet. A dual battery setup should be more efficient than a single battery setup. I would expect slightly more runtime when using 2 batteries in a dual battery setup over using 2 battery in a single battery serup because the 2 batteries can share the load.
  13. Milwaukee and DeWALT have both tools but in my opinion Makita is the best option. DeWALT has two trimmers you will want to look at. The 20v and the Flexvolt. The 20v trimmer works with any 20v or Flexvolt battery but the Flexvolt trimmer only works with Flexvolt batteries. The Flexvolt is the better trimmer in my opinion but it can't use 20v batteries but you drill will be able to use both 20v and Flexvolt batteries. The Milwaukee trimmer is kinda in the same boat as the Flexvolt but not quite. Like the 20v trimmer you can use any m18 battery with the m18 trimmer but like the Flex it will benefit from using a specific battery. In Milwaukee's case you will want the 9 ah or 12 ah batteries. The Makita doesn't need specific batteries to get full benefits of the tool. Many Makita kits come with 5 ah batteries which are a good size for any 18v and x2 tool Makita offers. I suggest you get Makita's multihead system. It is part of the x2 platform . The main feature of this tool is you can change out the head. If you need to use a string trimmer you can attach the string trimmer head. Is a tree or bush needing trimmed? There are pole saw and pole hedge trimmer attachments available as well.
  14. My guess is it is considered a design flaw yet not something covered under warranty. Still worth a shot to see if Milwaukee will repair it.
  15. I would have to say Tough System in particular the wall rack is one of DeWALT's best tools. I really like being able to organize most of my tools in modular boxes which means I have a place for everything instead of having stuff thrown in a box with zero organization. The boxes are stackable and fit on racks for added storage, organization, and mobility. The wall rack not only allows my tools to have a place but all the boxes the tools are stored in to have a place without adding mess to my garage. Also the wall rack is efficient. If I need to grab a box real quick for work or something I go to the rack slide the box I need off and put it in the vehicle. No need to take other boxes off a stack because any box can come off the rack no matter what position it is on the rack. When I am ready to return the box I slide it back onto the rack and it is out of my way and organized.
  16. https://egopowerplus.com/collections/power-self-propelled-mowers/products/power-21-self-propelled-lawn-mower-w-2-5-0ah-batteries-rapid-charger I have found a new Ego Mower that uses a dual battery system. All the others use single battery. It utilizes Ego's PeakPower technology which is basically Ego's way of utilizing both batteries at the same time to make the tool more efficient and increase runtime. The snowblower is the only other tool Ego offers that has PeakPower. Right now it only comes in a dual 5 ah kit, with self propelled, and composite deck. I would like to see a self propelled steel deck option with a true side discharge on the side like the other steel deck Ego mowers. The Ego steel deck mowers are more pro oriented in my opinion than the composite. The composite mowers have a side discharge but it is via the back and not the side which to me it not a true side discharge. I would also like to see an option of a bare kit and a dual 7.5 or if/when a 9 ah comes out a dual 9 ah kit. I heard a 9 ah is in the works but I haven't heard anything since.

    x2 chop saw

Makita has a new x2 chop saw for cutting metal. Not sure if it is coming to North America or not.
  18. HD also sells Bosch and Porter Cable. Not sure about in stores but online for sure. Lowes does sell Hitachi, Bosch, and Kobalt but I could see the heavy emphasis on SB&D I would rather they cut Porter Cable batteries all together and just have 2 options: DeWALT for pro/bargain pro tools and B&D for diy tools. Craftsman would go higher end diy to compete with Husky and Porter Cable would go bargain pro to compete with Ridgid.
  19. sorry meant to say less than $10 more. Still a great deal considering your getting the 50 in for only 78 cents an inch vs the 24 in for $1.42 an inch.
  20. I bought 8 of the updated Bessey parallel clamps from Home Depot today. I searched all over the web for the best deal and Home Depot was the best deal. Some places were almost double the price. Others had the old model for more than what Home Depot had the new model for. It is sometimes hard to beat Home Depot pricing. The only catch was Home Depot only had the new model available in 2 lengths. Arguably the 24" and 50" are probably one of the better selling sizes if I were to guess. I mostly wanted the 24" but for only $5 more I could get the 50".
  21. I didn't know old plaster had Asbestos until about 2 months ago. Your probably good if it was put in 2000's or later. Can wait to see the garage. If it is anything like your woodworking then I am sure it will be excellent.
  22. I'd get a couple 2.0s then get the rest in 5.0s. 5.0s are usually a better buy than the 6.0s and have plenty of deals on them throughout the year.
  23. Looks to have a few extra features that the m12 does not have. Led light, high volume inflation, and high volume deflation.
