  1. I have instaled 3 since I made this thread. I havent broken any brackets but I wouldn't say I am rough on them either. The one rack I take off a couple boxes to take to work then I put them back on at the end of the day.
  2. Anyone know much about this router I was gifted? I know it is 3-1/4 hp, has plunge base, single speed,, no micro adjust, and no built in dust collection. I'm not sure if there is any dust attachments available for it..It is also discontinued so info on it might be scarce. I have yet to do much research on the router yet. At 3+ hp and around 17 pounds it is a bit much for everyday use. I am trying to figure out a good use for this router. Could it fit in a router table? I also noticed in the base it has places to slide a bar into. Might be for an optional edge guide or guide rail accessory?
  3. I am owner of a Porter Cable 7538 now. It was a gift to me from my uncle. It is the first 3+ hp router I have owned. It will also be the first 3+ hp router I will have used not counting shapers. I was surprised to see he included a Whiteside bit.
  4. Is it not lumber the has a nominal measurement of 3 in?
  5. The drill looks to be better in almost every way. The one thing that concerns me is the cooling. I have noticed the vents look smaller. I thought I seen about them getting hot but I can't find any info to backup what I thought I seen.
  6. I like the pull out tray idea. I would vote for doing it. Could also be used as a spot to do a quick sketch if need be? Could maybe have a spring clip at the top to secure the plans and maybe a grove to hold a pencil or pen? Will you ever need the space you loose from the top drawer if you add the tray?
  7. Different company. It is somewhat of a poor choice on this companies' part. They should have either gone with a different name or different color to not be as confusing to the customer.
  8. Why not have the ability to turn soft start on/off? Brushless tools already have elctronic control it wouldn't be too hard to implement.
  9. Did some markets already have a brushless?
  10. @HiltiWpg what pickup truck gets 43.5 mpg? That sounds amazing. Thats more than my car gets. On another note I have heard the new Fords are very inefficient. Supposedly when they are stopped the engine will stop. Then more fuel is used because of more engine restarts.
  11. Thanks that sounds handy. I don't think we have those over here. I am guessing since it is more than likely not required over here it is most likely more cost effective to not have the feature on North American vacs.
  12. I haven't looked into it but I would guess we have them.
  13. We only get at most 3 dials on Festool vacs in North America
  14. Multi Volt is basically Flexvolt except you can switch between 18v and 36v instead of 18v and 54v? All 18v tools will work with Multi Volt batteries but if I am not mistaken a Multi Volt specific tool only works with a Multi Volt specific battery?
  15. That looks nice but on a side note what is the 4th dial on that vac? I'm guessing one changes suction power, one is on/off/auto switch, and the other changes time between filter cleaning. Maybe the 4th changes length of filter cleaning? or filter cleaning power?

    2x20V lawn mower

If the mower can fit 2 flex and some kits in some countries come with flex why not just upgrade the motor to 60v so the heat issues can be mitigated and the performance can be that much better in taller grass. With the better efficiency of flex, a couple 12/4 batteries would be adequate for the average lawn. I would like to see DeWALT come up with a system that a user can use to switch the mower between 60v sequential and 2x60v. It would have sequential for more runtime and 2x for more power. It would take flex to a new level. Not only would the batteries be Flexvolt but the motors as well.
  17. One correction that is easily missed is Chevron and Chervon are both companies but Chervon makes Skil and Skilsaw (also makes Ego) Another thing is the Emerson Ridgid does make some power tools but it is on a different battery platform which can be confusing.
  18. @ChrisK I like your first design. The storage space above for drills and whatnot seems very useful. One design element I wanted in mine was the ability to access any clamp and yet use a space saving design. So many times you see racks where if you want the clamp in the back you have to take off all the clamps in the front. The 2 extra edges in my second design add about 12 inches each of my space for quick grip style clamps.
  19. I have drawn up a couple M.O.D. (My Own Design) clamp racks that could be used in my garage. I am in need of a rack because storing my clamps on the ground isn't ideal. I am interested in hearing what your guys opinions on the designs are. Design #1 This is a more traditional design loosely based of a space saving design @rrich1 suggested to me but with quite a few design tweaks. This design is simple in design with dedicated spots for my 8 Bessey K-Body Revo clamps and 2 similar style Irwin parallel clamps. The design will hold all my current K-Body style clamps with room for 12 more. The middle edge without the notching will be able to hold my "quick grip" style clamps. The shelf portion will maybe be for small oddball clamps I might get or extra shop storage. I like that the shelf is longer than the second design which could potentially hold a longer oddball clamp. Design #2 This one is not as traditional in design but I think it works. The design feels more interesting and original to me than the first design. This design will also have the same amount of storage for my K-Body style clamps and maybe a bit more for "quick grip" style clamps. Both designs are a bit over 32 inches so I can fall onto studs. The bracing of both designs fall onto studs and the second design has a bit more bracing in the middle that can tie into a third stud. I would expect the second design to be able to hold a bit more weight than the first design.
  20. cooled jacket would be cool
  21. How big a space did he say and what kind of space? If the space allotted for new stuff is lots of shelf space then it might be an indication that the new brushless 12v is coming sooner than we expect? or lots of floor space might mean new larger tools like a flex vac or 10 in flex table saw?
  22. Anyone notice the noise of this saw? I tried the 20v miter the other day for the first time and it is almost a squeal when it cuts. It is louder than most saws. Hopefully DeWALT can fix this problem with the brushless version.
