firefighter4187
They also had that whole point deal where you earned tools, there was no way to make a profit....
DR99
Bethepro.com has a similar thing with the points getting you free stuff. I had no idea they had a forum and stuff like that anyways at tool select. I guess you had to know something was wrong when they didn't cover the Milwaukee Media event a month or so ago. Conductor562
I hate to hear that. Tool select wasn't really my type of site, but the more tool sites the merrier IMO.
Harold Wray
It's ALL about the money! Dan jokes about credit cards maxed out. I REALLY hope this doesn't happen to TIA. They are like family. And you guys are like family.

Eric - TIA
Thanks guys for the kind words. We would like to put an app out and have been talking about it, but not sure with the cost, how much interest there would be. I guess we could do a survey or something. DR99
Yea that's the tough part of making a decision like that is the cost of development worth the risk. It it worth looking into I guess the best bet is to see how many views from the site some from mobile devices I don't know if Youtube also gives stats like that either. All I know is we are moving out of the PC era. Getting an Ipad for my mother was the best thing ever it's cut down on tech support issues so much it's crazy she loves the damm thing. Conductor562
In the interest of stating that which is blatantly obvious, I would buy a TIA app
DR99
Well most app's are 99 cent's or free now anyways. I can't remember the last time I bought an app.
firefighter4187
Some days the apps that are 99 cents become free to show some publicity for it.

Casual Discourse sprung from the ashes of Living With Style when the latter site was taken down in 2008. LWS had thousands of active members, and hundreds of us regulars moved to CD, but gradually drifted away. Now I'll log in and see the occasional thread posted by a longtime member who literally grew up with the two sites (I'm a bit older than most of those who still visit). Time and people change, I guess, and social media has all but killed the appeal of forums for some people.

DR99
I get peoples lives get busy but it sucks not knowing if they are ok or what. Also it is true forms are not the same after the proliferation of social media.
ChrisK
Amen guys. A long list of members have gone long away and it is really sad to see them move on. We’ve got some great members and the forum has waxed and waned over the years but sadly social media is killing the forums.
