Harold Wray
Does anyone know why toolselect.com hasn't had any new video reviews in quiet a while? It seems like a month or so. Am I missing something?
DR99
The Youtube channel still has new videos posted. I never really went to their main page before.

Harold Wray
Thanks DR99. Never thought of looking on YouTube (duhh moment). I agree with you guys. High production (looks like a studio, etc.)
DR99
I try to support them because they are from Michigan so I do want to support them, but it's pretty much a staged high production tool review. I never seen them really bash a tool

Conductor562
I never got into Toolselect. Partly for the reasons DR99 cites and partly because they always struck me as the Wal-Mart of tool blogs. Toolselect and Coptool are nice for looking at new stuff, but I don't put much stock in their reviews.
DR99
Plus the name Barnaby really annoys me for some reason.

Joe M
They are based in Grand Rapids. I have sold tools to a couple of their testers and the tall guy who is like the "expert" has walked around my department a couple of times. Barnaby was like a local personality on one of our news stations. I guess by saying I don't even know if they have a forum, I am saying that I much prefer Tools in Action. Joe M
Tools in action could take some notes in production quality from Mr. Burgess. He may have the nicest looking videos on the internet, maybe its because it always looks drab in the U.K. but I just like how his videos look
wayneburgess
Not being nasty here but tool select is too much like a shopping channel to have and cred
crazyandy
They might have good quality videos but something about them just seems fake and off I dont know what it is
Harold Wray
Now that you mention it, their videos do seem fake and like a shopping channel. Expect to see a timer at the bottom of the screen and a sign that says "3 easy payments".

Jeth
The funy thing is that there ratings never match what they say in the review and Barnady hands are moving like the girls in the price is right annoying

DR99
The only thing is they do get sent a lot of tools that the TIA guys never get review samples of. They had a whole bunch of videos on the Max high psi nailers and such.
crazyandy
They do have a review on a hidden door that looks like a book case that is pretty cool.... I still dont like that host
firefighter4187
Guys I just found out, Tool Select has shutdown.... Barnaby says he is no longer the host on his linked in and they havent had an video/ website update in ages!!
DR99
That's a bummer I had some issues with their format they never really said anything negative about a product. They were based in Michigan and hate too see people lose their jobs. Tools in action runs on a small budget it's just Dan and Eric. Tool Select had a whole studio and staff that costs money and you really need to have the advertising revenue to support it. I really think TIA should put out an android and IOS app even if it's just a skin for the forums and youtube videos.
