firefighter4187 Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 DeWalt has a hot glue gun out, it would have made sense if they made a cordless version for the 8v line..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsW-ccuurUM Quote
Brien Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Yup... I saw that at Home Depot about a month ago and bought it. I don't know why. I have never used it. And that is all I have to say about that. Quote
Conductor562 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Glue gun is a nice addition, but I agree that an 8V model would have been cool. Wouldn't have lasted very long, but it would have been cool. A 12V version would be workable, though it would work out better with the small Milwaukee pack. Quote
Conductor562 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Ok, I posted before I watched the video. Now I have 2 things to add:1. I have that Arrow model gun in the background2. What's this about a Lifetime Warranty? Quote

DR99 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Bosch has some cordless glue guns on the other side of the pond, but it looks like they have little interest bringing it here. It would be perfect for skill to have it anyways. Quote

There are some interesting products we don't have here. Quote
RedSionnach Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 You guys just wait til Milwaukee comes out with their 18v brushless fuel glue gun. It'll smoke the rest of these!!!! 1 Quote
Javier Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 That would be a great idea to make it a dewalt 8v cordless glue gun Quote

Javier Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 It would be the Milwaukee 8v fuel 100 in 1 glue gun with a multi tool, spork, nail clipper, nose and ear trimmer, wire striper, nail file, fly swatter, butt scratcher, bottle opener, weed wacker, etc all in one tool with bluetooth. 1 Quote

Joe M Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 All Dewalt hand-tools at THD have a lifetime warranty and are supposed to be treated just like a Husky warranty. In fact, Home Depot no longer carries Husky tape measures for this reason as all the Dewalt tape measures are exchangeable in store. That is the company line, your success at each store may be limit as change is slow and most people won't be aware of this. Quote
Conductor562 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Great info Joe. Thanks for sharing. Quote

Quote
Joe M Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I would never take one, my reason being to a customer is that you are not getting a similar quality product at HF. Lowes and Menards stuff all the time, HF is where the line is drawn. Quote
DR99 Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 It's up to the store management some do some don't it's nice if the store around you does because 20% of is freaking nice We just had a Menards open around here and they are matching the 11% rebate offer from Menards now. Quote
Javier Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 My hd is super picky. I know they only accept lowes, ace, orchards and I forgot who the other store is (probably Menard's) so I tried using some printed 15% off coupons from ace and they refused to accept them. Said they won't accept any printed coupons from the net. That sucked. Quote
yamatitan Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 I dont see a 8v battery lasting but maybe a couple of sticks in a hot glue gun. Quote
Brien Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 I used my hot melt glue gun today! I used it to temporarily glue some blocks to some trim to aid in clamping while the "real glue" setup. Tomorrow I will hopefully knock the temporary blocks off. Needless to say the glue gun worked just fine. Quote
Brien Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 So in the video the fella uses it to glue biscuits. I was building some fireplace mantels today and thought, "hey I'll use the glue gun like in the video". That was a bad idea. The working time is instant. I had to plane the hot melt off and use wood working glue. I'll use the hot melt for temporary application where I have a quick working time. Quote
