DPSElias Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I might have gone a little over kill but it should hold up to anythingBeforeDuringAlmost completeSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
comp56 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 nothing wrong with that dude, nice job......I got the same kind of door way into my shop as well, I built mine about 3 feet longer then yours so I could add a couple windows on the sides.....
DR99 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 Better to build it right than have it go wrong later.
kruton Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 My rule of thumb is usually if 2 screws are good, 4 are better so I think it's great!Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
comp56 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 lol it is sad we have one buddy that tips the scales at around 450lbs.....6'8" and about 4' wide......the man is just huge........so when I built my first poker table he broke it, just by leaning on it and bringing his chair closer....I have learnt from that .......nothing is over kill.......I have since built my tables with him in mind
Poisonfangs85 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 No such thing as overbuilt. Looks really good, the house is really coming along. Looks like a lot of lonely nights...been there I feel for ya. Keep it up!
Bigmikez Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 Looks great Don!! Nothing wrong with overkill man.
ChrisK Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 That's gorgeous Don, did you 96 the original door and now just have a single into the basement?
regopit Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Looking good and besides that you are adding more value to your home.Nice job man.
DPSElias Posted October 7, 2015 Author Report Posted October 7, 2015 Thanks guys it's coming along quicker than I hoped (once the siding was started) That's gorgeous Don, did you 96 the original door and now just have a single into the basement? Chris, no I have 2 doors the one in the foundation and the exterior, I have thoughts of insulating the walkout to try and keep the basement warmer, but for now the double door should suffice. The old setup was just a storm door which did not do anything to keep anything out. Plus it has a little more security but don't think I need it with a dead bolt.
