    Remember When?

I don’t remember that but I remember paying .97 a gallon when I first started working rescue. I was driving a ‘74 VW Super beetle, semi automatic transmission back then....
  2. Hey all. Not desperate here but I have two planes for sale, Lie Nielsen Large Open-throat Router plane very LIGHTLY used with two blades, the small router plane blade you’ll need to purchase router plane blade adapter for. The other blade is a large router plane blade that is razor sharp and does not need an adapter. The other is a brand spanking new Veritas Scrub plane with an A2 blade. $100 ea with shipping included, PayPal friends and family only. I will remove them from TIA if I get any bids on them on eBay. The router plane does not come with a box or the adapter, I lost them in the move. Chris
  3. I’ve got one of those sliding TStaks, I am heavily vested in the Systainers and have several Toughsystem boxes but the slider is my at home electrical kit. Works awesome. I have testers, wire strippers, nuts, zip ties, tape...you name it in it. Great box.
  4. I’d love to get that. Great review of the tool too, supposedly a real good alternative for resto work at a decent price. If I saw one that low I’d be all over it 👍
  5. Being a hobbyist woodworker with aspirations of doing cabinetry when I retire...I have a tracksaw, a table saw (Sawstop Contractor cast iron semi permanent) a Festool HKC, a Dewalt Flexvolt and a 7-1/4 Skilsaw sidewinder. The truth is, the circ saw can be retrofitted to cut perfectly straight lines with a simple cheap jig. I feel if I was in the field, my circ and tracksaw would cover many jobs for me in general home repair. I don’t use my super nice table saw to cut 4x8 sheet goods, that’s done on rigid insulation with my tracksaw. The table saw excels at taking broken down sheet goods and hardwoods and cutting them down to perfect size repeatedly and using the dado stack. The nice thing about the track saw is absolutely perfect straight edges, incredible dust control and the saw has a riving knife to keep it from kicking on me. The last time I did fencing was for a good friend at his house. At the time I had a portable table saw and I used both that and the circ for dimensioning rough stock and the circ for cutting down to length. I use my Flexvolt all the time. It’s a great saw, has tons of power. I use my HKC almost as much because of the super slick track that has preset angles and the fact it’s also a circular saw with a riving knife. The Flexvolt is more powerful than the HKC however the ability to plunge, act essentially as a miter and a track saw carries its own value. I know I didn’t answer your question in the last so yeah, go circular but don’t forget that you won’t be stopping there.
  6. Well I won’t be in the market, my 16 Tundra TRD SR5 Crewmax just flipped 10k. I wish I had those LED inserts but alas, my girl is still foxy and gray👍
  7. The LSA for Ridgid is awesome BUT you have to register it the correct way and it only applies to HD purchases. Ridgid makes great tools.
  8. Try backing out the bit every few 1/4s. You probably had finite mdf getting blocked up in the drill bit and hole. I don’t use my impacts to predictll so I cannot comment on the use of an impact but I can on a drill. Typically in mdf using a drill, I drill a little and pull out, drill a little and pull ou, dri....The same goes when using a drill press, forstners are great for channeling sawdust and chips out of the way. Mdf is supper compressed so it’s characteristics are different.
  9. Welcome aboard dude and on behalf of all tool buyers....good for you. It’ll be nice to have someone who wants to know stuff about the expensive tools we purchase!
  10. Welcome to the forums dude.

  13. No, not really being a fanboy outside of Festool I do not take offense, but the nature of this topic is easy to steer away from the point and people tend to get very impassioned about Country, Politics, Religion and tool brands. Let’s keep focused on Will’s original questions and keep tasked to point. Jokes are often misinterpreted by people and that one would be. No worries.
