  1. Ha! You go Wayne! Chris don't lend tools! They tend to get broken! I let my brother use these cool little ratcheting screwdriver I had JUST bought. I am standing next to him and five minutes later the handle is all chewed up and covered in grease! WTH!!! I know I'm anal about my tools but come on! Five minutes?!?! I don't think I could rent out a cordless kit that cost me a $150 or more for a $9-$21 a day! They might get dirty! OR broken!!
  2. Also, this weekend found me adding a door jam extension to my existing jam. I removed the threshold which had I had held down with untreated screws (doh!). Impact gun...bangbangbangbangbang screw out! No can do with a drill! That impact mechanism works just as well in REVERSE!
  3. I agree. I used my new hammer yesterday for some light assembly and it is just a "nice" feeling tool. I registered the tool for the lifetime warranty which made me smile. I don't think I'll leave it in a flooded basement though! Seriously though, awesome job with the planer. When my Dad moved down to Florida (flat swampy alligators snakes scorpions poisonous spiders and annoying people) he left me his old Craftsman American made circular saw. I spent some time cleaning it up and replaced the cord and the tool works great. In the condition it wasprevious to that I could not use it. I was happy to save it cause it was Dad's PLUS the feeling of fixing an old tool really was rewarding. Not NEARLY what you did Wayne, but I bet that rewarding feeling feels wicked nice!
  4. I think your right Conductor! We have a local store here called Brocks. They do sell some Hitachi cordless and USED to sell Panasonic. The Hitachi stuff is a lot of the pod style lithium. I wish they could expand the line and put the Panny's back on but they share a parking lot with HD. You never see advertisement for Hitachi though Lowes seems to sell some but not a lot. I have to admit that Hitachi is a great all around hammer drill kit and although I don't need any more tools in the 18v category, I will continue to look!
  5. Yeah. I actually like the looks of the white tools too. I just sold some I bought on eBay. Winded takes the grease right off. The blue green, I know they come with the high cap batteries but the color is weird. My Milwaukee Fuel impact is sweet looking and the controls are easy to manipulate. I know Hitachi isn't popular but that brush less hammer tool is really cool looking, not to mention awesome! Eight power levels! 8! That allows incredible control! Plus files alien green awesome!
  6. True on that one! The nice thing about Makita is the glow ring on the end of their impactor. Of course my Milwaukee has that Huge while Milwaukee logo on the side. I never saw that kit for sale over here, just online over eBay. But they did look awful sweet!
  7. Besides. Did you guys see the Makita line when they had their anniversary black. Those tools looked cool!
  8. I'm all for black, Conductor. You know what the ladies say...once you go black, there ain't no going' back!
  9. Amen to that. We had to put a beef restriction on her. So sad And as far as Bosch goes! Come on guys! Why dont you release them here too! Although I saw a fashion video of Bosch work clothes being released in Europe! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Man! I pee'd myself laughing! Capri's? Capri's? Who the heck wears Capri's that stands up in the bathroom? Still I have the Bosch PS360D Jobsite Radio! No Capri wearing there Mister! I cannot wait to see their newest tool line come out! That looks really sweet! Tons of torque, brushless, 4.0Ah batteries!!!!!
  10. Yeah, I am hoping to see it come to HD. My two stores have stopped carrying the 454 so maybe it will be showing up soon? Regardless, my first compact set was the Makita 10.8. I sold it. Awesome tools, no battery expansion, no other tools. Now they have added the wrench, circular saw, flashlight, vacuum and jigsaw, but it took forever and like,e Bosch (which blows my mind) no serious battery expansions. I have the M12 multi tool and rotary tool (and now the hammer drill) with a ton of 1.5 batteries and a 3.0 battery. Still you have to wonder why Makita is doing what they are doing. They seemed to be on fire for quite a while and now...
  11. Hahahaha. Poor Rosie. She's gotta stop at some point
  12. Hey Conductor! My only Makita tool is the Hypoid Mag saw. I absolutely love it! You are dead on about the press on this. The first I even heard about it was on Craigslist. A guy had the combo for sale about two months ago. I had never heard of it and went to Makita USA to figure it out. I was REALLY surprised that the tool was not brush less. For the cost you might think it was. My brother has a Makita BHP452 that he absolutely loves (I bought it for him) but I have to admit Milwaukee seems to be my preference (plus that Brush less Hitachi!) No fuel gauges, limited brush less tech, maybe they are just fizzling out after all of this tech from other manufacturers, not able to catch up?
  13. Hey! Thanks for removing the spam! That is wicked quick!!! You guys are awesome!
  14. Wow, I'm not much for yellow but anyway you cut it, maybe I should try em out! Awesome job!
  15. What is up with these meatballs!?! Handbags?!? Seriously dude!?! Handbags!?! Conductor you've got a really good point with the Fuel drill. I'm curious too because the brush less tools don't seem to be to the same level as other manufacturers. Also, I used to have the BHP454. Nice drill but the thing was as long as a 74 Cadillac! Brush less allows a more compact tool. And I agree with Wayne, not a bash on Makita but smoking tools is not cool! Especially when your dropping two bones on them! I would really like to try Metabo out, problem is, mail order is the only way so you can't even go to the store to play with them but the stats are really impressive! Now if you will all excuse me, the last email has really made me want to go out and buy a handbag that will match my skirt. I'll just hop in the Prius and check back later...hahahahahahaha!
  16. Yup, that 4.0 was a good motor! Biggest problem up here is salt = rust and oil. But if you get a good one they last forever. And they hold their value like nobody's business! But on the other hand my brother has had FOUR jeeps. None very good. So the cheeky bas#$%& buys a Prius!
  17. Oh yeah. This summer, I discovered a fluke in my cruiser. I parked at a my office, dropped some paperwork off to my secretary. Went out to my car. Wouldn't start. NHSP wrecker picked up my cruiser brought it to the state garage...DROPPED A VALVE! Blew the motor! My care is an '06 with a 120k on it. Total fluke. We have about 250 of these cars and this is the second time its happened. Dodge / Chrysler was great, they replaced the motor at no cost as it was determined that there was a Q&C issue. Anyways, I'm in a spare car for TWO MONTHS! Waiting for my new motor. I got the car back in October. I'm driving home at the end of my tour, first day with my car, windows down, 50° outside, going under an over pass. Couldn't help it..hit the gas. Wow! That sound is just cool! I got off duty, big smile on my face and my wife says "looks like somebody got his baby back"! V8 are the Chuck Norris of vehicles!!!!
  18. I had the older 5.7l V8 Hemi. Around town in that truck I was getting 11-13. I just went for a ride and the grocery shopping. Just got home and I was averaging 18.7 in town. Traffic lights, pedestrians, traffic. But if I got up on it I would probably be getting around 15 to 16. I kind of drive like an old lady though. My work car has the Dodge 5.7l V8 Hemi (Dodge Charger) with a special computer chip in it and I average about 21-25 mpg but if I hit the gas in that thing my mileage goes down to about 14. However, the sound it makes....and the smile it brings.... I'm sure the environmentalists hate my guts when that sweet sound is hit! But who cares! I will say that the new cruisers (Dodge Charger) they are issuing out have the new 300+ HP V6 but the mileage is A LOT better. Still my work car has 425 HP and goes 0-60 in or under 5 seconds. It is scary because at high speed it actually outruns the sound it makes!
  19. Wayne, although I drive a Chrysler product;Dodge Ram, I am not a big fan of the Jeep. Check the frame rails REALLY CAREFULLY for rust. Find out where the guy drove, if he off roaded I would be really careful. Those trucks are solid but because they can take a beating they normally get beaten! Check for signs of oil leakage too! On to the 4.7 V8. I have had two of those engines in my Dodges. My 2012 Ram has the 4.7 V8 SIX speed. My other ram, a 2005 had the 4.7. My dealer told me that the motor is solid. He said the 4.7 V8 is one of the best. Mechanics love them because of the ease of parts and maneuver ability. The power ratio in my old one was great, the newer one is even better. I have never had a mechanical problem with that motor. Couple that with the Jeep's light weight that is a lot of power. Fuel mileage in my old one was about 18-19 mpg highway. Local not so good maybe 15? My 2012 is 21/22 highway. Really look closely at it, if you have a mechanic friend have him look at it and find out how easy it is to get parts in the UK. I will tell you now that in the US the resale value of ANY Jeep is one of the best! If your going to use it to mess around with and the price is right...? Might be worth it! On a personal note,my Mom had a 1987 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0 V6. The truck never showed rust until she got rid of it back in 2003. That truck saw four boys driving it and learning how to drive. Solid vehicle.
  20. Thanks Wayne. I think I'm actually a woman when it comes to this. Should see the deal I got on my Ram! Do you guys have home depot there or is it really an American / Canadian thing?
  21. Yeah, I'm still himming and hawing over it. I've got a brush less 18v impact and hammer. But at the end of the day,, my tools go outside with me in the spring through summer and spend most if not all of their days in my workshop. The battery life is great as is the torque but the M12 is definitely going to fill my needs. Enough said, I'm keeping it! To good a price for an awesome compact tool!
  22. Shittsburgh! Hahahaha! Although geographically located in close proximity, the City of Shittsburgh is known not for industrial might but rather for the ability to turn human waste into political rhetoric. Hahahaha God I am funny!
  23. Yup! Call HD customer service or chat, ask them if they will take a Harbor Freight coupon. My coupon was for one item and it doesn't exclude Milwaukee! I chatted online with HD and they said they would accept it ONLY if it is not expired. My intention was to buy it online and pick it up in the store but if I did this I could not pay the difference with cash. So I called my local store and she confirmed what HD online said! Also the maximum discount is $200. I came up with this idea not on my own, I have always used Lowes coupons there, but rather on a Google search. Give it a try!!! Also go to you local HD. I checked online and the online price is their normal price. My local store is clearly just dumping products to make way for the Fuel. The prices were not listed as yellow clearance items though so I could use the coupon on it! The router table was still $99 but when I used the HF coupon, $20 off!
  24. I wish! No these are the red lithium M12 not the brushless. I have the brush less M18 Impact. I figured for the price I paid for the Hammer there is now way I could pass that up. I figure I will sell this one on eBay and then use those proceeds for the Brush less one when it comes out. Truthfully though...the brush less version is going to cost almost the same price as the brush less 18v drill! You think its worth it?
  25. Yup! Back of my TOH magazine, as long as the coupon is not expired you should be all set. I spoke with HD customer service online and they take it there. I then called HD in Rochester and they took it! So, I just went back, bought the M12 hammer drill kit for $89. I also used another TOH magazine harbor freight coupon...$72 for a BRAND NEW M12 HAMMER DRILL! I am one happy dude! I was wrong on the drill driver kit, that is still $99. The impact gun is $79 but I did not have the cash
