  1. Oh...unquestionably! Now...how do I get my wife.to approve that!?!?
  2. So...here is my question for the day. I have a hole in my pocket (better than my head) and I want to expand my bench tool line. Planer or Jointer? I checked out Tyler tool and they have a couple of reconditioned units and I am curious where to go. I've got a Bosch power hand planer already. Thanks for the help!
  3. Good for you!!!!!! Milwaukee!!! Ararararar. Power!
  4. Hi Oz. My recommendation... If you have Ridgid tools and like them HD is selling their newest X4 Drill with charger and one battery pack for $99 online. It has the lifetime warranty IF YOU REGISTER IT AND IF YOU BUY IT FROM HOME DEPOT!!!! That's the way and only way (according to Ridgid) to get the warranty! If you check the reviews and Tools in Action as Tool select.com it gets great reviews. By staying with Ridgid you can keep the impact and expand your cordless line in the future. Ridgid does make good tools. Now...if you want to say screw it and switch tool lines, I have Milwaukee M18 and M12 tools as well as some Bosch 12v tools. Like you, im a weekend warrior but I do love tools and cordless is the way to go! Stay with Lithium batteries - no memory effect. If the end result is based on price though, I would stick with you line and buy that drill with the Lt warranty! I'm not sure where (USA or other country) you live but I hear quite a bit of good about Metabo, problem in my area...no one sells them!
  5. As far as those returns go, seems people do those one job shots, return it at and HD resells the tool at a very small discount. Bought one once, won't make that mistake again! I've returned tools before but not with blatant abuse, just did not like the tool. Sometimes people can be real shisters!
  6. Good luck with those. I've got the M18 Fuel Impact and love the tool. Three speeds, time of power. I look like a total bad hiney when I pull out the Fuel impact and my other M18 tools. Can't wait to try the M12 Fuels out.
  7. See Wayne, I wish they sold Metabo over here. I've never seen them at any of our stores, even Hitachi is tough to find outside of Lowes. I'd love to try one out.. Now that milwaukee will be offering the 4.0 battery, I am curious to see if there will be a power increase.
  8. If reused the Makita 10.8 but switched long ago. Compact tool, comfortable but with Milwaukee and Bosch the choice in tools and batteries making a choice a lot easier. I've never used Metabo but I have read and heard of the quality of the line, just not available in NH USA. I currently run Milwaukee M12 tools and Bosch and absolutely love them.
  9. I have to admit, having that speed selector is really nice. Especially when doing delicate work. What it boils down to is I no longer have a 12v impactor. Although that new one from Milwaukee looks awful nice!
  10. Hahaha! Yup we bastardized English! But Russian!?!
  11. HAHAHAHA! Hey Wayne, I'm 25% Italian. If you need to get rid of the problem "I can like make 25% of "the problem" disappear!!!!" Conductor, what can we say? You cannot argue with the "A" Unit (wife) I held a meeting today and I was trying to bring home a point so I said "Ive been in emergency work since I was 18. I am 42 years old now. Ive been shot at, ivestigated heinous crimes, run into burning buildings, so when I tell people to jump, people better jump. When my 5'01" Irish wife says jump, I jump!!!!!" Regardless, I dont lend my tools out to anyone else!
  12. The way I look at it...when I go to a gathering or something like that I am always the Adam Sandler of the group! I dont mean to be funny but hey when people give me something to talk about.... My stories always start the same way... "Guys! You can't make this $hi% up but.." And then there is my compunctual statement... "Sir, I can't fix stupid"
  13. I think it could go either way, and voted as such. I will say that the speed / power setting is nice with an 18v impactor because you can dial it donw so to speak and really limit the torque and impacts in the item allowing you to almost use it like a 12v (My Milwaukee Fuel Impact has the three settings). This is really nice when doing fine work when you are lazy and dont fell like getting a different tool.
  14. Will do guys! I will give them both a try. Sorry about the spelling issues, I normally do these via tablet, I am on my laptop right now and noticed wherever I put Dewalt it substitutes Dealt! Thanks for the input!
  15. You know what? I've been using the black Dealt ones and I have had a few of them break! Its always the fins on the Philips ones! Driving me nuts! I was thinking about trying Milwaukee's.
  16. Hahahahaha. Amen to the Conductor! My brother asks me and being the big brother I feel compelled to say yes. Then my wife, Kat, says "what'd you expect Chris?"
  17. Hahaha. Yup. My Yayyy moment normally involves a visit to the lieutenant
  18. Thank God for that! Good to know the UK is squared away! God knows...I'd kick my own ass if I wore those!!!!!
  19. Amen to that! Impact driver = No impact =
  20. Yup! It's sad but for that reason alone my tools go nowhere! While a friend of mine was in Canada visiting family, I went over to his house and over hauled his front steps, replacing the decking etc. He was so impressed he called me and got the diy bug. Hey Chris, can I borrow your jig saw? Now, I love this guy. He's my best friend, we are both assigned out of the same barracks we even worked together as detectives for the Rochester NH police prior to becoming Troopers and prior to that went to the academy together. To say I trust this guy with my life is an understatement! I looked at my Bosch jig saw and said "you know what, I'll give you my black and decker jig! No way am I lending my Bosch out!!!! He gets a jig and he doesn't ask for my jig anymore!

Only problem...I feel kind of "dirty" when I am waiting in line to buy it.
  22. My Wife bought me a Skills 9.6v NiCad drill. I had that for a couple of years.
  23. Sorry I just saw this. Route 16 Newington NH. There was a radio broadcast. I pulled in to the mall parking lot, I have friends that work in the security department and they have a TV. Watched the second one hit. God Bless those people and their families and our allied troops. I will NEVER forget.
