  1. I need to pick up some of those sometime. I also like the pliers that goes underneath them and lifts them up. I still have my student discount with Matco until the end of the year so that should make the price reasonable or I bet there is a gearwrench version.
  2. No this is at home. We don't have a third of that at the dealer plus for some unknown reason it is all fine thread. All of the bolts pictured are standard thread, they would be of no use at the dealer. I haven't used a standard tool in months now.
  3. We have been using these to store nuts and bolts in. We try to keep a few of each size in stock. We have 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch in various lengths in these. For screws we use either old coffee containers or the regular plastic containers.
  4. If you have a Napa auto parts near you they have lawn and garden batteries on sale from time to time for $20. I'm not sure if the size of them though. If you keep a trickle charger on it when you are done with it for the year it should last a lot longer. Running a battery dead will greatly shorten the life of it.
  5. We repainted our 3 point mower for our tractor and we sandblasted it to remove the old paint and rust. A wire wheeling an angle grinder would get the same results though. For paint we used some paint from tractor supply, I think it was called Majic or something like that. We used a quart and sprayed it with a paint gun but they do have it in a spray can which would work fine for you. I'm not sure how well it keeps the grass off though, we have never worried about it.
  6. I didn't know Bosch had a new compact impact wrench, do you have a link?
  7. I'm looking for a good set of torque sticks for putting wheels on. Do you guys have any reccomendations? I'm mainly looking for an 80, 100, and 120 ft lbs. I'm currently looking at this set but wouldn't be opposed to other options. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000JIYPA4/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?qid=1464646432&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=torque+stick
  8. My grandpa has an older benchtop south bend lathe that I've used some. In high school I took a metal working class and we had a few big jet lathes and we made a few things in there. If I managed to use a lathe without screwing anything up I'm sure you can too. Just go slow and take your time. I think Fazzman is a machinist, I'm sure he will be able to help.
  9. For a motor I would highly reccomend Honda. They make some really good small engines.
  10. My grandpa has a 10kw Onan generator and he hasn't had any issues with it. What size of generator is he looking for?
  11. I was just reading up on that. It had a 6 foot timing chain. If they didn't rush it that would have been a hell of a motor. Cam timing , oiling issues and they didn't beef up the block hurt it too. Imagine what nascar would have been like if they didn't ban it.
  12. That's only because he is off for Memorial Day monday
  13. I completely agree. I think nascar should go back to what it was in the 60s and 70s. They should go back to using relatively stock production cars on the track. All of the cars look the same anymore and they can't be all that different. Without nascar back then we wouldn't have cars such as the Dodge Charger Daytona.
  14. I like drag racing and I'll go to the dirt track races from time to time. A few years ago my dad, his coworker and I went to the nostalgia drag races in St. Louis and it was an absolute blast. They had everything from your everyday street car to some historical drag cars and racers there too. They had some of the old school funny cars there and they would run about 270-280 mph in the quarter mile. You felt it in your chest when they took off. I also met tommy ivo there, he was the one who had the four engine four wheel drive dragster. He was a super cool guy to talk to. If they have the hot rod drag week there again this year I would love to go there for the day.
  15. I bought a 4.0 and a 5.0 m18 battery on eBay and they work great. I agree with jimbo and they take advantage of promotions going on and sell the extra batteries. How often do you see Milwaukee running a free battery promotion?
  16. I'd throw in a set of good jumper cables, the bigger the gauge the better. A flashlight of some sort would be good too. A cheap test light might be a good idea. My fuel pump took a dump on me a couple of years ago and I used a test light to see if it was getting power.
  17. I think you are right. My Sears keeps getting less and less inventory every time I go there. I think Sears days are numbered.
  18. I picked up the m18 led flashlight and also picked up a 10, 13, and 19 mm flex ratcheting wrench. So far the light seems good. I used it for over half of the day and it didn't even use half of the compact battery.
  19. My Home Depot had the 41 inch husky toolbox for $498. It was for the top and bottom too. I don't know if it applies to all stores or not but if you need a bigger box it definitely gets my vote. I liked it way more than the smaller Milwaukee toolbox which is the same price.
  20. You are going to need more than rehab after all you spent. You are going to need to be placed in the rubber room.
  21. You can buy the rails by themselves too. It's only $4 for a 15 inch rail but you have to get the clips separately. They are $9 for 25 clips.
  22. The 17 is 10 1/4 inches, the 14 is 8 3/4 inches and the 10 is 6 3/4 inches.
  23. I got some shiny new combo wrenches today.
  24. I'll measure them in the morning. Do you want me to compare them to a regular wrench too?
  25. My long combo wrenches made it in and so far I'm impressed. I figured I would test out the open end with the no slip design to see how it worked and man do they grip. They didn't slip any and it kept gripping until the head snapped off the bolt. I ordered a few sizes of flex ratcheting wrenches too. They should be here next week.
