  1. I used the fourth mode again today and it actually worked perfectly. I don't know what is up. I'll keep using it and let you guys know if it acts up again. If it keeps working I'll update the review
  2. My snap on flex head ratchet showed up today.
  3. my grandpa bought a new to him car last week and they finally picked it up today. It is a 39 ford deluxe coupe. It still has a flathead v8 and 3 speed floor shift transmission. He is wanting to get new wheels and tires for it and repaint it black too. I can almost guarantee that the engine will get swapped too. Here are some pictures for you guys.
  4. All three of my m18 impacts have a bit of wobble. None have came loose or lost connection though. I imagine they don't want them to have a right fit due to the vibrations getting to the battery.
  5. I figured I would update you guys on how this m18 mini beast is doing now that it has seen a good amount of use. I absolutely love this little guy. It is one of my most used tools if not the most used. I have used this thing on everything from tires to dropping read ends and it has worked flawlessly. Mikwaukee claims 210 ft lbs but I have yet to test the torque on it with my torque wrench but I can tell you they definitely didn't overrate this little guy. The grip is also very comfortable to use whether you are holding it upside down or at pretty much any angle. It is also light enough that I can hold it overhead without an issue even with a 5.0 battery. While we are on the subject of batteries let's talk about the runtime with the 5.0 battery. Last week we had to take out and put new bearings in a rear end for a 2003 explorer and it took out everything except the axle nuts, I used the 2763 for that, and by the time we had the rear end back in the car it still had 3 bars on the battery. It was fully charged when we started. All day runtime shouldn't be an issue for this little guy. The different speeds/modes also came in handy for ensuring I didn't over tighten certian bolts. The fourth mode which supposedly shuts off after one second of impacting doesn't work the best with mine though. The time is way over one second but it doesn't bother me though, I didn't buy it for that feature. That is my only complaint about the impact so far though. So to sum up this review I am highly impressed so far. The impact is almost the same size as an air impact but without the hassle of a hose and is at roughly the same power too. It was time for me to cut the hose and I am happy to report I am not looking back. Pros Powerful All day runtime Lightweight Comfortable Cons 4th mode impacts too long
  6. I really thought that drill would have done better than that but it didn't last any longer than a June frost. Did you even try it in hammer mode.
  7. Your giving it too much credit BMack. We have one at my school and it can be stopped by looking at it too hard lol.
  8. I have the 20 pic set of ratcheting wrenches that I use all the time without an issue. I have some of the 90 degree bent wrenches at home but they are craftsman but I'm almost positive they are the same as a gear wrench. I scored the 90 degree ratcheting ones on sale for a hare over 40. My ratcheting wrenches are in the bottom left and top right of the drawer with the Wera screwdrivers. Guess which Wera gets used the most lol
  9. No not yet. I will probably get one in the next couple of months though.
  10. Here is another video for you guys. We had to remove the rear end on a 2003 explorer and I figured I would shoot a video of me removing the 36 mm axle nut with my 2763. Here is what happened.
  11. Here is my setup. Almost all of my sockets are on some sort of rail. The back six rails are kobalt magnetic rails and the smaller sets in the front are on the rails that they came with. The kobalt rails are magnetic but they are kind of pricey. Somehow I only got charged for half though. Ignore the brake tools and snap ring pliers on the right side.
  12. I don't have experience with them but they are one of the few available in 6 point instead of 12.
  13. They are everywhere in Missouri too. Almost all of my parts come from there.
  14. That looks like a super nice set of sockets Mike. I like how they didn't throw in a bunch of stuff to get the tool count up. It looks like it comes with a good amount of extensions too. Are all of the sockets 6 point? What sizes are the torx bits?
  15. I see you had to break out the m18 beast today. You should get the m18 3/8 to go with it. I absolutely love mine.
  16. I feel that Carlyle is very underrated. Not many people know about them and a lot of people bash them for being foreign but their stuff rivals the truck brands to me. Their wrenches are similar to snap on for far far less money. Their sockets are a thing of beauty too. My 3/8 ratchets that I have from them are stupid strong. If any of you guys need some good hand tools for a decent price I would highly consider Carlyle.
  17. That's a good looking box. It is far cheaper than the truck offerings as well. I like how deep the top portion is. How wide is it?
  18. Which one are you talking about. They are both beasts. I haven't used the 1/2 a whole lot since I bought the 3/8. I did use it the other day on a puller someone pulled the threads on. It had a 1 inch threaded rod in it that the threads were pulled and the 1/2 took it out no problem. I have used the 3/8 a ton recently. We used it to lower a trans in a minivan to put a solenoid in the transmission and it took off everything from the subframe bolts to the sway bar. I had some time off last week and I helped a friend take a motor out of a motor home and it took out the motor mount bolts and the flex plate bolts without breaking a sweat. I love both of them and would not hesitate buying another one if either disappeared.
  19. My new 5.0 battery made it today. Now I won't have to keep switching batteries between my impacts. I only had a 4.0 and a 1.5 amp hour battery before.
  20. I think Napa sells homak tool boxes
  21. I just ordered a new Milwaukee m18 5.0 battery off eBay for $73. This got me wondering, how do you guys buy your batteries. Donyou get them from places such as eBay or buy them new at HD or wherever sells them brand new.
  22. I fed my knipex addition some more today by buying these 10 inch cutters.
  23. I'm sure that sunex makes them but I don't own any in 1/4 inch drive. Regular sockets are plenty strong for my 12v impact driver. I mainly use it for interior work or light duty stuff like stercorarius most likely would too.
  24. Personally is recommend a 1/4 hex to square adapter so you can use sockets you already own and that way you can use deep sockets too. That's what I do with my impact driver
  25. I checked Sears before I bought the 10 inch cutters. They were $35 at Sears and they were 30 there. The ones in the picture were angled and the ones I bought werent. I didn't see a need for that.
