I have the Bosch, and while I haven't used it a ton, I like it. I do wish I would have gotten the kit with the hard case rather than the bag, but that's just a personal quirk. If you buy the Bosch with the hardcase and don't want the case, let me know....

Yeah, my thoughts too. I already have 12 and 18v Milwaukie and 18v Makita. I hate (okay, okay, am mildly disturbed) the thought of another charger and battery cost.

Actually, I've become way less pretentious in my beer selection as I've gotten older. When I was younger, I was always trying something new. Now I think I may prefer old favorites like Pacifico. My cousin, who works in the mental health field, likes to say, "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy"....

They are always better on tap!

To quote Evis, "uh, thank you, thank you very much" I wish! I hope to retire to Lewiston when I retire and/or my kid gets out of school.

Assuming it's not an IPA... The one in my hand, LOL. I like Coors Original, Widmer Hefeweizen, Pacifico, Dos Equis, and Sam Adams. A local brewpub chain (?) does a Christmas beer called Kris Kringle that is spectacular.

You obviously need an impact for every socket you use!
-
That would be sweet... I love my M12 stuff, but the Bosch 12v tools are so tiny... I would love to NOT have to have another battery platform!
-
Bummer. The only one I could make is in Eugene, two hours each way.
-
If I had to pick one brand, where if I need a tool and have to buy strictly by brand, it would probably be Bosch.
-
I keep mine in it's kit bag, so I pull the blade every time I use it.
-
Yeah, spade bits will ruin your day without the side handle...
-
Nice, and I don't even like DeWalt!
-
Probably. But I likely wouldn't even use it, I'd just sit in the garage staring at it and repeating, "Ohh, carbon fiber" and make grunting noises. LOL

I don't have a whole lot of experience with Makita, just a 4" corded angle grinder, a very basic LXT brushed hammer drill, and some accessories. What I have I like. I think I have myself talked into an hyphoid circular saw and some more of the LXT cordless stuff... probably the new impact driver, maybe a 1/2" drive impact wrench, maybe the new super drill. I would have no problem if I would have started with the Makita stuff rather than the M18 stuff I have...

My feelings: given the choice, I will buy American first, German or Austrian a VERY close second, Canadian third, then the rest of Europe. I have no problem with Taiwan if my first choices aren't available. I will buy China if no other choices are available. Example: I recently needed some pliers/cutters NOW (so no ordering NWS or Knipex). I was going by HD, so I could have bought Milwaukee (PRC) or the Channellocks (USA) I ended up buying. I suppose I could have wandered over to the Electrician's section and bought Klein, but since I was just cutting the ends off zip-ties, I didn't think I needed that level of quality.

There's a guy at work that I got started on Festool... a Festool lunchbox would totally make him jealous...

What the heck, my tool IS going to be rusty by the time the girleyfriend gets back from Scandahoovia...

What's the big deal? Oh wait, that's right, you ARE Irish, LOL

Dang, I could stand to miss a couple of lunches... LOL Right now I'm working a temp gig for a local municipality. We're there for 40 hours a week, but the pace of work is, let's say, more 'deliberate' than private sector work. I'm thinking about going back to my last boss and see if I can work on Mondays (we're on a 4-10 schedule with Mondays off) and weekends when I don't have my son, just for some extra money and to get the rush of needing to get a certain amount of work done in a limited amount of time, no excuses. What the heck, the GFs in Sweden for another month and a half...

Just noticed your avatar. That's funny! Used to work with a guy from Wisconsin. They're a different breed...

Man, I just looked! I didn't see any levels on sale? Dang, apparently another trip is in order...

The board seems to love Tekton. I have Sunex and Gearwrench in 3/8"and Kobalt in 1/2". I really like the Sunex. I got the 3/8" drive master set 3329 and the mid-length SAE 3327. I will get the 2848 1/2" drive super extra deep SAE. I've never used the GW stuff...3/8" drive metric shallows... seems like the only crap that breaks around here is old inch stuff? I can't help but think they all came from the same factory, though....

I've not seen to Milwaukee box yet, but for my mostly mechanics tools, it laid out kinda funny. It would be great for more woodworking or construction-type tools. I have seen the Husky, and wasn't that impressed with the construction of it... sheet metal seemed a little thin. The DeWalt box seemed okay, once again laid out a little funny, and that hideous yellow! If I were looking for a ~$300-500 box, I'd be looking awfully hard at the Harbor Freight units. Huh huh, I said units, huh huh...

Cracking me up. I feel your pain...
