  1. So the Bosch sander will play nice with the Festool dust extractor. Good to know. Thanks, Chris, or maybe I hate you for what you're getting me in to.... to be determined later. LOL
  2. Festool could send me a track saw, a handful of sanders and a dust extractor and it would be a very Merry Christmas, indeed!
  3. Nice! Are they Taiwan or PRC?
  4. The Carlyle roto ratchet is one I'm interested in. I'll probably end up with the 1/4" and 3/8" eventually. Have you used the flare nut wrenches much yet Nicholas? That's one item that I've always thought you'd want to go with one of the top brands.... I have SAE SK but figured when I need metric I would spring for Snap On...
  5. Yup. Just a bad time of the year for buying new toys for myself. I'll eventually get one, and a 2655b, just not right now.
  6. Came close to buying one of the $100 M18 impact driver kits or a 2763 bare tool, but I just can't bring myself to buy anything for mysel this time of year. I ended up with a couple of LED replacement bulbs for the wall lights in the stairs. Yay.
  7. There's an Ace in town, but after they locked the door in my face at five minutes 'till closing time and then gave me a nasty grin, I'll not give them a penny of my money. It's either a half hour drive, order off the Internet, buy cheap crap, or Carlyle. Good thing I kinda like Carlyle. It's not raging infatuation like I have with Wright, but I dig NAPA's tools.
  8. I have the CM version from ten or so years ago. I seriously don't like them.
  9. I 'needed' some cutters (my Leatherman just wouldn't do!) and I didn't feel like making the 25 mile round trip to HD for some Channelocks, so just for gits and shiggles I stopped at NAPA. Glad I did. I'm beginning to hate that drive...

    Husky!!!

Yes on the first, YES on the second. The Armstrong MAXX 1/4" and 3/8" (x2) ratchets I have are quickly becoming favorites.

    Husky!!!

I have their 1/2" drive impact sockets, a long flex 1/2" ratchet, a 1/2" roto ratchet, the 3/8" gearless ratchet set they were blowing out last year post X-mas, and some 1/4" drive sockets. The roto is pretty coarse, the gearless stuff is just weird. Everything else I have is pretty decent.
  12. I'd rather have Kindigit do it.... 6.2L L92 engine from an Escalade..., airbags, killer stereo... Man, that thing is TINY compared to the new trucks...

    Husky!!!

If that's going to be used a lot, I'd skip the spline and get regular 6 point sockets.

    Some oldies

Sure, go ahead, meanie, pile on, I can take it. If you need me, I'll be over in the corner, reading a Festool catalog and crying. LOL Why do I feel the need to yell, "Get off my lawn!"?

    Some oldies

Wow, that hurts... tools you bought when I was eight years out of high school are oldies? LOL

    L-Boxx Question/Rant

My concern as well! (Anything worth doing is worth overdoing!)

    L-Boxx Question/Rant

Ahh, good intel. That should save me some stomach acid looking a Bosch's site! Thanks, brutha!

    L-Boxx Question/Rant

Yeah, it's your fault I'm looking!
  19. I've been poring over the Bosch website, drooling over tools, currently looking at a 6" ROS (ROS65VS-6)... would have loved to have picked up the 5"-6" combo in the L-Boxx, but I waited too long and Bosch disco'd it. I really want to get started in the L-Boxx system, but it seems like Bosch doesn't want to sell the tools with the boxes? Am I just not looking in the right spot, or are they just not available? (Also kinda interested in a barrel grip jigsaw.) It's enough to drive me to Festool!
  20. Yeah, guys around here are good at getting you to spend money. I like Mayhews.
  21. $25ish I think. I was in a bit of shock after filling the gas tanks on two cars, a trip to Lowes, and a trip to the grocery store.Kinda painful to see that much money going out NOT on tools. LOL
  22. Lotsa recommendations for stuff he didn't ask for... I've been using the GF's son's old Skil on the few times I've needed a portable circular saw, but at some point I'm gonna pick up a couple (or more); maybe the Ridgid Fuego 6-1/2"; maybe the DeWalt with brake, maybe the Makita sidewinder, maybe the Skil that Chris mentioned; for a wormdrive the Makita Mg, Bosch and Skil Mag LT are all in the running.
  23. Went in to the local Santucky (Sandy, OR) NAPA to get some chemicals, and ran across a 3/8" drive Torx (well, "star bit") impact set. I haven't used them yet, but there's lot of Torx on my Jeep, and Jeeps tend to get rusty... Etched on one side, stamped on the other:
