Extra battery platforms don't bother me, I have 18v Milwaukee and Makita and 12v Milwaukee. I'm thinking I may get into the Bosch 12v line, and there's an outside possibility I could get into the IR IQ20v line.

My old tower had a Western Digital Raptor drive as a boot drive. The new one will have some form of SSD boot drive, and a RAID array of some sort... Assuming I don't just get a NAS instead.

I need to put together a new box soon. My desktop is still running a Socket 939 AMD chip! Actually, I think I might look at more of a server setup... I have 55,000+ audio tracks a a couple of TBs of movies, and I think I want to be able to stream media files to anywhere in the house (okay, garage) that has a tablet/smartphone/laptop...

Yeah, I'm kinda-sorta waiting to buy a box until I can check out the Milwaukee unit. If it's built like the DeWalt/Husky boxes, I'll probably just get an HF 44"er.

What would something like that run? Real gold (I assume not...)? Anyway, that's probably the model I would get (not the blingtastic version...) with the batteries and charger. What batteries comes with it? I can hope for the 5 aH with the fuel gauge... LOL I'm sure those don't come in the kits.

Nice find! I'm not sure but what I would have used a different cart. If that's the Husky cart I'm thinking of, it's pretty light steel. I guess if you don't carry a bunch of really heavy stuff around in it...

MM: I have gone to Lowes, and I have drooled... just not over the new brushless stuff. Grrr. Not really looking to replace, more like my life isn't complicated enough, and I'm looking at maybe adding more stuff, just what I need... I wonder if Lowes would freak out if I brought in a couple of my M12 tools for a quick comparo...

A little too ritzy for my taste.... But then I tend to like bars where you throw peanut shells on the floor... Not to mention those bars stools (?) look like instruments of torture.

Does anybody have both brands of 12v tools they could hang a pic of? I love my M12 stuff, but it's not much smaller in comparison to the M18 tools. I'm just wondering if the Bosch stuff is enough smaller to justify another (!$&@#%+¥£€!) battery platform.

Outside of some Sunex super extra mondo deep sockets (so I don't have to use an extension when I torque lug nuts) I think the rest of my impact sockets will end up being Wright for standard impacts and Craftsman/Armstrong/Matco universal sockets.

I've not used one, but in my neurotic tool surfing, the Makitas get good reviews. If I were buying a new worm drive saw today (I'm not as of now, but you never know what may happen on the drive home) I'd be looking at, in order, the Skil Mag LT, the Makita, and the Bosch.

While I would prefer USA made tools, I feel much better buying Taiwanese tools than China or India...

Where were they made? Taiwan?
