    Weight of dcn692

After you have fired hundreds of thousands of nails with a paslode cordless, you get really fast with them! Here in Illinois where I'm at, inspectors have never questioned what nails I've used. Typically use 3x.131 and 3x120 for studs. And 2 3/8 for sheeting. And why do you have to use coil nails? They don't allow the full head paslode nails? Or don't they like how the head is offset? I use to use bostich coil nailers when I first started. Mainly for sheeting since you didn't have to reload frequently. I hated those nailers. Heavy and bulky. Can't really toe nail.

I guess I'm just a little spoiled by the paslode cordless. And my only reason to try the Dewalt is because of fuel cell cost. I don't use air nailers at all. Whole buildings using paslode cordless.

Is this nailer purposely made a little heavy to counter the momentum of the driving blade? Just from looking at this gun, there seems to be places where weight could have been shaved.
  4. I'll definitely not get rid of the Paslode framing guns, but perhaps go all Dewalt for trim. I did just buy a Dewalt framer, and we'll see how it goes. The extra weight definitely will suck.
  5. So is there a certain event going on in August?
  6. Dewalt is coming out with more cordless nailers and I'm tempted to ditch my cordless paslodes to save on fuel costs. The paslodes are very reliable and last a long time with minor parts required every so often. So how many nails can you shoot out of one of these cordless Dewalt nailers before they need an overhaul? I thought I read somewhere that a guy shot 10,000 nails with the cordless framer and it needed a complete overhaul, which would have cost as much as a nailer costs new, just to repair. Is this the norm?
  7. yes, a 10" slider would be nice. the 12" are just so big to haul around.
  8. i find the rear handle left hand very easy to cut straight. with this flexvolt, sometimes i ask myself if i've used a saw before....
  9. was it pretty? where did you see it? and why is there no info or pics yet????
  10. any new word on this saw?
  11. this is the saw you need to come out with. please hurry, because i really dont want to buy another battery platform.

harbor freight is stepping up their game. we'll be seeing bauer and hercules reviews on tools in action soon!
  13. i just dont understand the appeal of that saw.
  14. i like how the rails are more compact. thats my one gripe with the dewalt 12" miter saws. the rails are long and makes the saw a bit big.
  15. Dang. Was at other home depot and table saw is 399 and miter 599. Really tempting

these hercules drills are not worth it. too expensive for harbor freight stuff. heck i seen 18v white makita drill driver set at home depot for $155. better off with a name brand.
  17. i didnt see the miter saws in stock. table saw for 50 off (449) still didnt entice me.
  18. i noticed a couple home depots clearancing out the flexvolt table and miter saws. i'd imagine those two are slow sellers. the boxes looked fairy dusted.
  19. the biggest downside to going all cordless is the paslode fuel cell cost. but i feel the paslode nailers are safer to use and guys don't nail themselves anymore. so for safety its worth it.
  20. i've seen the zip system advertised, but no one around my area has ever used it. how much do sheets of zip sheathing cost? does the tape hold up? do you have to do anything with the exposed heads?
  21. there's no way i'm going back to cords. i dont even bring a generator or cords to a job much anymore. cordless is just so convenient.
  22. i think the recession was probably a big reason why tool manufacturers slowed down with development. i still dont think sales are near where they used to be.
  23. i hear ya. how long do we have to wait for a new left blade circular saw??
