  1. Those are carriage bolts. There is a little more than meets the eye though. Inside the aluminium pipe is an extended nut to connect the 2 bolts (one bolt secured with Loctite). I also used plastic endcaps of which I cutoff the cap. The remains are inside both ends of the pipe. This is to keep the pipe centered on the bolts so it lines up nicely.
  2. Strange. It's available here in the Netherlands and Germany for several months now. #DWST7-97150 You can get them from Germany via eBay (if you don't wanna wait) here.
  3. I used aluminium, but steel tube (which Rossi7x used) works best. Thing is, before I started my assembly I wasn't able to take a glance at the trolley, so I didn't really notice the rounded edges on the steel frame. Turned out the brackets are designed for tubes with rounded edges. Something aluminum doesn't have (unless custom work or special order) But with a small modification the brackets works just as well.
  4. For Europe the partnumber for the insert is #1004568-03. It seems this part is not (yet?) available in the US. See here http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?productNumber=DWST08204 As you can see in the parts list, the insert is not listed (among other parts)
  5. I'm not really sure. They were announced some months ago, though the release has been delayed. Maybe they are available now, but haven't seen them anywhere yet besides some online retailers, but they don't carry stock. From what I've heard they should be coming this month. I think with the upcoming fair everything falls in place...new saws, grinders, XR framing nailer and new extreme framing sawblades to name some.
  6. Were the new circular saws (DWE550, DWE560, DWE575 and DWE576) and angled grinders (DWE series, with XR like rubber grip, both in 180 & 230mm) also on the fair? We have the largest show in the Netherlands coming up next month. Looking forward to see the new toys
  7. I've used it here in the Netherlands to register my tools and work flawless. Do find it weird there's not a phonenumber or email from customer service on the UK website. You could try and sent an email to info@dewalt.co.uk The confirmation email sits not inside the junkmail folder from your mail application? It sometimes happens.
  8. Does this nailer have a low nail lockout feature to prevent dry firing? Couldn't find this info anywhere yet.
  9. They have a few different models coming up. Gonna get me the DWE575K as I prefer one with a flat base. Wouldn't you screw up the zero-clearance edge of the tracks by using 2 different saws with different blades on them? I'll keep my tracks solely to my tracksaw. There is already a circular saw that you can use on the rails. So it's not a new feature, merely an upgraded model. I like the looks and it's good to see the rubber "XR grip" finding it's way on more corded tools.
  10. No problem. The "nut" is a little metal block (I think. could very well be a regular nut) that slides in the rail, so you can slide the locator at the desired position and then lock it in place.
  11. From what I've seen and heard I like it, but have to try it to decide if I will buy one. We are longtime users of the Max CN565S coilnailers. These are one step below the regular 90mm framing nailers in terms of nail lengths. Which for our use are too much. Especially for ceilings and stuff the CN565S is perfect because it's very lightweight. I've tried a Paslode gas nailer once, but returned it after one day. Too heavy and too bulky and no bump fire mode. I hope/wish they would make a 32-65mm cordless coilnailer. That would seriously rock!
  12. It seems you are missing the locator. (Part # A23867) One end of one of the brackets will fit inside and this keeps the saw from sliding. DeWALT has this on both the tablesaw stand and mitersawstand. This is what it looks like Seeing your stand came pre-assembled by the shop, I would check with them and if they don't have it, have them order one for you, free of charge. (Part#A23867 "Locator")
  13. Thanks! Yeah, why waste the space with foam or such. I can see an use for inserts when you wanna carry a laser in a Toughbox. You don't want that tumbling inside. For anything else, fill it up with accessories. The tracksaw must be made for the DS300. It fits in so well. Yours is similar to mine... Funny, I took this pictue this afternoon when I finished using it. And here's the new bag...with my new ear muffs (DCR001) Much better reception and audio quality than the previous model (RDW173). Although I liked the headband of the Radians better. There is just one rule for borrowing my idea....to show the end result here
  14. Here's another one, from my DCD985. This is why I don't need inserts. The accessories are my inserts This is not a Toughbox, but this was how I used to carry the most used handtools. In a Fatmax Xtreme bag. I have changed to a new DeWALT bag last week. Similar to the Fatmax one, but just a bit smaller, which is good because the Fatmax was loaded and no fun to carry around a lot.
  15. Check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxOC07lrHL4
  16. I got mine from a company called Integro Groep here in the Netherlands. They are specialized in vehicle equipment / van storage. Normally the holders are grey, but I had them powdercoated in black. http://www.integro-groep.nl/pg-23653-7-39587/pagina/bedrijfswageninrichting_accessoires.html Hope this helps.
  17. That's the one I got now. The newest version (with the spacer) They don't feel as solid as the previous model. Mainly because they are smaller ofcourse. Do like the yellow and black one. A shame Gross Stabil no longer manufactures clamps, otherwise I would've bought me a pair. That rail looks good! Really something special.
  18. It's about the details, ha ha I see it has been altered, yet it's not very clear to see in the picture. Nice to know how these things come together. Does it work well, cutting doors without taking them off the hinges? Never tried it like that, though I've seen DeWALT advertise this method as one of the functions from the tracksaw.
  19. Aaah, so that's where the extended spacer is for. It looked kinda weird at first, but makes sense actually. You are right. The ones I have now do have the removable spacer and overall are lighter and smaller. Besides the different position of the release lever. They both work the same, but I agree with you. I do like the previous version over the current model. It feels more comfortable. I too have the saw in a DS300 with the clamps and different blades. Still need to get me the T-square. As for the last photo. It's common to see product images which differ from the actual product. I did notice on one of your pictures from your van, that you actually have one of these with the yellow parts. Looks better over the all black version. Anyway, thanks for clearing it up. Although it doesn't really matter it was something I was curious about, seeing the different models around the net.
  20. So, what's the deal between the different models of the tracksaw clamps (DWS5026) When I bought my tracksaw and clamps I received these Yesterday I received another pair which I intend to use with my workstands. They look like this, but are slightly different. The lock-release is not inside the handle but in front of it. And then there's this one, that is used to advertise the clamps. I've never actually seen these with the yellow parts. Are these an early model or something? Just curious...
  21. I have thought about using one for such purpose, but I need all the boxes for other stuff. I'll post some pictures of some boxes soon. I don't use inserts. Rather use as many space available for accessories so I can grab one box and have a machine and it's accessories with me. Here's one I did modify to neatly carry the discs.
  22. Thanks Quig. Yes, I have seen the new DeWALT stepladders and have thought about it. The price is ok, but then comes the shipping. That will be almost the same if not more than the inital cost. Add to that the taxes which our customs so lovely charges on both the items value AND the shippingcosts and it will turn out to be one very expensive ladder. The other thing is, the stepladder I have now is used to build around it. If you see the left rear door, when closed it all just fits with very little space. The little toughcase on the door for example just sits between 2 steps and the drywall squares are also placed so that the (added) handles just sits between the steps. For that I would need to get a DeWALT ladder with exactly the same dimensions. On top of that, I like the double stepladders better and DeWALT only have single stepladders to date. They do look great and have a good rating. I don't know if it will conflict with regulations for climbing materials over here. Might be an issue?!
  23. Yes, Dano pointed me to your photo-album. That's how I found out. Thanks for sharing the info. I'll might have a look at what's possible for my van.
  24. You have a nice van, both inside and out! I like those T5's, but for our company they are just too small. May I ask about your wheels. Are those the standard steel rims from a T5? I like your banded wheels. Might be something for my van because alloy wheels are a no go due to the overall weight.
  25. Aah, that's cool. Yes, that's my van, but never seen it like that with DeWALT and XR branding. Someone from DeWALT told me the picture went around most of their offices in Europe. Thanks for sharing. Pictures are back up now and made some new ones as well. I'm wondering. Your cases are sitting fairly close to eachother. Don't you have any problems taking them out? (lifting the side handles)
