Yep that's the one, I really wanted to get the Hitachi the only hang-up was it was a tad heavier, and the Kobalt was already at the limit of weight.

Scored a few brownie points, my brother and I picked up the Kobalt table saw for our dad yesterday, not the best saw in the world but far, far from the worst. Should be almost the perfect one for him, very manageable weight, good capacity, easy to setup. Our dad is 66 with almost double the miles most folks his age so ease of use was a major factor. Apon giving it to him he said " You guys are fucking idiots" Which is his way of saying thank you to us. Not gonna lie, probably the warmest feeling I've had giving a gift.

Added a Diablo 7 1/2 40t and some Irwin 6" clamps to my stash.... Side note, Menards gave me a bunch of full show pit pass, mixer, vender, concerts tickets to yesterday's NASCAR Nationwide event, I don't care for races but my wife loves em so she took some friends and had a blast, and won... Get this.... $150 Home Depot gift card (Menards gave me the tickets)

Haha lolololol, I held out a long time, it took my brother buying me the brad nailer to get me hooked in.... I'm glad I am now, with oddball tools this cheap why not! I'm a DeWalt guy and no green tools are replacing any of my yellow stuff but boy do they make some great supplements.

I'll also be keeping any eye out for a package/promo deal, this seriously looks like it could rival or even best similar priced corded saws. I've been holding out hopes for the 60v DeWalt to hit the states but this could definitely be the one!

20v, that's surprising, Looks like the battery slot could have extra room for the 9/3 or any other larger unreleased battery. OPE is not any area that gets me too excited but thats kinda cool.

I can't stand the stupid bags DeWalt's using these days, I actually like the plastic cases, when they do include them, I can't speak to the fit for ToughSystem but in my opinion I'd recommend the larger, more room for blades etc.

Same here, use em quite often. 887 zips em in quick, so ya, again I'm content with the 887 but faster stronger quieter wouldn't hurt my feelings, but still it's fine the way it is. Guys using mode 2, why bother, just get an 886 it's in mode 2 permanently... Lol

My 887 is almost always on #3, though I've got a LOT of hours on mine and know it pretty well, I wouldn't mind a faster, stronger, quieter version, doesn't necessarily need to be smaller (wouldn't hurt my feelings if it was) but I'm quite content with it and don't see a grand need for the BT model.

Well hummmm, let's see... My old man has was a licensed builder all my life and I can recall being on his jobs since I was about 6. My grandfather on my mother's side was a general contractor, my uncle(dad's brother) a general contractor and building inspector, another uncle (stepmom's brother) a carpenter and tile guy, well you get the gist, I'm from a family of builders. So out of high school I got into home electronic and appliance sales(makes sense right?), which led into home theater installation, which led in part to custom commercial AV systems and TV repair. I worked for a very large company doing this and had a corporate card with basically an unlimited tool budget as long as it was justified to do my job(that was nice just saying). Well the company which is primarily retail had a crummy year and they started looking for reasons to reduce head count, apparently doing what your boss tells you to do is a way to get fired(corporate bean counters got me for letting my assistant do my paperwork)..... So I fell back on my DNA and started doing work for my uncle (stepmom's Brother), my dad and other uncle have retired or got old whatever... Over the past couple years I've mostly worked on additions, roofs, siding, remodeling, home maintenance and repairs. Two winter's ago my brother in law asked me to help him on a remodel and we've been working steadily ever since, he started a damage mitigation company last summer with his buddy but since he has become the the sole owner and me the sole employee. Between damage mitigation jobs we also general contract all kinds of stuff with him as the "GC" and me the on site "foreman" which is a glorified way of saying I'm there to work, answer the questions for our sub contractors, and keep our random laborers busy.
