  1. I have gotten into the habit of squaring up full sheets of plywood with the track saw. so I spent quite awhile trying to square up a piece of plywood with my track saw to get it ready to break down and it has been difficult to square for whatever reason. I didn't have issues on any other pieces that I can remember. Now I'm worried that the pieces I cut from other pieces of plywood are off too. I check with my combo square on the new piece which I have calibrated for square many times on an edge cut by a Festool track. I also measure if parallel sides are equal in length. It seems like if I want the side square it will throw off the measurements for the parallel sides but if I want equal sides it throws off my square which doesn't make sense. I'm not real experienced yet with squaring things up but I think I may have found out part of the issue. As you can see in the picture my square shows the rail to not be square. I would expect the track to be square. I checked my festool track and it is square.

  3. Picked up a mothers headlight polishing kit, a 3000 grit sandpaper that says wet and dry, and I found a cmt orange cleaning sprsy. It is for cleaning bits and supposedly safe on them too. I figured I would give them a try.
  4. I heard there a new product in the works for dealing with dust when using a mixer. I would have expected a masonry saw to have a water system to cool the blade off. Maybe it could suppress the dust too?
  5. flexvolt is the kings son the king is metabo haha
  6. @Framer joe I hardly ever use a normal circular saw and if I do its borrowing one from one of the other guys. The track saw only gets used at home. When your rookie status you don't really need a circular saw. Maybe I will get one in the future if I ever get to do more building type stuff at work but thats not happening any time soon.
  7. nope I will say the pole hedge trimmer is correct.
  8. @Framer joe long story short I got a flex tracksaw instead. I would rather have the flex track saw but I had the 575 because I utilized the free tool with preorders deal when flexvolt went on preorder August of last year. I didn't really need the saw but it came with a free tool which I wanted at the time. Before my preorders arrived I was able to snag the flex hammer drill and impact kit for a good deal which also supported a tia member. I no longer needed the 2 free tools which were the 887 and 996 or the flex saw. My Flex and 20v buying is slowing down now. Probably won't be buying many tools for awhile.
  9. Anyone got word on the release dates of the 2 new tough system drawer units? On a side note is the 2 drawer unit the same size as the 3 drawer but with bigger drawers or is it smaller but with same sized drawers? I was thinking about getting either a 3 drawer unit or 2 drawer unit to put in my trunk for hand tools I leave in the car. The tool box I have does the job but a drawer unit wouldn't have height restrictions like the tool box has.
  10. @Kato it isn't yellow yet just more just cloudy from wear and tear. I suppose Menards would have the supplies?
  11. will be a nice addition to you flex joist drill.
  12. my rotex 150 supposedly polishes but I don't got the polishing pad for it. Would it be a good idea to get the buffing pad for the rotex? I'll have to look into mothers headlight restore. @Kato so I use 3000 grit first then the mothers? My neighbors son in law or something was thinking about oreos instead of looking behind his pickup or backup camera and backed into my car. From a short distance you wouldn't even notice and closeup the bumper looked out of place but apparently was enough damage to be worth over $1000 which surprised me. the lights worked but the back of the housing apparently had damage.
  13. So I recently had the complete headlight housing replaced and it looks all clear and nice but only the one light. Any suggestions on getting the other side clearer/more new looking to match the new light? I read toothpaste could work. I tried it and felt it didn't do much. Maybe I was doing it wrong.
  14. I do notice, from what Festool stuff I got, that they can get hot to the touch. Brushless may help some but mine aren't brushless. Hitachi is coming out with a new miter. Might be worth checking out. If you want best of the best might as well skip a miter saw and get a sliding table saw haha. Felder, Martin, and Oliver are some well known brands that make them.
  15. I picked up another DS130 and tough system wall rack with organizer and I picked up 2 DeWALT 24in bar clamps from Builders. Clamps have same specs as the Irwin quick grips but costed a bit less which surprised me. Also they have a very similar quick grip style mechanism for clamping. I like quick grip style clamps but some I find to not have enough clamping force. Hopefully I can get enough with these. They are rated for 300 lbs. I actually preferred the DeWALTs because the soft pads on the jaws felt a bit nicer and felt slightly more sturdy.
  16. any t2 or x2 kits or just single battery kits?
  17. I am trying to sell my new in box Flexvolt circular saw. I will be asking for $250 for it. If you got any questions send me a pm or reply to this post thanks. Just a reminder payments must be through PayPal. thanks.
  18. @Stercorarius DeWALT has the 20v compact brushless reciprocating saw but no full size brushless 20v recip saw. The full size brushless is 60v
  19. @Vgk If you are picking between these 2 kits specifically then I would go Milwaukee. Seems like you get more for your money. Makita has the better saws though. Faster circ saw and full size recip saw.
  20. @Cr8ondt sometimes certain cuts are easier using one hand over the other. I prefer blade right saws myself which i use with my left hand. Miters I use with both hands.
