  1. Awesome, I'll have to pick one up next time I make it to a Home Depot.
  2. So it looks like regardless of what size I get Wen will do the job. The 8 inch is probably enough for my every day use since I don't need a ton of travel. Thanks for reviving this thread because I had completely forgotten about the Wen drill press, I need to write it down so I don't forget it again.
  3. I'm probably going to end up getting one of each. Home Depot has a $20 off deal for Dewalt purchases of $100 or more. I probably would have just got the 400 if Bremon hadn't commented about the 300 because I would rather have a box that is too large than one that is too small.
  4. The Makita lunchbox/cooler style bags are the style I think they should be using for large items. I don't know who decided that a bag that you have to pull together and zip makes sense for a saw or router, but it doesn't seem like they actually had to try and put the items in it before making the decision.
  5. That's great to know. I don't think I'm going to have all that many accessories, probably just extra blades so if you have all of that in a 300 then it definitely will work for me.
  6. Anyone storing a Flexvolt circular saw in a ToughSystem? I got the saw in the bag that comes with it (barely) but I don't like how tight of a fit it is. It's like Dewalt sends a bag with their kits that will technically zipper shut, but with zero clearance. My 611 router with plunge base kit is the same way, bag shuts, but just barely. If you're storing the saw in a ToughSystem, which size are you using? It should fit in a 300, but the 400 might be better for extra clearance and to fit some accessories. Thoughts? 7. Crap. I checked CPO but they didn't have any deals on it when I did. Guess it happened after I decided on the circular saw. Oh well, I needed a circular saw too. [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. I build websites and iPhone applications for a living. I started building websites in middle school and just never stopped. Went to college for digital design in 2005, graduated in 2007 and was working for a small company. We built projects for the BBC and several other large companies. I quit in 2010 over Christmas break because of all the stress the were causing and the late paychecks. From 2010-2011 I did freelance work for individuals and companies. In 2011 I started my own design and development company with my brother, it can be hit or miss with work because smaller businesses want everything and the kitchen sink for the price of a coffee and larger businesses want a team bigger than two people. I've been interested in metalworking and woodworking lately and want to turn that into a side project or next career. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. A couple weeks ago I mentioned wanting to get the Flexvolt table saw, well in the time since I haven't been able to find a good deal on it. Acme Tools has a $20 off Dewalt code, but it doesn't work on Flexvolt. I noticed they had a Flexvolt specific deal though, buy a 2 battery kit and get an additional 6Ah for free. Well I decided to hold off on the table saw and bought the circular saw kit instead because I spend $100 less than on the table saw kit and I get three batteries. Now I can just buy the bare tool table saw in a couple of weeks or win the one Pro Tool Reviews is giving away. The only problem I ran into is they shipped me a standard 20v Max 2Ah battery instead of the Flexvolt in the promo, called and got that taken care of and the third battery should be here later this week with a return label.
  11. That sprayer and the tire inflator are the only things on my Ryobi list. Let us know how it works out because it seems like a huge convenience when compared to traditional pump sprayers.
  12. The M12 FUEL ratchets. I have the 3/8" previous generation and it's great but I want all three of the new ones. I'm using more 1/2" drive sockets recently and the high torque impact wrench I have is overkill for a lot of things (and heavy and large as hell). The M18 heat gun and M12 soldering iron share second place. 7-1/4" miter saw and One-Key high torque are third. Not excited about PackOut because inital prices being thrown around are ridiculous. The rolling box is priced at $130 from what I've heard which is over twice the current cost of the ToughSystem rolling box. If that price changes I might consider it because it does look nice and I like the little storage boxes.
  13. The toggle clamps I ordered a few weeks ago finally showed up today. It was 16 for $5 and now I know why.
  14. The Wood Whisperer has a good video on flattening a table (bench) top with a router as does Matt Cremona. I'd suggest looking at them and figuring out which might work best for your scenario. I haven't had the need to flatten a large surface yet, but if I do I will be trying a router sled before even considering hand planes. Wood Whisperer: Matt Cremona:
  15. I'm really disappointed with the tools announced, there were several that are upgrades that I do want. As far as new tools I'm interested in they are: 7-1/4" Miter Saw M12 Soldering Iron M18 Heat Gun the fixed blade hardline knife even though I can't carry it off my property because MD limits it to 3" M12 Underhood Light Updates I'm interested in are: One-Key High Torque Impact Wrench M12 Ratchets M12 Impact Driver M12 Power Source I really wanted to see a table saw, track saw, compact router, tire inflator, and push mower. The lack of OPE is especially surprising, I was hoping for a push mower but was expecting maybe a sprayer, a chainsaw, or something. Table saw and track saw I expected so they could compete with Dewalt, the router made sense seeing as both Ridgid and Ryobi have them, and a Milwaukee version of the tire inflator would have been nice. I wanted the tire inflator to chuck in the car bag with the gen 1 high torque impact wrench. Guess I will be buying the Ryobi one, which is fine since I want the glue gun and sprayer.
  16. It's a good idea, but my single credit card has a pretty low limit and is used just for gas and small things throughout the month. Unfortunately it has nowhere near the room for the saw currently. It's one of the things being paid by the check. Though maybe I hold off the purchase and look for Father's Day deals since it's coming up, might be worth it and result in a better deal.
  17. I've been busy with work and haven't bought anything new in a while because I haven't needed anything really. Next week I have a check coming that after covering a couple of bills leaves me a decent amount of "extra" money to purchase some tools I want. I'm taking some of that money to finally get the Flexvolt Table Saw kit. The check being delayed a week means I'm missing out on the 10% off over at Acme Tools but can't change how fast the mail or an accounts payable department is. Today however I impulse bought some Toggle Clamps from eBay. Amazon wanted $8 for a 4 pack plus shipping, if this listing is accurate I just bought 16 of them for $4.96 with free shipping. They're coming from China so delivery estimate is between Jun 15th and July 20th, it's a wide range, but I don't need the clamps right now and it's worth a $5 gamble for what Amazon would want $32 for. http://www.ebay.com/itm/302044062162?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  18. Yay, now I'm no longer stuck using my computer. I missed getting notifications. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Bought a new blade for my Ryobi bandsaw in hopes that it makes resawing easier. The stock blade is 1/8" or 1/4" wide so I bought the max size it would accept a whopping 3/8" wide blade. I also picked up a Gearwrench T15 bit socket, both from Sears using ShopYourWay points… and $6.25 shipping.
  20. That's great. Unfortunately I don't seem to be quite that lucky, UPS shows no pending deliveries. I did receive $10 in bonus points last week which was nice and got both my points and shipping refunded. Turned around and bought a band saw blade and a T15 bit socket.
  21. It looks like Tapatalk still points to the old forum location as well. When I try to sign in through Tapatalk "forum.professional-power-tool-guide.com" is at the bottom of the login screen.
  22. As a heads up the "Home" tab is pointing to http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/ which is just a white page since it's not redirecting to the actual forum home page.
  23. My Wera screwdrivers showed up this morning. Really like how they feel in my hands and the lasertip's are nice. Also the Klein backpack from the "6 Days of Christmas" giveaway is filling up nicely, though none of the pockets are deep enough for the longest Wera screwdriver to sit securely. The Milwaukee pouch in the bottom has hex and torx keys in it.
  24. I bought the Milwaukee M18 jigsaw thinking I'd use it often but all I discovered was I hate that style of jigsaw, I need to buy either the M12 version or maybe the Bosch barrel grip one.
  25. They've actually shipped already so that's a positive. I also found out that apparently they were on sale so I got an even better deal on them.
