  1. Coping shoe will be the first purchase for it after batteries and charger. 👍🏻
  2. I posted on Instagram a week ago that I wanted to get a cordless Barrel Grip Jig Saw but didn't really like the options I could find, Bosch required investing in another 12v platform with not many other tools I wanted, Festool was the expensive option because it required I also invest in another battery platform, and Makita required I import it from Canada. No one really had other brand suggestions though I did find that Metabo has one but still the same platform investment requirements (are there any other brands with cordless barrel grips?). I just kind of put it aside for later thought and I listed my M18 jig saw on eBay figuring I'd take the money from it and buy one. Then yesterday rolled around and International Tools announced a 24 hour overstock sale on a ton of tools with all listings starting at just $1.00. They had a ton of the Bosch bare tool jig saws up for grabs and some Makita grinders I wanted. The grinders got too expensive and I noticed someone paid more than retail for a rotary hammer. I ended up scoring a Bosch JS120BN Barrel Grip Jig Saw for a whopping $18 and a Dremel 7300-N/8 for $10. Everything included free shipping so now I just need to buy a Bosch starter kit and I saved over $100.
  3. Looks like Dewalt is releasing a Flexvolt Rear Handle 7-1/4" Circular Saw. Availability in November. The prices listed in the post are most likely CAD since that's where Tegs Tools is located.
  4. Nice, it's an even better deal than I thought it was a going to be.
  5. Nice. I haven't decided whether I need a deep cut band saw or not. The M18 Fuel consistently makes it onto my list of tools I want to buy but shouldn't unless a project calls for it. The little M12 one has come in handy more than I thought it would though.
  6. I have two cheap Ryobi router bit sets (straight and roundover) and a Whiteside upcut spiral bit. The Ryobi ones work pretty well but my plan is to buy the bits I end up using the most in 1/4" or 1/2" shank from Whiteside. I hear nothing but great things about them and they make a ton of different bits. I would probably buy Freud/Diablo if I needed a bit the same day since I know of no place near me that sells Whiteside and considering everything else I've used from them has been great thus far. I think the Diablo bits are comparable in price to Whiteside so if I don't need it the same day I'd order Whiteside and save myself an hour, gas, and bridge toll.

    WTF Toolnut?

Here's some more Instagram drama about it and apparently Atlas Machinery was deleting comments on their post. I don't have the need for either of them, but I'd buy the TSO over the "Insta" one if I ever do need it.
  8. Does anyone here own the Klein K12055 Heavy-Duty Wire Strippers and actually like them? I received a pair today from Klein and after using them for less than a half hour I already know I'm not going to use them. The cutters take more force than any other wire stripper I've used, the lock I don't think can be engaged one-handed, and it takes a lot of effort to strip stranded 14 awg wire. About the only thing I like on them is the grip I want to say maybe it's just a production error but @justinkendall also is having the same issues with the pair he received. We both used the two Southwire strippers Justin owns, they had none of these issues, and I could cut and strip wire with them all day.
  9. Yeah I did notice a decent amount of grass on my shoes, however I attributed it to the height of the grass I was dealing with. I'll have to see what happens when I use it again since the grass won't be as tall. The manual said left to right movement to keep it from throwing grass but from what I could tell the direction didn't influence the amount being thrown.
  10. The DCST920B string trimmer showed up today. Got it together, put a Flexvolt 6.0 on it, and spent about a half hour outside getting the parts of my yard not flooded from last nights rain dealt with. Didn't even phase the battery even thought I was running it on high. The only "downside" was that I discovered some of the stuff behind what I was able to trim is more solid than I was expecting so I need to buy a hedge trimmer and might as well get a chainsaw while I'm at it. I'm probably going for the Milwaukee hedge trimmer since I like the way it felt and the weight when I had a chance to try it. Going to wait for the new 20v Max chainsaw that's coming out.
  11. Ordered the Dewalt DCST920B string trimmer today. Needed a trimmer but didn't want to worry about gas or mixing, the Flexvolt one wasn't in the budget but I also don't necessarily know that my needs would have justified it either. Maybe if they had a bare tool version, but all of their Flexvolt OPE seems to be kits. I paid a little more ($9) to get it on Amazon over CPO so that it could be here by Thursday. CPO was offering two free spools of trimmer line on top of a lower price but it probably wouldn't have been here until next week and my yard is starting to look like a jungle. Someone stole my gas can for my mower prior to me going to mow after all the rain we've had in Maryland so that also factored into going for a cordless trimmer. Probably will be looking for a deal on an Ego mower come Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
  12. If you look closely at the right front on the top case in @FlaveNico's photo you can see the extra line where the case splits to open.
  13. Klein is also giving away a pair in their Tradesman Club. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KTC160thSideCutters-USA
  14. I only have one Makita case and after checking it's not one like this. That's a disappointment, but I'm guessing these were newer tools that came in these cases and my box is for a XDT11. Now I want to find an impact in one of these just so I can carry bits without them flying all over the place like in the current one.
  15. What extra compartment? This is the first I've heard about it.
  16. Standard Cubic Feet per Minute Yes the 1.2 SCFM on the Dewalt is at 90PSI
  17. The Ridgid has a 1 gallon tank, so this has it beat on volume at 2.5 gallons. Ridgid also only has 1 SCFM at 90PSI whereas the Dewalt has 1.2. If you aren't invested in either brand the Dewalt ends up being $80 cheaper assuming you would buy two 5.0 batteries and the dual charger if you chose Ridgid. The price difference and higher volume makes me really glad I didn't buy the Ridgid one.
  18. Acme Tools shared this on instagram this morning a Flexvolt air compressor is coming soon. "Coming soon: @dewalttough has added a 2.5 gal 135 max PSI cordless air compressor (DCC2560T1) to their FLEXVOLT line-up. And it's made in the USA! ?? Pre-order yours today." Its $299 and only available as a 1 battery kit at this time. Not sure when it would ship or what it's actual release date is and I can't find it anywhere else.
  19. Scored a free GearWrench bag and 2 piece plier set from my tool rep. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Definitely getting one, 12" bar is more than enough and it's around $157 USD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Mine arrived at Festool today for repair for the same reason. While I have heard very mixed reviews of the Pro5 with a lot having to be repaired, I've never heard any negatives with the Domino… except the price tag.
  22. I've been trying to think of what Milwaukee tool purchases I would like to undo and I think you solved that for me. The M12 non-fuel Hackzall might as well be called a Hacksome. That thing will not cut without a ton of force and will produce a shit-ton of vibration. I've used the M12 vacuum and you're right it doesn't have much if any suction and using it once was enough to let me know it's not worth the investment. The only other tool I can think of is the M18 compact blower. It works fine, however the way you have to connect the nozzle is a weak point. If you break one of those tabs you're going to hate it. I still want a compact blower and I'm sure all of the brands are pretty much exactly alike in design, but I would be storing that thing somewhere safe where nothing can fall on it nor where it can fall from.
  23. I'm currently driving a 1996 Chevy C1500 Silverado, 5.0L V8 Vortec quickly working it's way up to 300K miles. It's a pain in the ass some times but I've learned a lot from it including how to replace a starter, oxygen sensors (and why I hate them), and it's the first vehicle I've changed the oil myself. Changing the oil is what really sparked my interest in tools because I obviously needed wrenches and sockets to complete the task.
  24. I like the idea of the Makita mower, but not at that price for a 17". If it was a 20" then maybe, but I think I'm going to go with the Ego when it's time for a new one. I'm tired of dealing with everything involved with gas mowers.
