  1. Agree with the rotary tool suggestion, sanding away the material may be the best way to control the chip out and you can make adjustments as you go. I'd be concerned that a router would do more harm than good to it.
  2. It looks nice and has a several benefits over the Dewalt Flexvolt table saw, at least to me. A 10" blade, built in stand, two miter slots, and dust extraction. It doesn't mention dado support in the article, I would expect a 10" saw to be capable of using at least a small stack. However, I think Metabo also made one of the same mistakes as Dewalt, they didn't include any way to plug it in. I want a cordless table saw that runs on batteries when I don't have power, and run off an extension cord when I do. I think that would get people to consider cordless table saws more seriously. If you're invested in Metabo cordless tools already then this makes sense, but like Stuart said for the price you expect something more. He mentions some form of safety system like SawStop, but I'd settle for being able to plug it in.
  3. Yes to a 120V table saw, why they opted for 60 volt instead of building it like the miter saw I will never understand. I like the portability of a cordless table saw and the benefit of using it anywhere without a need for power, but when I'm somewhere with power why should I have to drain batteries. The 120V version should have two miter slots, be capable of being plugged in, and support at least a small dado stack.
  4. In some cases people probably bought replacement parts because they were available (I know that Craftsman seems to have replacements readily available online), took it as an opportunity to upgrade to new chests, just ignored it because they don't worry about their tools being stolen, or just decided to try and make their own. If you search long enough on the internet you'll probably find someone asking the same thing. If I was looking to replace bars on a chest I'd probably search for replacements, post somewhere about finding them for the specific chest, and if I can't find them try to make my own just like you did. Some people probably do the search, find no results, and then skip right to making them.
  5. Just got in a mixed 10 pack of flap discs from Benchmark Abrasives. Not thrilled with how they shipped them but I guess I can’t complain too much for $10.
  6. Karcher K 2 Compact showed up today, there’s a little preview video of it cleaning my sidewalk on my Instagram. Nice little machine, worth the ~$100 investment. I wish the base was a little heavier though because I had a few moments where I had to stop because it was tipping. That’s mostly from new hoses that need to be broken in I think.
  7. *cough* Bosch *cough* They have a 12v and a corded barrel grip, Makita also has a barrel grip corded one. You can try my cordless Bosch if you want.
  8. That's a hell of a deal, the bare tool string trimmer is $129 by itself. $50 more and you get a blower, battery, and charger. It is a pretty great trimmer, I've used it with a Flexvolt battery and it did really well with everything I put it to.
  9. That's disappointing. I was interested in the Low Profile one but at $79 I think I'll stick with getting another of the original Jobsite Backpacks since I like the one I have and have seen it as low as $59.
  10. I've used Wave (https://www.waveapps.com) before and it works pretty well, I ended up changing over to an installed version of Quickbooks. Thinking of switching to something new since my version is officially no longer supported and have been looking at FreshBooks (https://www.freshbooks.com) but I haven't really done much with it to recommend it. Wave has the benefit of being completely free so you could always try it and see if will work for you.
  11. Acme order came in. First impressions of some things, even though I’m sure many others have already had a chance to use them. The Flexvolt grinder feels heavy for its size, but that’s a good thing. Adding a battery provided a counter weight that evens it out nicely. This thing is going to be fun to use. Still want to pick up a corded Metabo for longer jobs so i don’t have to swap batteries often and will probably pick up another Flexvolt one so I can put it in a different head orientation. Also Dewalt finally shipped something in a bag that is appropriately sized for it. Unlike my circular saw and 611 Router this bag shuts with some extra room. The Milwaukee Fuel Blower cleared my sidewalk in 2 seconds and should make living in the woods during fall easier. Going to try the Karcher K1700 out this weekend and will report back. Yes I need to redo the sidewalk and yes that hose in the background is just lying around dirty as hell. Hose is getting cleaned and packed up for the season this weekend. It’s a Flexzilla hose and is actually really nice, never kinks.
  12. I picked up the multipurpose cleaner with the K1700 I ordered the other day, the vehicle wash and wax is something I'll be picking up in the spring. I ordered a K 2 Compact this morning and their free shipping is pretty fast, will be here Thursday.
  13. Karcher (https://www.kaercher.com/us/) is offering 20% off their home and garden products using promo code FALL20 for a limited time and doing free shipping.
  14. I should probably get around to doing this on my truck. Hit a deer in 2012 which resulted in replacing everything except one headlight which is cloudy/yellow and annoying.
  15. It’s a good thing I went to Lowe’s this morning and didn’t wait for the order ready email. They couldn’t find them, they were literally in the same spot they have been in for at least 6 months down the back of “Tool World”. Walked the associate to them in less than a minute. They were in the exact bay listed on the paperwork yet two employees were not able to find them. I also found this oddity, a Dewalt cooler with an impact, drill, charger, and 2 x 1.5Ah batteries for $329. So everyone throw away your boxes, coolers are the new tool storage solution! They also had the Power Station bare tool for $100 more than anywhere else. Had it been the kit for $399 it would have been in my cart but not paying more for a bare tool.
  16. Flexvolt circular saw should fit in the deep one since they ship in it in at least one country (not the US because apparently we like bags 🙄). I’m glad Justin is buying some so I don’t have to risk buying into a system that won’t work for me.
  17. I have yet to see a TSTAK or ToughSystem box at my local depot, it sure would make figuring out what actually fits in them easier. Of course my depot also doesn’t have an aisle of tool chests like I keep seeing people post either. Maybe I just have a crappy depot overall.
  18. I like the idea, look, and overall options of Packout, but the price is stopping me from really considering it. $80-$130 for totes seems really high (I'm not a tote guy so it may just be I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a bag). Some boxes are more reasonably priced and near the ToughSystem price while others are more expensive. @justinkendall just ordered some TSTAK's that I'm going to try fitting my tools in, if they fit in them I'll be ordering a set, if they don't then I'll have to compare ToughSystem v. Packout and make a decision.
  19. I was trying to plan out future purchases and saw that the 6 strut Centipede supports were $70 or so everywhere online. I was looking for the 2x2 4 strut versions but it looks like they aren't being produced anymore or just aren't available at the moment. Decided to check Lowe's and see if they had them, no luck but found the 6 strut versions for $34.99 marked down from $50. So I impulse bought all 6 of the ones they had in stock for store pickup tomorrow. Got six for the price I would have paid for three of them elsewhere online, so can't complain. I noticed once I ordered them and they changed to out of stock locally they also went back up to $50.
  20. No photos since I just ordered this morning, but I have some stuff coming that should arrive next week from Acme Tools. Dewalt Flexvolt Grinder Kit (1 battery) Milwaukee One-Key Sawzall (bare tool) M12 6.0Ah Battery since most of my compacts have broken tabs Bosch 12V Starter Kit for my Jigsaw Karcher 1.106-109.0 K1700 Pressure Washer Milwaukee M18 Fuel Blower Some accessories and consumables for the pressure washer 0.095" Trimmer Line for my string trimmer I also have a free Flexvolt 6.0Ah battery coming since the 1 battery kits have a deal going on. Saved $80 and got a 2 battery kit. The free battery and Sawzall are "Arriving Soon" so not sure if they'll show up next week or not.
  21. As mentioned before I scored a Bosch JS120BN Barrel Grip Jig Saw for a whopping $18 and a Dremel 7300-N/8 for $10 from International Tools eBay sale, they both showed up new in box. Now I just need to get some batteries and a charger for the jig saw, it looks like International Tools has a charger, 2 battery, and LBoxx-1 combo for around $70 which makes it a no brainer. Is there a difference between the silver and white labelled Bosch 12v batteries and the red and silver labelled ones? Also fresh off the FedEx truck 5 Klein NCVT-2 testers that cost me $0 since I had tradesman club points from reviewing their heavy duty wire strippers and from other point providing activities. I don't need 5 of them, but they also had nothing else on the items available list that I wanted either, so why not.
