timmyprice255 Posted July 26, 2016 Report Posted July 26, 2016 Ok so today at work I was the cut man, I was using a dewalt cordless circular saw because I was up on the roof, I was just running through battery's it seemed liked and i had to keep getting off and going to the trailer to get a charged one repeatedly through the day, any opinions on a better brand with a long battery life for a circular saw Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

kruton Posted July 26, 2016 Report Posted July 26, 2016 I'm a big fan of the Makita brushless 6-1/2" saw. Really solid saw and I have never run into any issues eating through batteries. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk Quote
Bremon Posted July 26, 2016 Report Posted July 26, 2016 Any brushless circ saw with a pair of 5.0s should keep you going. Brushed with 3.0...screw that. Could always run a cord to the roof. Save you getting back down, and the charge station would still be stationary, unlike running around w a corded saw. Quote
Logan Posted July 26, 2016 Report Posted July 26, 2016 Flex volt will be coming out soon and that should give you a lot better run time Quote
sparky603 Posted July 26, 2016 Report Posted July 26, 2016 Brushless is really a must when running any saw professionally, and especially as a carpenter. Pick your flavor, out of the contractor-grade brands - it's not the brand that'll make the difference. Quote
jeffmcmillan Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 Ditto everything about brushless and high capacity batteries. The older cordless circular saws were pretty bad. Quote
Cheng Liu Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 It will depend on what kind of wood you are cutting, but my Ryobi 6 1/2" was able to go half the day with a 4 mAh battery and the power level was still at half. Quote
Turner85 Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 Runtime decreases wit each use of the blade I've found. I find myself changing out blades a lot quicker than i would with a corded model. Quote
rrich1 Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 The 36v makita is a good option as well Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk Quote
JimboS1ice Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 Yea if your really looking for runtime the 2x18v makita is a strong contender or the Milwaukee fuel saws, I have the 6 1/2" and that thing is awesome, I've heard the 7 1/4" gets a little more run time but not sure how accurate that is, it is a newer saw. Andrius Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 today I cutted with Makita DSS601 circular saw with 3 Ah battery. I have fast charger so battery charging time is same as battery getting empty time I think 2x18V Makita with 2 x 5 Ah will be great 1 Quote
