wizbang Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 I used a magnetic bit holder that came with a kit I purchased a while ago. The problem I keep encountering is the the bits stay stuck to the screw fastner. I'm using the Dewalt max fit bits. I believe the bit holder is a cheap china made holder. Is the magnet too weak? I have seen some bit holders that have a lock designed to precent this issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
JimboS1ice Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 I have a mess load, my top 3 right now are the Makita mag setter, Wiha Terminator Set or the Wera were rapidapter Quote
wizbang Posted July 29, 2016 Author Report Posted July 29, 2016 Thanks for the input. Most of the stuff at the box stores doesn't seem to hold up well. I'm going to try the Weha ClicFix Magnetic Insert Bit Holder. Bought it from KC. The reviews said it doesn't hold up to impact drivers but I just do light duty screw driving. I'm currently using 2" bit with no adapter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Bremon Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Makita gold is awesome. I have a reasonable pile of Wera, but I use it with more care rather than impacting lol. Price on Makita gold is excellent as well. Quote
BMack37 Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 My favorite is Felo. Basically, anything European-made is a winner. Makita(Japan) is also very good. 1 Quote
Poisonfangs85 Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 My vote is for the Makita gold as well. I also have a Hilti that is fantastic. Quote
JimboS1ice Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 I gotta check out some felo I've noticed European made have much better magnets than the Chinese stuff Jimbo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

A 1" bit holds like glue. 2 Quote

Surfer (aka Nalu) Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 Yup I agree...Wera bit holders are great...the Impaktor is the bee's knees. They make great bits as well. Made in Germany Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk Quote
John Glassey Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 Got this one in a Wila terminator kit from KC_tools. The bit holder #71496 magnetic with locking ring. Don't know if this the one you spoke of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[emoji41] 1 Quote
