bulubuluplopplop Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 Hello, I have quite a lot of play in the mandrel of my DCD732D2 so I wanted to disassemble the mandrel to see if I could change the bearing. I've come so far, but don't see how to disassemble the mandrel any further. Any idea ? thank you

ChrisK Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 That's a new tool, why not send it back for repair without voiding the warranty? Also welcome to the forum.
bulubuluplopplop Posted February 16, 2017 Author Report Posted February 16, 2017 hello, it's not new, it's more than 2 years old, so no warranty any more...

Framer joe Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Replace the "c" bearing plate ...adjust the gear drive 2clicks to the left...rotate the driver 3degrees to load point....you must torque to appropriate specs,it's imperative to remember the sequence..............just kidding ,I'm just a framer...good luck though, welcome ! 1
bulubuluplopplop Posted February 17, 2017 Author Report Posted February 17, 2017 I got the drawing from Dewalt. It does not appear that it is possible to further disassemble the mandrel, and no individual bearing is visible. So I will ask them if it is possible to purchase the full mandrel assembly (and if it is cheaper than buying a whole new tool)
bulubuluplopplop Posted March 1, 2017 Author Report Posted March 1, 2017 Hello, some news, so as the spare parts are more than half the price of a new drill, I bought the same drill again. After a few tests, there is again some play on the mandrel. On a 10mm drill bit, I have about 1,5 mm play at the tip of the bit (yes, I checked that the bit was straight, I have no play at all on my floor drill press), which induce inaccuracy and a lot of vibration. So I returned the new drill. I think I will change for a Makita or Bosch (which are unfortunately more expensive)
