Blake Barnes Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 I have a DEWALT Portable Hand Planer (D26676) and I can't seem to find a dust collection bag that fits the this tool. It's not just a regular circle so I can't just use some adapter that would fit it. Does anyone have a solution to this? Quote

That's what I was thinking I might have to do; and just tape it or something. Nice name by the way haha. Quote
JimboS1ice Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 sorry, assumed it was the cordless planer... Quote
Hugh Jass Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 Yea me too, that's not going to work so well. 1 Quote
Hugh Jass Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 Maybe take a toilet paper core and zip tie it to the irregular side and then find a compatible adapter that fits the diameter for the vac side. This at least will give you the flexibility you need while being able to adjust to the shapes you need. 1 Quote
JimboS1ice Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 what about rockier? they have those flexible fittings and and adapters Quote
SetBuilder Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 looks like you need the adapter, then you can put a dust bag on it or hook up to vacuum http://www.ereplacementparts.com/adaptor-p-718477.html Quote

Turner85 Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 Dont bother with the bag even for the cordless version. Anytime i use it the chippings just clog up inside the plane and come back out where the blades are giving you a bad finish. I never got a blockage without the bag or when connected to a vac Quote
Hugh Jass Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 I have to say the cordless throws chips like a champ though. Turn a yard into a field of sawdust in 10min flat. Quote
JimboS1ice Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 I usually don't bother with the bag in my Bosch and just make it snow in the garage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
waltero Posted February 11, 2019 Report Posted February 11, 2019 DEWALT:1- 800-433-9258 Will sell you one. Item: Dewalt ADAPTOR 5140090-45 Hope this helps. Here is much cheaper, if they have one. https://www.mmtoolparts.com/store/checkout/cart/ Quote
MrNiceGuy3 Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 What about going to the local hardware store and getting a rubber fitting and using a hose clamp to attach it to the planer. That’s what I’ve done. About to try it now. Well I already had the fitting tho but came from local shop Quote
MrNiceGuy3 Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 Looks terrible but works amazing 🤩 Quote
