New 0880-20(2017 Re-Design) M18 Wet/Dry Vac

So recently my work has lead me in to a very high end sub division (I'm an Electrician) and on a search for a portable and reliable means of quickly being able to clean up the messes I can make.

This led me to the 0880-20 Cordless Wet/Dry vac. I actually ordered myself one before I even looked up any reviews online as I am a lover of all power tools Milwaukee. Upon looking up reviews, which were all great for the most part I noticed something; People didn't like that the hose was stored on the exterior of the vac and neither did I. There was one review for a re-designed wet/dry vac with the same part number released in 2017 where the hose is now stored in the unit itself! The information I've gathered on this re-designed vac is solely from this video. The guy states he got it from a Home Depot. I called around to every store imaginable, nobody has it. I called Milwaukee directly and they absolutely have no idea how this guy got this vac as multiple reps have told me as well as two managers that it is real (obviously) but is unreleased and has no release date set yet. Is anyone able to do better research than I have on this? Simply curious...and slightly jealous that I cant have this new toy that I want. I'll be sending the one I ordered with the hose that is stored on the outside back as soon as I receive it.

Will the new unit have more power?  Haven't watched the video yet cause old phone.

He didn't demo it in the video so it's hard to tell. He did say it sounds the same though. I'm guessing it's just cosmetic changes. They moved the hose inside, moved the power button over, removed the nicad battery slot so that it only works with the REDLITHIUM batteries, and change the lid's design.

I'm surprised they bothered with such a minor update. If they announced a new wet/dry vac I would have expected it to be something like the 6 gal. one that Ryobi makes, especially since both brands are owned by the same parent company.

I have had the old one for 3-4 years now. I don’t think I ever used the side hose holder. I just leave the hose plugged in and loop it up to the handle to carry it.

I try and reduce extra steps to save time on a job, not add them.

Just my opinion, I’m glad your happy with the update. They are great vacuums.
