comp56
yes but little tired of his unlimited budget.......we all can't fix a roof and end up with a $65,000 bathroom..

regopit
I have watched a few times and the the other show that he does Holmes inspection and some of the things that he picks out he goes way overboard on. I have seen him find some obscure thing and look over something that was so blatant a blind man could have seen.
Bigmikez
I love his shows but I dont c him on TV much anymore..
DR99
All I can think of right now is to Spray Foam everything!!! Like Regiopit he can be picky over things that don't make sense, and like Comp56 mentioned he lives a world it seems where materials cost nothing. This Old House can be guilty of that too, but that show going in is pretty much all about big dollar renovations and product placement. You donate materials and equipment for camera time or a small segment on the show.
BIGBEARJT
i really enjoy watching the shows, fun to watch what you can do with huge budgets, but id be more interested in a show that makes fixes with the least amount of budget, but i guess that never goes well with advertisers. BK13
I watch it.I like it.I wish I had his budget for renos. I do find myself checking out the tools being used more that what they are doing, though...
Scoszko
I like the show, but as others have said his budget is non existent. If I had the cash to do the kind of fixes and renovations he does, I could probably afford to buy a new house.

regopit
The people on this old house still pay big time they get some things donate but they have to pay a gift tax and Tom Silva cuts them a deal on some of the labor The only big benefit you may get you project done faster. BK13
Not to mention you get to be part of their slightly awkward interviews... Kidding. I love that show, Boston accents and all.

NERemodeling
This was one show that I thought was good for the general public to see. As a contractor, ive noticed people's perception of how long a job should take and what it should cost are so far off because of all these weekend kitchen remodel shows and super low budget/quality flip shows. Mike Holmes actually showed people that there is a downside to fast and cheap work and often renovations aren't cheap to do it right.. I wish there were more shows like it and less of the other garbage.

Northern Rebel
It's a good show, I love seeing what tools they use up there, which are usually the same. And the Boston accent on This Old House is awesome, but I'm also partial.
cjanderson_90
Another cool show though not as manly is Property Brothers. Granted one of the brothers look a little to "pretty" to be a contractor, the stuff they do is pretty damn cool. Transforming some pretty crappy houses into very cool spaces
