cwebby Posted January 19, 2015 Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 Hi i am a carpenter by trade and i love my milwaukee tools and i swear by them i just want them to branch out alittle more. Right now MILWAUKEE core trades are electricians and plumbers hvac. which is fine i just want them to re establish themselves into the carpentry/framing section.I NEED THEIR DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION to make the tools i use everyday as great as i know they can. they have their old worm drive saws, framing nailers, roofing nailers, brad nailers, staplers, routers , belt sanders etc but i dont know about the states but i cant get anything like that up here in the great white north and i know it is all outdated. So i am hoping thats milwaukee puts some time in and makes some NEW AND IMPROVED. Wish List COIL/ STICK FRAMING NAILERSROOFING NAILERPLANERNEW ROUTER NEW MINI ROUTER/TRIMERSTAPLE GUNS/ BRAD NAILERS BASICALLY I WANT ALL NEW WOODWORKING TOOLS PLEASE AND THANKYOU. Do you guys think this will ever happen and if ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCE WITH THE OLD PNEUMATIC MILWAUKEE TOOLS HOW ARE THEY CAUSE IF THEY ARE WORTH IT I CAN MAKE A TRIP SOUTH OF THE BORDER TO GET THEM? They discontinued pneumatic tools once they were bought out by TTI we might see some cordless nailers though. Milwaukee is more trades oriented than general contractor/framer like Dewalt or Makita. I think they are happy with their niche in the market they might expand in some areas. Rightnow it seems like Milwaukee is pushing cordless tools over corded for the most part. And for the rest look for a company that does the rest right. I own a few different brands and I'm not afraid to stray from my brand. Alan m Posted January 19, 2015 Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 I think this is Milwaukee's down fall. they do great tools and all kinds of tools for the plumbers and sparkies. they have very little for the carpenter. they have the basic set up but all of that is covered by other manufacturers .I have the dewalt line up and am going to buy into the Makita line up for their more unique tools.I really like Milwaukee . their tools are great but the choice of tools ruled them out Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Milwaukee have a tool line that leaves most others for dead (Makita being the exception), and people are dissapointed they don't have an even bigger line? People talk about Dewalt for carpenters & woodworkers. Sure they brought out the nailer, but where is the planer? palm nailer? brushless circ, grinder or recip? I have Bosch and Dewalt lines and really like them both, but combined they are not even close to the Milwaukee range... ChrisK Posted January 19, 2015 Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 Well I've got the M12 line tools for cutters and will soon have the Fuel Impact too (thanks TiA) but for the rest I've got Dewalt and now Bosch (thanks again guys) and Festool. Like Chad, I don't mind straying. I used to have a Milwaukee router but I sold it. Comp is right, they need to start working in that department. Maybe a Fuel compact and a heavy duty model (M18).With the recent deluge of rotary hammers I would say this is a possibility, but in general it really seems their strategy is going to a two tool line where others have heavy duty 18v, compact 18v and a 12v, Milwaukee is pushing brushless M12s as competition for other manufacturers compact 18v. They have a large market of tradesmen cornered and I think they might stick with just that because it easier to make a few people really happy then trying to make everyone satisfied. cwebby Posted January 25, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 25, 2015 i dont avoid other tool brand when it come to tools i do my research and figure out which is the best. i have mostly milwaukee cordless tools because i started into the m18 and m12 lines and have had no reason to change over I LOVE MY RED TOOLS. I have bosch Table saw, Bosch laminate trimmer and other random tools from the varying brands but i just want milwaukee to update their older corded and pneumatic tools to keep up with the rest of their competitors.I know TTI has ridgid and ryobi going nuts with their nailers and compressors and more carpentry based tools so why not step it up a notch and bring milwaukee name back onto the rough carpentry market cause now when ur on a site framing the only red you see is the sawzalls and the rest is conquered by hitachi paslode Skil dewalt, nailers and saws. comp56 Posted January 26, 2015 Report Share Posted January 26, 2015 I will say it again, I buy most all my tools at reduced price or on sale unless I need it right now......anyway out of all my cordless M12 or M18 tools I own the only one I was disappointed in was the m12 multi-tool, granted it does what it is supposed to do and it does it well but I feel it could have been better option wise......tool less blade change ect ect.....as for brand loyalty I am a Milwaukee player however I do have other brands because it is impossible to have one company completely cover everything......and cover it well...face it if I'm going to spend the money these tools are worth I want it to impress me every time I use it ....especially after the shiny finish wears off...... Bremon Posted January 30, 2015 Report Share Posted January 30, 2015 Well I'll be damned. More power and what seems to be smaller size than the M12 Fuel. Really blurring the lines through the lineup. The m12 is a bit lighter on all fronts. The compact 18v is the shortest in each case (and with the 18v compact vs fuel the difference is just 1/8" I believe), and the compact is just ever so slightly weaker than the 18v Fuel.The compact 18v line seems like a winner.
