kruton
This is just a follow up on an old post. I have been demoing one of our bathrooms and I have to say the OMT may be the handiest tool I have bought in a while. I just wish the blades weren't so expensive. It took me a little while to get the hang of making more precise cuts but once I did it's really pretty easy now. I've been running it for quite a bit now and the vibration doesn't bother my hands or arms at all. Very nice machine.Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

Bigmikez
Thanks for the follow up Kruton! Don't know why I've been neglecting getting one im planning on putting wood floors in our bedrooms and I know one of these would be a big help.
kruton
I think for someone like me, I don't use it everyday, but when I do its a lifesaver. My dad is getting the Bosch just because they have them in stock at Menards and he doesn't want to wait on one to be ordered. I'm going to steal his for a while and try to compare the two.Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
JimboS1ice
The bosch is supposed to be a pretty great machine as well, Bosch and Fein are about the best, Makita is supposed to be pretty good as well.
Shuutr
The Bosch was $119 on Amazon and Home Depot today.

hemdale
Ideally, the best would also to wear vibration dampening gloves. [emoji846]I have the Fein Supercut handle attached to my MultiMaster

hemdale
Can't really understand why Bosch came up with 3 different Starlock systems. C'mon, they invented the SDS. They could have applied the same approach

kruton
I thought the general idea was for applications where more power transfer was required there would be different types of interfaces. I'm not sure why there needs to be three, but should be interesting nonetheless. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
jeffmcmillan
Power transfer really isn't an issue for an OMT. The new interface would be good for a new style of tool paired with a new style of blade, but this is a bit like trying to push SDS max for small rotary hammers in that sense. As far as reasons starlock is bad, this one ranks pretty low.

JimboS1ice
Bosch and fein worked together on the whole thing. Correct but Bosch star lock isn't available yet. Jimbo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
WigWagWorkshop
I purchased the DeWalt 20v kit, it's awesome! Came in handy with all the house stuff we been doing. As a bonus it takes both types of blades, open and closed, the default is the open type. Anyone try the off brand blades on Amazon? You can get a 50pcs set pretty cheap. I was wondering about the cheap blades too. Might be worth trying out just to know. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
JimboS1ice
I usually stick to Dremel or Bosch brand but they last a while, not a bad deal for "disposable" blades Jimbo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
