  1. Yeah, table saw dust is hard pressed to get picked up with a standard shop vac but....if it's a small contractor model you'd be fine. I've been running my Sawstop with a Ridgid shop vacuum for a while (currently shoppless!) and it works very poorly but I have been waiting to get a stand alone dust collector. When I was using my Dewalt job site saw it was great. The problem is not CFM but rather the volume. Also, I have a cyclone attached to my Festool Midi. I don't think I'll ever have to change a bag or a filter again. It's awesome. In your case if that is all you are running, miter, router, saw, you would be fine. But....if you get into machinery, get a dust collector. Even better....get one with a cyclone.
  2. What kind of tools are you using? If your using a miter saw or a router I'd recommend a portable DC unit with HEPA. However, if you are using planers, jointers, table saws etc I'd say screw it and go for a stationary dust collector like the Delta or a Grizzly, Rikon, Jet etc...
  3. Before I got my track saw I used a 48" straight rule clamped down. @khariV brought up a really important point to keep your pressure even. Also, if you do get a track saw eventually, don't hang the tracks horizontally unless you provide center support. My 118" got a bow and it took quit a while of reverse placement on a solid surface to straighten it back out.
  4. Or it could be a bum chuck. When I started in the Milwaukee line, I had a bad M18 drill chuck. Metal chuck but it was garbage. I replaced the drill with another one and it worked fine. In my case, I would ratchet the chuck tightly on the bit and when I used it, the chuck was clicking. I tried to loosen the chuck and it took a lot of force. I kept messing with it and got ticked off and brought it back and ended up with another drill. I think in my case the drill chuck may have had some debris in it from manufacturing or something of the sort.
  5. I've got he x2 and am super happy with it. Thanks. No I HAVE to get this one when it comes out!
  6. I still just use the mobile site.
  7. Welcome to the forum Beens! Sounds like a ratcheting chuck to me. As you continue to tighten the chuck continues to ratchet tightly and keeps that's drill bit in place!
  8. How are you liking that little vac?
  9. It's official. I HATE Wigwag. I watched that whole video and I want to hurt somebody. Anybody.
  10. I love the fact that they copied Festools Eccentric chuck for this kit. Absolutely awesome chuck, especially when working inside of a drawer well when you need to screw into the base and have to lay the tool on its side. That work awesome.
  11. I'd love to see that set up too. Milwaukee has had there's out for a little while now over seas but... My CXS does the work just fine! The main problem is it's a stand alone tool.
  12. Man, we are having a baby. We wanted more property and our house sold the very day we started showing it. The problem in my area is, as soon as you list a house, it sells. This is a new phenomenon. There used to be time to look but houses are regularly selling the same day so homes are getting harder to come by. Hopefully the water inspection goes well Wednesday after our 20 week ultrasound. If so, I'll see our child AND have a solid commitment on my end to buy the home!
  13. Thanks @Foneguy @Craigh9916 yeah it's been a dream of mine for several years (20 to be exact!) to have a garage. We get a lot of snow in winter and cleaning off the cars a couple of times a day and moving them for snow blowing is a pain in the butt. I'm looking to stick build a garage to the right of our new home (God willing!!!!) in the wood line. The propert is only an acre but it's smack in the middle of some deep woods. Most of the lot is wooded and I will start clearing some out for my Wife's horse once we get settled in. Tons of trails around for her to ride so once it's all done I would like to have a separate two car and a small barn. I would move the shop one more time to the second floor of the garage if all of that happens. The base, net is actually a perfect size for a medium shop, way more room, totally dry and 9' ceilings but my Wife has it in her head to have me have a separate building for my shop and she doesn't want to wait for me to build it.
  14. I love the FL12 Todd. Awesome light. Low power is awesome too, nearly as bright but lasts quite a bit longer. I still have to pick a 4.0
  15. Thanks Kruton. When I think about it I'm so blessed all the time it's okay. This is actually a beautiful home so......
  16. That's New England for you dude. Too many cold days and not, enough hot ones. That is why I spent a half hour looking at pellet stoves today. Totally, blessed to have this listing which I originally wanted pop back up and saved an extra 4k
  17. Annnnnnnnnnd.......fell through! New offer today, accepted, and closing September 12th Might be a basement shop again but we just checked out some 14x32 single space garages for the next new digs........my finger nails can't take anymore!!!! Newer built completely out in the woods with an acre, full dormer on the back, 1700sq feet. Basement is huge but if I go the second structure route it'll be quite a ways back in the woods. I'll eventually build a two car garage and convert the shop into a 2 bay barn if I decide to buy the structure.
