  1. Yeah, your talking about a Beismeyer fence. It clamps on the front while the rear is pulled snug. I own a Sawstop however and the fence is actually dead accurate. No movements whatsoever when locked down. My Dewalt had the ratcheting fence that was also quite good.
  2. Already already there bro! Saving my piggys as we speak!!!!!
  3. Awesome stuff dude! Congratulations!!!!!
  4. Ha. I thought it was just me left as a final bastion against the social media wave!!!! Welcome to the uncool crowd Not Carl!!!!!
  5. You can also send your packs out to be rebuilt or do it yourself. There are several kits available for many lineups (I don't know if B&D is one of them but it should be easy to find out). There is a guy locally to me that has his entire store based on rebuilding all battery packs. Costs about $20-25 USD per pack. And ofcourse switching might be expensive but going to a decent brand like HD or even the newer B&D 20v (18v your way) ensures a stable battery lineup. Ryobi garuntees that they are staying with their style of packs.
  6. That or lemonade id definitely be the lemonade guy if that'd happen to me!
  7. Scha-winggggggg! Awesome!!!! Best post in a while!!!!!! Looks fantastic dude!

  10. Welcome to the forum dude and which router are you looking for the base for? You have two routers listed in the body of the post.
  11. Yeah that's really where Laguna owns the market. I really almost went with theirs but opted for the Rikon but only because of cost. Rikon has a phenomenal bandsaw but that system Laguna has is like buddah!!!
  12. I had heard the same thing about their CS but I also heard they have improved in that department. They make a heck of an awesome 14" bandsaw and some great DC units too!
  13. Hahahahaha Still, really cool looking light too!
  14. I think I'm getting a chubby. That thing looks awesome. Can't wait to see some performance tests with it.
  15. Whoa whoa whoa.....wait a second. You drive an Audi??????
  16. i have to slide my fence all the way over but not off for the maximum compound cuts. This is a typical Festool video but it really shows the capabilities of their machines (the Kapex in this case). Personally...if I had had the expendable cash at the time, I would not have hesitated. The dust collection is really awesome as well as tons of features including the micro adjustments and locks for cutting trenches but I bought mine because I got it for half off. That's the simple truth, for all of the features which I believe far surpass the other machines out there, it still has a few things (like the XPS....seriously, the best lighting system out there) that some of the machines do have. I will say, cut capacity is way more than you would expect from a 10" machine and is able to do what most 12" saws can do and for a small weight. Throw in DC and it's the perfect finish machine or indoor shop machine. I had made the decision to go with another saw when I happened upon the deal. I will tell you, the saw is simply amazing but pretty much if you have to make an extreme compound cut, the fence has to be slid almost off the rails to accommodate them. I am am still serious about getting the Flexvolt too, having a cordless miter would be pretty sweet but I wouldn't be getting rid of my my girl! Of course it would cost more than I paid for my Kapex
  17. And........yup. We are closing on a fifteen year old cape next Monday! I went from a 1797 Federal to a 1911 Four Square to a 2001 Cape. Quite the transition! And yet a big part of me is really sad, I wish I was over there to help dude, that sounds like one heck of an awesome experience (yeah dude, I'm mental). My new home will end up having a pole barn and large shed to build and I may be....gasp, cough, gasp....buying a single car garage/shed for an outdoor woodshop. MAYBE!!!!! Awesome post dude, cannot wait to see more, I eat this stuff up. I love reno work! Of course with a baby on the way in December and a HEALTHY respect for lead paint, this was the safe way to go ..... !
  18. Truthfully, the more I look at it, it is amazing that they can put a functioning hammer mechanism in shuck a short package. Kudos there, kind of like the newer Bosch brushless EC Tech that will hopefully appear pretty soon.
  19. Dewalt. and.....I just might! It'd be nice to have the cordless option especially when making my new shop in our new home.
  20. Nice Bob. Good luck dude, post some pics too!
