  1. Not sure of the shelf life, I keep mine tightly sealed and I've been storing it in my basement shop(s) where it routinely gets in the mid 40s
  2. A couple of years ago I used 3 on several cutting boards. No de lamination at all so I keep a gallon in my shop. I use 2 more often but for some projects just as comp says, setting time is fantastic.
  3. I'm with you Trevor, I've got this and it is awesome
  4. Real good Trevor, really doing good, seriously man, I hope things straighten out for your loved ones bro.
  5. Welcome back Trevor. God bless dude, keep the faith man!
  6. Yeah, the clamp supports are okay but the Jets don't need them. The not marring clamps are more of a pain, I've lost several and they are decent but not a selling point for me. The Besseys are cheaper price wise though and they are solid clamps. I still like my Jets better but I will continue to purchase Besseys as well.
  7. I've got a bunch of Jets and a few Besseys. I really like the trigger on the Jets and this are the ones I try to purchase the most.

    This is cool.

Hahahaha I just drove into a tree. Not because I was watching YouTube and driving but because of the strobes
  9. I use mostly parallel clamps but I have a small but well laid out group of Dewalt XL clamps. Really nice with a wide face for contact. I also have a few small Irwins, they are okay.
  10. Nice Not Carl! Mine came in a while back and I a, waiting for my $50 refund. I ended up buying a CT26 and the boom arm ass, boy. The sands is awesome, nice lay made, fit and finish are great, DC is phenomenal. Like Rich said, I've got a Bosch sander too and I am switching the interface to 6" so my PRO5 will be my 5" finish sander.
  11. Sorry the only ones that come to mind right away are Makita, Festool and Mafell and Milwaukee, though I haven't researched any recently.
  12. Yes Jordan. You have a problem. Seek help right away. I think there's a 1-900 number floating around here....
  13. No worries! Just seeing those tools on a guys home shop is amazing. Not a commercial shop at all just a hobbyist. The guy has tools like Timothy Wilmott who is an amazingly talented designer and builder. It's hard to imagine having those things piled up in a shop at my house, in the basement, especially when I have what I consider to be very high end tools. To me, a hobby is a big deal. It allows a guy to leave his regular life at the back door and enjoy something of his own making. A buddy of mine, Dave, builds 16th-17th era homes by hand, using hand tools, with trees he has harvested by hand. The guy is amazing and I occasionally go over and "help" him out. Clearly it is one sided, I am learning from the best. He asked me over the summer why I liked doing this (woodworking, building) so much and my response was that at the end of the day, you have a finished project. It's something you did, with your hands, and there is a tangible object you can look at. To me this is a big deal. At my job there is never and end, only a break when you go home and come back. Then on to the next day. That to me is why having the shop is so important and the project work, though always up to judgement, is still yours. I was talking to a friend of mine over the winter and he was admiring a cutting board I had made. I batched a bunch out for Christmas last year, and he started telling me how he sells small pine do dads online and has been making a few thousand bucks for his hobbies and he told me I'd kill it at local shows and I was like, dude, I couldn't stand seeing my work go out and no selling. Sometimes I think I am a ballsy kind of guy, I have to be at work and it carries on everywhere but when it comes to my hobby, totally different story. It's funny seeing a guys who can put out that amount of cash for a personal hobby. I've spent a lot of money in my shop but man.... if I had that cash I'd be getting dirty looks from everybody! I'd have a Felder, a Hammer, Mafel, Festool.....err I have Feetool soooo...
  14. And this is why I don't post too many of my projects here or anywhere. I've got some serious cash in my shop and my projects are my projects. I don't have the balls that some guys have, to post my builds. I'm always afraid I'll get an ear full for it if somebody doesn't like it. The truth is, to each there own. I've got a lot of money wrapped up in my shop. If I could get a Felder table saw...done. The truth is, some guys have hobbies. Those hobbies, if we are so blessed to pursue, generally cost money. If a guy likes cars, he builds and modifies cars. If a guy likes turning wrenches, the same is true. Motorcycles, photography, guns etc etc etc. I guess, to each there own but I for one think this is a great post @rrmccabe I subscribed to this guy as soon as I saw your post. He has a lot of talent and has one heck of a wood shop. I watched some of his build videos and this guy has some skills to be sure and clearly a wallet to buy the best. I think it's amazing that this guys used all of those friggin tools to build a simple cabinet but he's got $$$ wrapped up in tools. When I built my stupid little clamp rack I used my Sawstop, TS55REQ and my CXS. A lot of cash for a stupid little project but I spent money on those beasts, I don't care if they get relegated to Pine work. Good for him! Doesn't one of our guys have an edge banner like that.
  15. Awesome video! Is that a 20" jointer planer combo in the background?!?!?!?!?! Really cool seeing the Lamello in action, I've only seen a product video before. It's really really weird not seeing a glue up assembly. My DF500 still uses glue! It's pretty cool seeing an amateur with a shop like that, kind of like a gear head with a bazillion bucks in cro mo wrenches and hot rods all about. Weird to see a wood nerd sporting tools like that!

    Dewalt's Tapes

I've got a half dozen Fastcaps in my shop including two flat tapes (one is metric one imperial plus the burn one tape which is great for measuring without using the clip
  17. You know, check Whiteside on Amazon in the warehouse. I've gotten some sick deals on several of my bits through them.
  18. Dude, may as$ just clamped shut! Yeeeesh! I'd have to change my diapers using that thing. You sir...you have brass balls.

    Dewalt's Tapes

Still using my Bostich Fatmax tape. Not sure how they got Fatmax in the name but I've had it for years and it's got forever standout, high viz tape, big hook but I was checking the Dewalt tapes out and they looked decent with easy to read tape. I wish my Milwaukee tape had the high viz tape, my eyes are getting crappy for reading up close and this helps a lot. By the way, the new Milwaukee tapes look cheap. Not like the magnetic one I have, rock solid.

    New Recip

Pretty neat. Love my new brushless Makita so Bosch won't be in my shop but I loke the layout of this one. Especially the orbital switch.
  21. No light https://www.boschtools.com/us/en/boschtools-ocs/router-attachments-medium-large-routers-ra1166-27302-p/
  22. @ChrisK I have a few questions about the Festool 1010 router. Does it take awhile to learn how to use and adjust the router? Does it have a light? Does it come with Imperial measurements? Final question. Do you recommend this as a first router or should it be something I should get later down the road when I am more experienced? @Jronman as far as learning the OF1010...piece of cake. Super easy adjustability. No light. Yes, you can now order with metric or imperial measurements. Do I recommend the OF1010? Well, yes I do. As a first router? No. The OF1010 is a compact router like the Bosch, Makita, Dewalt etc. It is a high end, super useful router with amazing adjustability but buying into the line is expensive. And at the end of the day, the OF1010 is still a compact router that will cost the same as a large router. I have five routers right now. I have the Makita RT0701CX7 compact router, the Bosch 1617EVSPK, the Festool OF1400, Festool OF1010 and the Festool MFK700 EQ. If if you want a general purpose router out of my category I would recommend the Festool OF1400 or the Bosch 1617 (more likely the Bosch MRP23EVS). My favorite router is by far the OF1400, it's an awesome kit that is part of the entire ecosystem. The dust collection is amazing, it works with the LR32 system as well as the holey rail and base. It's super soft start and super easy to adjust. My 1617 is in my compact router table and it is a fantastic router for that purposes. If I needed something bigger I would go with the PC (or just stay in my system, the OF2200). The only router I have with a light is the Makita. It's actually pretty cool but it's not that important to me. With all that dust and wood ripping around it would probably screw with me. The thing with Festool is that they are part of a system. If you buy into the system and use the components, there is nothing like it. They make very high quality tools, but you pay for them. Though I agree with @comp56 on the bits, I disagree with him on the tool when it comes to certain tools. Having all of the bells and whistles in a high end tool that will last for a long time and can have unparalleled dust collection and accuracy is sometimes worth it. But spending $500 on a router, $600 on a Dust collector, $125 on a rail etc. adds up. The reason you end up buying those other components is because those components work with several other tools. In my opinion, If you buy a router, make sure it fits all of your needs, then go above that. I believe in buying once and spending the cash. I haven't had to get a big monster 3.25 hp router yet but my 1617 has the required torque and speed to do all of the cabinetry I've needed and it was relativity inexpensive for a great quality tool. I would have gotten one but spending over $800 on a OF2200 or $400 on the big PC hasn't appealed to me. I would stick with a quality tool from one of the manufacturers listed or Triton etc. and like @comp56 said, buy quality bits. I'm a big fan of Whiteside!
