  1. Dude, I've got this. IT IS FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!
  2. Haha oh it'll be my own version of one of these but I really want to put a tail vise and shoulder vise on it
  3. I'm not entirely sure. Part of me wants to go with the Roubo style but I really like the English style with the aprons. I also like the Dutch styling too. All great for hand tool use.
  4. Looks gorgeous John, any finish to add or is that good enough just to go out with?
  5. Beautiful work John! What species wood?
  6. You know, when I wrote this early this morning after feeding my little boy I woke up and though.... "hot bath" ?!?!? WTF?!?!?!?!?!
  7. On my T18 you can add the centrotec chuck or the jacobs chuck but not the eccentric chuck.
  8. Of the Millers Falls I have, three are no. 14s the equivalent to a Stanley no 5. My biggest plane is an early addition Stanley Bedrock no 606. It would have been made at the very end of the 19th or very beginning of the 20th centuries. It's pretty sweet I just got it and it will be one of my last project planes but the japanning is in really good shape. Very little rust and the tote is solid, missing a piece of the corner but it's serviceable right now. I just want to clean her up a little and treat her right. She's old but really well built.
  9. I ordered the David Barron magnetic dove tail guide 1-6 from Highland Hardwoods plus some maintenance pieces for my glue bot and another larger glue bot. Should have those soon Oh.....and Woodcraft here I come Saturday. What will I buy....hmmmmmmmm.....
  10. Ha. Saw hand tools and thought wood working. You mechanics!!!!! I guess I really like my Wera's and my new Gedore tools but I'm also a big fan of all of my NWS tools and my Klein's. Fantastic tools and my Klein linesman pliers are the ones I always reach for. If any of you mechanically inclined people wish to be immersed in true culture, art and other Gentlemanly pursuits... my answer would be Lie Nielsen and Veritas.
  11. Imagine you reach into a drawer with a drill to drive a screw into a corner. You have to cant the drill and angle it in if you are lucky enough to get the drill in there in the first place. An offset chuck is designed to have the rotating 1/4" chuck to be off center. The shank is on the edge of the round plate instead of the center. You can lie the tool flat, slide it into the narrow opening, and drove a screw in at 90* as opposed to a 45* angle. It's one of those things that you don't need. Until you need it!
  12. To me....Milwaukee is like a hot bath. Sure....it looks really good but it burns the hell out of your fuc&ing toe when you put your foot in it
  13. You thinking Axminster or Toolstop or somebody else?
  14. No gimmick dude. I've got the Festool CXS and the T18. Having an offset chuck while sliding a drill into a drawer opening or having a right angle chuck while installing a countertop is priceless. I'd love to get this set but I've got the aforementioned and can't see spending the cash. If I didn't have them, I would not hesitate for one second on springing for the Bosch. I've got a few of their 12v tools and this one is pretty sweet.
  15. No Not Carl.......you can NEVER look impatient to me....sweet cheeks
  16. Welcome to the forums John. Be careful out there bro!
  17. Yeah that is nice looking one. I ended up getting an old Craftsman Stanley block plane, pre '65 to do a restore but right now I've got a couple of Stanley Bedrocks, four Millers Falls and one Sargent all needing to be refurbished. I am planning on doing a giveaway on one of the Millers Falls God willing this summer. I want to get it honed, tuned and sexy. I've got this weird thing for old Millers Falls. Really nice planes. I got a Millers Falls 714 Buck Rogers plane in awesome shape. Love the multi point lever caps. Really slick design.
  18. Nice Rich! Love those Fastcaps too
  19. Rich, did you recon that Craftsman or is that a new (old) eBay purchase?
  20. Agreed bro, that 18v impact is about the same size as the 12v which is great. Chris doesn't need ANOTHER battery platform!!!!
  21. Hey Not Carl! I'm enjoying the process, I wish it was a little quicker but meh....this weekend I am hitting Woodcraft with a $100 gift card and the CT26 dust extractor on my short list. I have to get some tables built for my Shopfox mortiser, my planer and get that darn outfeed table done. Then.....I'm thinking about putting Chris Schwarz Workbench book to good use
  22. Welcome to the forums bro!
