  1. If you want to go poor get the Thingamajig http://m.specialtytools.com/item/3239303036got it last year. It's pretty cool and super accurate. $80 but it's pretty slick.
  2. They are quite large. They have the reinforced side panels and the full clamp face. They are for all intents the exact same as your Irwins and are rebranded. I've actually got them up to 50" long with a few 24"s too. The nice thing is for the tricky jobs when setting up the parallel will cause problems these pop right in plus the 50" are great for squaring up smaller cabinets.
  3. Yeah with these particular ones I have not had that issue whereas my irwins aren't as stable. Truthfully though my Jets and Besseys do the real work but the Dewalts do everything else! It's all about the face. Plus the trigger mechanism on the Dewalts are much stronger.
  4. Absolutely!http://m.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-12-in-X-Large-Trigger-Clamp-DWHT83185/204988146 The best thing is the full clamp face as opposed to the small rubber face on my Irwins. This produce a large amount of force but over a much larger area like a parallel clamp. Super nice stuff!
  5. I've got a boat load of Jets and a small number of Besseys. The cool thing about the Jets, aside from the lifetime warranty, is the finger trigger to release the head. Pretty slick! This year there were no Jet sales but the last few years Jet has a buy one get one free deal or half price and I try to stock up then. Also I'm a huge fan of the Dewalt XL trigger clamps!
  6. Also, I agree with @BMack37 completely. This is going to be a topic that will have to be moderated quite a bit. This is an area where members will freely be able to bash some other member. I will leave this up for now, but if I or another mod sees it going south, so does the sub topic. Remember. Hitting "Like this" increases a members status on our forum. That should really show the guy or gals mettle in the forum. Also remember, buying tools from another member has risks for both people. Things get lost etc....we allow members to sell here but those sales are between the seller and the buyer not TIA. Please, I have been on the not happy side before because some member has decided to use the forum to publicly bash other members and I had to snip him from the TIA. Keep it friendly, keep it polite and keep it professional. Anything else should be reported to the mods here. Thanks, Chris.
  7. Ha! I just bought a box of grip rites at Lowes and noticed they had a more finished appearance over my old ones.
  8. Oh dude....GET THE LR32! Awesome stuff, I love mine. I actually bought the one just below the set and save a ton of cash and just modified a systainer as it didn't come with one
  9. Another point of note, the casters I got lock with very strong foot pedals and DO NOT MOVE. Very very stable base for my jointer.
  10. I ended up making the mobile base for my Powermatic with lap jointed PT 2x4, glued and screwed and set on 3" locking rubber casters. All in all I spent under $40 (PT 2x4 and 4 casters HD) and it is holding up very well including a move from our last home basement wood shop to storage to our new homes base, met wood shop.
  11. That shop is awesome and I love the tracks hanging. In ,y last shop I did not have the ceiling height and had to hang them horizontally which screwed up my 110" track. This is going to help me out a lot!

Well thanks man, I was really scratching my head on this!
  13. That's a new tool, why not send it back for repair without voiding the warranty? Also welcome to the forum.
  14. Well I've got a stool so...... I also have the PM55HH 6" jointer. Absolutely fantastic machine. Beautiful cuts, not knife marks and the helical head is SUPER quiet!
  15. Where the heck is all the white stuff?!?!?!?!?!?!? There's open water!!!!!!!!

    Tool hack

Nice. How do you like the vac?
  17. If you seriously want to go cordless, how about Rubio? They make some great cordless tools for little cash and have some fantastic 18v nailers in the Airstrike brand. Just food for thought. Also....shame on you. Don't ask questions like this here!!!! These guys are like Hollywood wives when it comes to surgically removing money for some poor unsuspecting guy!!!!!!!
  18. I've been really wanting to try my hand at mixed media with projects and I have never welded. This is pretty cool. Now I just have to learn how to weld, get a saw like the Fein and some form of a welder!
  19. Welcome to the forums dude
  20. I'm with you for right now on the 40v stuff though....I am thinking about starting some small time lawn care when I retire and may consider that lineup. Right now I've got the 20v hedge trimmer and it is awesome. Coupled with the 60v battery it doesn't die. This will segway into the weed whacker next.
