  1. I agree for these big ticket items I too believe that a corded adapter would promote more DIYers to buy into them, as if the 12 miter was battery only I would not even consider it in fear that the batteries will become discontinued rendering the saw useless. They did this on the old 24V stuff and I liked the idea then but when paying hundreds of dollars for a tool that wont be used all day every day you want it to last. Milwaukee would be smart to do this as well for the same reason.
  2. This is a sad day, all my favorite stores growing up are going out of business Sears and Radio Shack Sears had retail by the balls back in the day wouldn't have taken much for them to remain on top but they F-ed that up.
  3. Free tool/batter when buying Flexvolt kits on Amazon, this might be the deal that pushes me to get the 60V circular saw as I hear the DCD996 is a beast of a drill.... https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_link_518917242_1?ie=UTF8&node=15019022011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_r=SB3QP8XY6N8TAWXWWN5S&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=2952924602&pf_rd_i=B01H9BLW90

I got the same kit, been eyeing this kit for a while and almost pulled the trigger when I saw it come with free 20V tools, glad I waited! Great to have another backup kit! The only Con that is also a pro is the retention system they have in the case it holds the sockets so when it is a pain to get them out, I usually have to use a wrench to something to pry them out, but I am glad to have the retention system so if I kick the case when open I don't have to worry about the loose sockets flying.
  5. I'll second this, I'm redoing a room and I'm only putting Roxul back in after seeing what 30 year of fiber glass looks like, plus mice won't nest in it! Big plus for me. Goes up easy and cut easy. I'm a fan as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I'm so jealous and pissed I missed this, been looking at that polisher for years and for that special price I would have jump all over it like a fat kid in a candy store! But at the same time it been a crazy month for me and buying new tools. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Yea can't sign in with TapaTalk either
  8. I just picked up with saw and was just thinking that if this was brushless it would be even better, but with that said this saw does everything I am expecting and I am actually loving it, now I am using it for mainly for rough stuff but will be using this for all the finished work on my second floor as I don't want to lug my 780 up the stairs. This saw fills a niche for portability which the 780 lacks, I don't see this replacing my 780, but will be used where the inconvenience of a cord and portability is welcomed.
  9. I am glad to hear they are coming out with a 60V adapter as I think that will open the market for the DIYers, heck I'd buy the 7 1/4 saw if I knew there was an adapter in case my one battery is depleted.
  10. I just picked up a DCS361 Sliding Miter, DCF620, DCS551, and a DCF887. So far only have used the miter saw and I must saw this will complement my DWS780 nicely, I mounted it to my miter stand and been using it for my remodel. I like how it's not plugged in and I don't have to worry about tripping over a power cord there are enough tripping hazards in the room
  11. I would like to see more hybrid tools as @Bremon said for longevity as these tools aren't cheap and for a homeowner we want to make sure out expensive tools last, which is why I bought the DWS-780, if the 790 was out last year I would have bought that. for this reason I'd stay away from the current flexvolt table saw, but if they had a cord adapter it would make it more appealing. Overall I think they should make more corded replacements making odd blade size tools might hold some back. I'd like to see a premium circular saw and recip saw that have the bells and whistles of their little brothers.
  12. I am with @Bigmikez I am looking forward to this, I am not a contractor and don't need the power but at the moment I just want a 7 1/4 on my 20v line, I brought this up a few months ago. This is overall a good idea as not everyone is a contractor and the homeowner/DIYer might not want a separate battery for their circular saw, if I used it day in and day out then I would go with the flexvolt but when I use the say I need to make sure I can get the job done and I have plenty of 20v batteries to cut up a house This is not to say I wont buy a DCS576 when it comes out or the flexvolt track saw but for me and how I use it a 20v saw is enough for me.
  13. I have seen this issue on my 20V's as well or just that debris doesn't really play well with the slider buttons. My 20v recip that I used mainly for demo has a harder than other to remove batteries and the removal click is significantly louder. I don't find it an issue was it caught me by surprise when I was switching batteries between tools I thought something was damaged.
  14. I haven't heard of this specific product but a I just spray foamed my roof and one of the contractors I got a quote from said they put up a cloth and blow in recycled denim dense packed I was intrigued and they stood behind it. I would have considered it more if they followed up with a quote [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks for the image this is exactly what I've been looking for, those batteries are bigger but the 60V are still quite a bit larger. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Those caulk savers are great! I put them on a tube of liquid nails and it was still fresh 3-4 months later! Same with some silicon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Yea they did? I'm really thinking of buying into the M18 line as I like the amount of tools they offer and I already have a decent amount of their M12 line
  18. These are good machines! and this was one hell of a deal!
  19. This was kind of my thinking as well, but they have those compact batteries, I am just glad they are looking at run time.
  20. I wait to see how this all plays out, those flexvolt packs are huge, but if a similar ah pack is the same size regardless if 20V or 20V/60V then I guess it really doesn't matter.
  21. @Bremon Thanks, this is what I thought, as the from what I see they are huge!
  22. How is the size of the Milwuakee 9ah vs Flexvolt 9ah vs a "normal" 5ah battery?
  23. The Flexvolt batteries are massive compared to the 5ah, I hope they are not that large....
  24. Ok, glad to see they are still increasing ah, but will we see a 9aH 20V only battery or will they stop at 6? I'm sure everyone is aware but the 20/60V 9ah packs are not 9ah for 60V as they are 1/3 of this at 3ah. I feel Dewalt is playing a little marketing games for these batteries as some people unknowingly might think these are 6ah or 9ah for 60V tools when they are really 2ah and 3ah. From what I see with reviews the 60v Circular Saw is doing a great job with low amp hour batteries and think once they get 60V @ 9ah batteries these tools might really be incredible. I might buy into the red line to fill in some of these gaps.
  25. I can understand that, but I was a little depressed when I saw the size difference didn't realize how much bigger the 20V/60V batteries were.
