  1. Thanks for the response, since you seem to have loads of Bosch tools, I will keep your advice when deciding what to buy. Thanks, FB82
  2. From what I have seen on Homedepot.com is both are at $129.99.... so I would just buy the 5.0 if that still is the case.
  3. After extensive research I am going to go with a 10" saw, just still debating about the brand. Have read good things about Bosch, Makita and DeWalt. Unless I can find something glaring, I might just go with the cheapest option here.... even though I know I'll be forking over about $900 (including the stand). FB82
  4. Yeah, cordless would have been better. Too bad there is no way you will find a price that cheap for a cordless hammer drill and grinder.
  5. I guess it all depends on what you are using them for? Are you just a DIY type guy around the house? Or are you doing side jobs here or there? If it is just around the house you could go with the standard 18/20V, or you could go with a smaller 12V. Personally, if it is just around the house stuff I would go with a 12V line. Also, if you're thinking about brands, Bosch, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita all make excellent tools. If you're looking at a 12V line I would go with Milwaukee personally. However, I have heard that DeWalt makes a good impact in that line as well. I don't think you will make a bad decision in your selection, depending on what applications you plan to use the tool for. 6. Interesting. I was under the impression that this stuff wasn't going to come out with anything new. Also, I had never really heard anything good about the M28 line. It will be interesting to see how the products do.
  7. Yeah, they are both pretty expensive. With that being said, I guess I would rather buy something that I know won't break and or have the head fly off when I am using it! The old school guys still use the wood handles, but I guess I just don't feel like putting nails in the head when it starts to loosen. FB82
  8. Yeah, it seems like it would be handy for the price. I never complain about getting an expensive tool, however, I do complain about getting something too cheap that doesn't do what I need it to do. I might just fork over the loot and see what happens.
  9. Seems like a pretty good deal! Never used the ratchet, but I have heard good things from people who do small engine work and what not. However, I have also heard that the torque is not as advertised, when comparing what Milwaukee says compared to an actual torque wrench. FB82
  10. Yeah, I currently have Milwaukee stuff. There was no real rhyme or reason why I picked Milwaukee, but I have not been disappointed thus far. There are other cordless tools from different brands that I like, but I don't really feel like owning a bunch of different batteries and what not. Thinking about getting the 5/8" SDS brushless hammer drill from Milwaukee. We do lots of tapcons and small holes in concrete, so I think this would be a good tool for work. The corded version will still have it's place on site, but I might have to get my hands on the cordless version.
  11. Both are great, but I would probably go with the drill myself. If you're just going to be around the house I think that would be sufficient for your uses. The drill is obviously going to fasten screws, but it can also drill holes and so forth. Unless you are getting into concrete applications I don't see why you would need an impact IMO. FB82
  12. Obviously not the same price, but as Tool Junkie said, the Milwaukee M12 3.0 were $70.00 I believe for a two pack around Christmas time. Can't pass up deals on batteries, since that seems to always be the thing that goes out first.
  13. At the Home Depot and I saw this deal on a 1" hammer drill for $199.99. Seems decent since it also comes with a 4 1/2" grinder. Fair market price?

    5 point laser

Gpl5s GCL25 Does anyone have a 5 point laser made by Bosch? Going to buy a laser soon and I am looking for feedback. Not really sure what one to buy, the GPL5S which does plumb and square ($199.99). Or the GCL25 which has a combination cross line ($349.99). Ant information or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, FB82
  15. I like that 36V Makita option. While I don't currently own any Makita cordless tools, it might be something that I explore. I have seen some of their cordless lawn tools and they look pretty cool. Also, they make other items that most companies don't, chainsaw, fan, etc. FB82
  16. I saw an Irwin set at Lowes that was around $70 or so. I thought it was a little expensive, but that seems pretty accurate based on the research I have done. I liked the Irwin one because of the nice case it came with. Seems easier to keep organized with a case and what not. FB82
  17. Looking to buy a nice set of wood chisels. Currently, I have a three back that are basic and cheap. Looking to get something that is a little better. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Also, anyone sharpen them yourself? Thanks, FB82
  18. Yeah, it is all dependent on what you are going to be doing. I think that the m12 system is perfect for random stuff around the house and work working personally. Small enough for any application, but still powerful. FB82
  19. They say on the list that you should have all tools within 30 days.... but lets get real here, that Is no likely for the average Joe. Tools are expensive, so unless you owned them prior to this job the average person is not going to be able to buy all of those tools in one calendar month. Also, you guys make a good point in that a person usually takes care of their tools a lot better than the companies or someone else's tools. I personally like owning my own since I can use them whenever I want. FB82
  20. I own the 12v fuel and I like it better than my 18v to be honest. Don't get me wrong, the 18v has it's place, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. However, for around the house and woodworking I think the 12v is the way to go. So much lighter and there isn't really anything that it can't do in terms of house remodels and so forth.
  21. If this is a sexual innuendo then I would have to agree.
  22. Used two of the micro clamps recently on kick plates and they worked great! They are the perfect size for fitting in between the door and the jamb. Not sure if they are better or worse than Irwin, but they worked for what I needed them for. I would recommend buying the small ones for anyone that might be doing trim or similar applications. FB82
  23. Seems like this might be the way to go if you're not looking for overkill with your drill/impact. I own the 18 fuel and they are nice, but that drill is a complete hog and it kind of heavy in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it works great on the site, but this new kit seems like something that would be good for smaller applications or even at home use.
  24. Have not had a chance to test this out, but it seems awesome from the videos and reviews I have read. Saw it rip through OSB sheets with no problem! I guess I didn't find out how the power and speed compares to the corded counterpart, but for that price it must be close or even exceed it! I currently have the brushed 6 1/2", so I'm not sure I can justify owning two cordless models at the 18V level. Unless someone can tell me the purchase is absolutely necessary? Thanks for the post.
