  1. I just build a lot of furniture when I am messing around a night. Little bit of log stripping, pallets, countertops, etc. I have one currently, but it is a piece of junk. An upgrade is much needed at this point. Fb82
  2. Any opinions on the best belt sander? I hear a lot about Porter Cable and Makita on this! Also, what is the way to go... 3x21 or 3x24? Thanks, FB82
  3. Nice! I'll look forward to your review on how they work! Always have been curious about the 3/8" impact! FB82
  4. Good input, thanks. I know the bare tool at Home Depot is about $80.00 for the M12, so I might just go with that. Seems adequate enough for what I will need it for. FB82
  5. I don't need it for anything in particular, it is just something that would have came in handy on a few occasions for work/home. Honestly, I might just go with the M12 tool as it is smaller and can fir into tight spaces and so forth. However, I usually feel a little more comfortable buying tools when I hear a few thoughts on them first. FB82
  6. Does anyone own the right angle drill for either M12 or M18? I am looking to get one and can't decide which line I would like to go with. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks, FB82
  7. Good buy, they really come in hand for lots of different projects. I personally have a DeWalt and I have no complaints about it.
  8. Nordraw (and others) makes a good point, if you can afford it you should just get a combo kit so that way you won't be disappointed. If you're looking at the 12v stuff it runs for under $150 or so for the brushed combo. If you want 18v you can get the kit for $200ish with the small batteries. Buying both would solve your dilemma and not leave you emptied handed..... so to speak. FB82
  9. All look like good buys! Really like the clamps, somehow they are something that I don't own much of.
  10. Yeah, I have heard that the charger is awesome and makes it much more convenient for the working tradesmen. I will have to go on CPO and take a look and order. Thanks for the responses. FB82
  11. Seems like a pretty decent deal for the Bosch Drill and Impact. Does that impact/wrench work pretty good? Like as far as power? Or is it mainly just more convenient since you don't have to put on an adapter for sockets?
  12. Has anyone heard when the M12/M18 charger is coming out.... or has it already? I can't seem to find it yet! It seems kind of ridiculous that I want to buy it (when I own 4 M12 chargers) but I think it could make things easier and less cluttered when working. Any input would be great. Thanks, FB82
  13. Thanks for the input, have only heard good things about Makita's model. Ill re-post when I make a decision and actually buy the tool, FB82
  14. I am a Marshalltown guy myself, as most of my hand tools are that brand. It all depends, not too much smooth finish as we mostly use machines and lasers for that now. Sticking to sidewalks, pads, driveways.. etc. Mostly do it on the side, that's where the money is at. Just needing to get the expensive stuff so I can do bigger projects. FB82
  15. Thanks for the input! Actually, I am pretty sure the Bosch is about $50.00 cheaper or so.
  16. Anyone have any advice on corded hand planners? I have heard good things about DeWalt's and very good things about Makita's... just looking into getting something new. Both seem to be about the $150.00 or so mark. Thanks, FB82
  17. Don't see this discussed much on the forums, but does anyone on here have a preference on concrete tools? As far as the hand stuff I have almost everything I need, but looking at getting a bull float and a fresno. Anyone have suggestions? FB82
  18. I just want to get something in and out of the pickup when necessary, but also something that is easy to move around the garage. Might look at a few more reviews in terms of the stand.
  19. Nice grab. Good price for something that seems to be decent quality.
  20. Could have the ultimate tool fight here between the three big dogs! Be interesting to see how it performs. FB82
  21. Do you think sanding it off could dig the paint into the wood? Therefore creating for sanding and what not? I have dealt with wood projects, but not so much in completely redoing someone else's work. FB82
  22. Came across a guy who is going to give me an old oak table. However, it currently has paint on it and it needs to be redone. Any advice on the proper way to take the paint off? Not sure if I want to plane it because I am worried about the paint being buried into the wood. Scrape it by hand? Any advice would be appreciated. FB82
  23. Man... can't beat a free stand! I might have to jump on that deal to save a little cash. Seems the consensus is Bosch or DeWalt. FB82
