  1. IT also has the Dewalt bluetooth speaker DCR006 on special for $39.99. http://www.internationaltool.com/specials/black-friday/batteries-chargers-accessories/dewalt-dcr006-wireless-bluetooth-speaker
  2. I used to buy all of my hotmelt glue and applicators from PAM back when I was running my business if Florida. Their 3/4" stick glue guns were awesome for the applications we used them for. You could run a bead of glue non stop through an entire 12" stick without issue.
  3. Crikey, @KC_Tool Have to leave your website before I start replacing all my hand tools. Found several items I missed on the first order and... You can combine the two orders if it saves you on shipping.
  4. Channellock.com is offering 25% off purchases on their site for Black Friday. Coupon code is thanks25, and valid through the 28th. https://www.channellock.com/
  5. Thanks for the reminder, forgot to vote this morning...
  6. Getting an error code when I try to use that link...
  7. Call me a sucker for a 20% off deal. Just placed my first order with KC. Get to relegate all my old smelly craftsman screwdrivers to some dark corner now.
  8. Makita 4ah battery $49.99. http://www.internationaltool.com/specials/black-friday/batteries-chargers-accessories/makita-bl1840-18v-lxt-lithium-ion-4-ah-battery The $25 Holiday discount applies, so three batteries in the cart = $124.97 with free shipping. These are the old style without the gauge on them, but that is the best price I have ever seen on 4ah batts.
  9. Meh, Amazon is pissing me off. Late last night I ordered the Makita impact, and today they drop the price again. As it has not shipped I attempt to cancel the order, and they refuse because they are preparing to ship it. They also refuse to make a price adjustment due to policy. Their email system is a pain in the rear and seems to be automated bots responding to the requests as the time lag between requests and refusals were between 10 and 30 seconds for each one. I have totally lost interest in purchasing the item at this point, no matter what the price...

    Tool awards.

I would have to say that tool reviews affect my tool choices more than any award a tool receives. I tend to be a bit skeptical of awards by individual blogs or sites that do not consider user opinions in the process.
  12. Makita XDT12z impact driver $151.08 minus $25 holiday discount = $126.08 https://www.amazon.com/Makita-XDT12Z-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Quick-Shift/dp/B01MCS0H1G/ref=sr_1_7?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1479866367&sr=1-7&keywords=makita+impact+driver Hell of a deal on one of the newer Makita tools. Knowing Amazon though, the price may bounce around a bit. When I first looked at it tonight it was $157.02. And the price has dropped again. It is now $142.95 minus $25 coupon = $117.95

    Miter Table Saw

Yup, @comp56 that's another one the mind balks at...
  14. Every time I see a picture of this saw, my mind just balks at the concept. http://virutex.com/mitertablesawcombination.aspx If you watch some of the videos on it, there seems to be a large amount of thought to the design and options on it, but I can't help but get the feeling they are trying to do too much in too small of a space. It's like the Mad Hatter of tools.
  15. If you count the number of 690 bases in those drawers, you'll get an idea of how many of those I killed over the years. i.e. Killed meaning no longer worth rebuilding.
  16. Impact drivers are not suitable for lug nuts in general. For removing wheel nuts from the basic car hub, an impact wrench with a rating of 120 ft pounds or higher would be better suited. For reinstalling the nuts though, an impact is not the best choice. Always start the nut by hand to insure that you are not cross threading it first, and then you may use a power tool to spin the nut down until contact, if you so desire. You then need to use a torque wrench on the proper setting to tighten the nuts to proper spec. Over tightening lug nuts can cause a variety of problems, and an impact wrench will almost certainly apply too much torque when used to tighten them. Even using a speed wrench can apply too much torque, which can gall the studs, or worse, stretch them beyond spec causing them to break when under critical stress. At the very least, over tightening a lug nut can make it difficult for someone to change out a rim in an emergency situation. In the end, you may use what you want, or what works for you, but it is highly recommended that you set the nuts (or bolts) to the correct torque setting as specified in your owners manual.
  17. Personal perspective has that way of biting you on the arse at times. For all of the issues I deal with on a daily basis, I know that there are those around me that are fighting things that would make me collapse under the weight. Such as the friend who recently announced that he was just diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time, who is also going through a divorce, and yet still seems to be able to maintain a positive attitude and confidence that he will come out on top and beat it again. Many of my issues seem somewhat trivial in comparison. I am alive. This is my response to people who ask how I am doing. Some people get it, and others seem to think it is a pessimistic comment. I am still on two feet, walking on my own. When visiting the VA hospital, I see so many who are not as fortunate to still be fully mobile, and my personal perspective readjusts each time for every example life displays for me of what could be. I woke up on the right side of the dirt today. I hope to again tomorrow as well. The rest is just life in between moments going forward, and pain is a reminder that sometimes we need to slow down, even when it seems like it's impossible to do so. I would really like to be able to run again though, instead of walking all the time...
  18. Went digging after a router today... Production routers on left, solid surface custom routers on right. Basic units and bases left, trimmer setups on right. Plunge routers. Factory & custom base plates. Only use most of the factory plates saw was as templates for the custom ones made out of quarter inch thick Corian. I am a firm believer in setting up a router for a specific task, and only changing out the bit when it gets dull. I keep a couple of routers for the rest of the bits used on an intermittent basis... Hrmm, think there is another router somewhere else in this mess... or maybe it's just a base... There is another small drawer dedicated to misc. router parts, wrenches, etc.. Meh. I need to pull it all out of the drawers and sort some things out, but that will have to wait until I get a shop set back up again.

    Home Depot

If you read through the questions and answers on the HD site, you will find that it is a hit or miss tool. Evidently the motor is mounted to the tool with plastic mounts and those can show up cracked right from the factory. Others have reported problems with blade misalignment to the table and no visible adjustments. But for $99, you can always take your chances and return it if it doesn't do the job.
  20. This is what Comcast says they supply me with for a monthly fee.. They even falsify the test data by writing code in their system to recognize when certain speed test sites are accessed and open up the pipe to show whatever your data plan is supposed to show... This is what they actually supply... At least until they rewrite their code to include this site.....
  21. CPO 30% off clearance item sale this last week. Ended yesterday and these drills are still on clearance, but the price is $145.
  22. Picked up two of these for Christmas presents for my nephews. My last order before the 30% off went away. Bought in pairs they were $101.50 ea. Probably should have bought up the rest they had, but I am sooooo far over my tool budget this year, I couldn't bring myself to do so. Man, we really do live in a global world. I already have one of the four speed drills, and it was produced in Germany. These two speed drills are made in PRC. The 4ah batteries are made in Korea. The 3ah batteries are made in Japan, and the 2.4ah batteries show as made in China. One of the Fein chargers I have was made in Germany, and the rest show as made in China. The super-cut I have is made in Germany, and in some of the other recent kits, from other brands that I have picked up, the different pieces in them come from all different parts of the world too. I will say this though; I think the Fein tool cases that come with these kits are some of the best designed out there compared to any of the others I have picked up over the last five years.
  23. Back in 84 I had a boss that was color blind. He told a story about how he had gone down to the local paint store and picked out a nice soft green for his bedroom walls. He was just finishing up the second wall when behind him he hears his sister exclaim, "Oh my GAWD, what the @#%^ are you doing". He turned around and said to her, "It's not green is it". She in turn responded, "It's Hot PINK!!". He said that was the last time he tried to pick a color on his own.
  24. http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/bosch-1605510342-protective-cover.html Number 751 on the schematic. Not sure what size it is, but the parts list shows both a seven and nine inch backing pad available for the grinder. You can always contact their customer service and ask first.
