what is their plan for working with x2 tools? Some tools have different battery layouts. ex the x2 robot vac vs x2 rear handle circ saw. Maybe it will only work with side by side layouts?

Ordered the new Tough System cooler on sale at Acme for $119.99. I also ordered the new 20v max inflator and preordered 2 of the new Tough System drawer units (supposed to start shipping nov 30).

@Albertd718 I started with the DeWALT guide rails and I did extensive searching on squares for the rails and every option was either discontinued or wasn't compatible. I considered the used route from places like ebay and the like but from research on the square DeWALT made for their guide rails I found many people said it wasn't square out of the box. I decided to try out a more premium option and it was worth every penny.

Anyone ever heard of ASV? This company started as ASV, got bought by Terex, and is now back to ASV. Stanley Dirt Monkey just posted an interesting video about this company. They were one of the first to bring compact track loaders to North America back in the 80's. Stanley used to own one a number of years ago and did not like it. He seems to like them now. Are they any good? A couple things that stood out to me were the reps mentioned that the price doesn't matter to them. They aren't afraid to have a more premium price point. I also found out is it is a compact track loader built from the ground up to be a compact track loader. It is not a compact wheel loader converted to a compact track loader. I have seen videos on them and they seem convincing that the ASV is performs better than the competition in many categories. I don't wanna say it was rigged or faked but companies always try to make their products seem better than the competition. It seems to have some nice features but those could mean nothing if the quality and performance are not there.

What do you guys think about slab flattening mills? Would you make your own or find one available to buy? I recently got word of Woodpeckers coming out with a slab flattening mill and had some interest in the product. I have had interest in having a slab flattening mill some time ago when I received a a router from my uncle but it kinda went to the back of my mind. @Albertd718 if you are open to buy the Festool guide rails then you can buy the grs-16 square or the grs-16 pe. Both work great. The DeWALT track saw will work with the Festool guide rails.

I seen Stanley is getting an exclusive partnership with Home Depot. I'm not sure if it just means Fatmax or Stanley as a whole. What do you guys think? Will it affect other retailers much? Might not even do much to other retailer except for Lowes and Menards. Some of the smaller stores sell what ever brands they want to sell regardless of exclusivity to Home Depot.

I like Makita but I haven't had much use with anything of theirs. I wouldn't mind getting some Makita because they make some nice stuff and even some stuff other brands don't have that I wouldn't mind trying. I haven't heard many people if any who don't like Makita apart from those who are super fans of their favorite brand and wouldn't be caught using anything else.

@fm2176 I thought my CT48 was worth it. The new hose alone is a lot nicer than most other vacs out there, and it is hard to go wrong with the less noise this vac outputs than many other vacs. I also like that you can attach systainers to it. I think there is an aftermarket tstak adapter that can fit on Festool vacs if a guy has tstak. Might even be l-boxx or tough system adapters too but I'm not for sure.

What about do something like what Sams Club is to Walmart? Pay a yearly price and you get a membership that allows you to receive the benefits of shopping at Sams Club. I think a membership store owned by HD wouldn't be a bad idea. They could even charge a higher fee for membership to combat the money they might lose. Market it more towards the tradesman/pro and provide better services than what a normal HD has to offer and I think any contractor will see the benefit of getting the membership.

Whatever plastic is used it is very strong and durable. The lack of flex makes it pretty convincing that it could be metal. Also with the spring on the blade release as strong as it is, you would think a plastic lever would break or bend. Kinda cool how far plastic technology has come.

Makita still has the older design but with a few tweaks. I don't think their chuck goes into the housing like the Metabo HTP and it is also spring loaded which would seem helpful.

I seen multivolt at my local Menards. Metabo HTP has really improved the design of their stuff as of late and if feels nice. I remember back when people use to say Hitachi had an alien design. I am not sure why on the tab on the battery slot on the recip sticks down so much. It probably a good 1in. There is one design flaw of this recip vs some other recips. If the chuck has slid all the way back after you stop the saw, you can't get your fingers in to rotate it to remove the blade. If the chuck has slide all the way forward you shouldn't have much issue. It isn't a big issue but could potentially be one. I'm sure other recips with similar blade releases could have similar issues but I'm not sure.

Hmm always thought the DeWALT was metal. It at least feels and looks like metal but who knows nowdays plastics can be quite convincing they are metal.

Does the Makita x2 stud and joist drill have it?

is it a gen 3 with more power/better performance? or just a DCD996/DCD997 with antikickback?

The one I am receiving is supposed to arrive on Monday. Gonna give it to a coworker who I think could use it. His Milwaukee isn't working and his DeWALT is a bit old (DW056 impact driver).

Coming to Europe in January. Not announced for North America yet. Has touch controls instead of dials, filter cleaning mechanism, and access to filter from outside.

This is a task for a heavy duty right angle drill. The Milwaukee Hole Hawg, Super Hawg, Makita X2, and DeWALT Flexvolt should have the torque to do a 6 in hole saw. The latest and greatest drill drivers/hammerdrill drivers might have the power but I am not for sure. If you already have a drill driver I would suggest getting the X2 since you have Makita stuff.

New/updated concrete nailer from DeWALT geared more for electrical/drywall trades. Shoots shorter nails but is also smaller in size.
