  1. You planning on getting the tough system cooler to hold all those bottles of water?
  2. didn't even know the bit holders were still available. Nice setup
  3. Acme tool has them in stock with a special price if you buy 2. $18 off if I remember right if you buy 2. Also with the YELLOW promo code you could add a bit more DeWALT to your order to make the total reach a certain amount and you could get some more money off. Not sure if the 2 drawer deal is compatible with the yellow deal or not. I contacted them today to see if they are going to ship out my two soon. They haven't gotten back to me yet.
  4. Since it is over 1 year old the free service agreement is up. I still have the limited warranty but I'm thinking my issue is a wear and tear issue which is not covered. I contacted DeWALT about the broken tool and they said I need proof of purchase. My options are drive 30 or so miles from where I live in Nebraska to the nearest authorized DeWALT service center or send it to Kansas where the big DeWALT service center is located. I did some further research on parts lists/diagrams and if my hypothesis is correct the motor is delivering power to the gear housing but the gear housing is no longer transferring that power to the blade. If the whole gear housing needs replaced that is $60 usd just to buy a new gear housing not including labor to instal. If a portion of my current housing can be fixed the part cost might be cheaper but with labor it might be a wash. A brand new DCS355 bare is around $140 new. I was thinking at the price I would have to pay to fix my broken one I might as well pay a bit more to get a brand new DCS355 or maybe I might upgrade to starlock.
  5. checked today and they are in stock so hopefully we will be receiving them soon.
  6. Bought the SysRock, a second limit stop for my guide rails, and a pica dry pencil with a pack of black refills from Tool Nut
  7. I was wondering about your guy's opinions on when a guy should fix a tool and when it would be more cost effective just to replace the tool. Last week my OMT went bad and I'm not sure if it would be worth fixing or if I should just replace (can't seem to find a proof of purchase anywhere so no warranty for me)
  8. I preordered a couple drawer units and have yet to receive them. They must be pretty popular or else DeWALT is having a hard time creating inventory. I can't wait to use them. They will be so handy for small items like my hand tools. I have thought about getting the 4 port fast charger. I have contemplated selling some of my other fast chargers to make up for the $200 price tag.
  9. There is a combo kit of sorts that includes the workshop rack and 5 or so boxes. If you are looking to get a lot of tough system this might be an option because you save a bit of cash. There is also a couple other combos for the carts as well.
  10. many brands have products with surprising country of manufacturer. I wonder where other boxes are built? packout, lboxxes, systainers, etc.
  11. @JakeDewalt Nice setup. Do you wish you went with the van rack or has the wall rack been just fine?
  12. I see they went with the lever style of locking mechanism. I think I prefer the screw style now. The DeWALT may be big but it has a lot more features pack in. You get 12v car adapter storage, dedicated light, high volume mode, high pressure mode, and storage for all the attachments and hoses.
  13. The connected ones seem really nice. A guy could setup the laser at the distance needed then can make adjustments without having to be at the laser.
  14. if you take into account the exchange rate of AUS$ and US$ then the 9.0/3.0 is actually cheaper in Australia.
  15. I have heard green also has a longer range vs red. I just realized (sorry to get off topic) DeWALT isn't using the standard model number naming scheme for the cordless lasers. Usually a 20v max or flexvolt tool has DC(letter[sometimes another letter]) and a few numbers behind.
  16. A store near where I live is doing a $50 off bare tool deal. I think the store is assocciated with do it best so maybe other do it best stores have this deal? They don't always have good prices mostly average at best but with the $50 off it would make some items cheaper than other stores.
  17. might as well switch to Makita?
  18. the circular saw is a 7-1/4 inch diameter. It is not a compact saw. The recip is a compact recip. Compact tools generally have a lower price. I would avoid using 2 ah batteries in any circ saws especially the 7 inchers. Using one on a 6 incher is bad enough but a 7 incher is almost unusable. You might get half a dozen cuts at most with very little power. The 5 ah kit may be more expensive but it is a lot better option if you are planning to use circular saws. More work can get done with a 5ah due to having 5 extra cells at the tools disposal. I haven't found a brushless kit with the 5ah and circ saw but there is one with the 5ah and recip saw. It also includes an upgraded hammer drill. It is the DCD996 which has more power and a 3 speed gearbox.
  19. new saws and updated saws are coming. Including table saws. Some speculate with SawStop tech
  20. The way you can tell what DeWALT tools are brushless is the grip. They have a yellow section that says brushless. Since you already have tue 20v max grease gun I would go with DeWALT.
  21. Will these come to north america?
  22. I think the deal you got with the free battery and packout is hard to beat. As good as the gen 3's are, apart from the below average cooling, you will probably find the gen 2's will be good enough for 99% of what you need to do with them.
  23. Sorry no can do. That is the equivalent of calling turkey, Bacon. There is only one Bacon and that is Bacon.
  24. I heard you guys mention wanting to try out more live content. May I suggest trying a live format with the tool fights? Might make them more engaging and enjoyable for all. The live viewers might even be able to suggest things to try with the tools.
  25. I seen that Toolsbydesign had a post in his stories that showed a picture of what look to me like a new Festool OMT. This tool is clearly cordless but whether it uses the standard 18v packs or the ergo packs is hard to tell. The front almost reminded me of the Fein Supercut especially with the new release lever. The blades reminded me of Starlock with the raised part and I am leaning towards it being Starlock but with the picture quality as low as it is I am not 100% sure. All my speculations are coming from this one picture. I don't even know if it is real or not. I hope it is because it might mean more companies are on board with Starlock.
