  1. Will the plunge saw use Metabo's guide rails, seen at World of Concrete, that kinda combined the Maffel guide rails with the Festool?
  2. I was wondering if the Surfix oil application system works with oils other than the Festool oils. Maybe something like Osmo, Rubio Monocoat, etc. I would guess the buffing pads for the sanders would also work with other oils too?
  3. New Kits coming April 1st. Basically the old airstream kits will now have bluetooth battery kit options. Also the sanders will have bluetooth kit options as well. Most kits you can upgrade to the bluetooth batteries for only $20 extra which seemed pretty reasonable. Other kits have the same price for the bluetooth kit as the normal kit. The TSC55 kits are the worst deal at a $40 increase over the non bluetooth kits.
  4. Yeah If I get a cordless DeWALT vac I will wait for a Flexvolt Tough System version. Needs dual battery, DS400 in size, minimum of 150 cfm for MORE POWA!!! tm, and cordless tool activation.
  5. DeWALT is not following the standard model number naming scheme for cordless tools.
  6. I believe some of the World of Concrete instagram posts showed it in the middle of a stack.
  7. @reddawg60 thanks. My design is similar but instead of two 2x4's six feet tall I am using four. They will be on the four corners of a roughly 2'x2' plywood base and top. This will allow me to dry shorter items. If I make a second rack I can dry shorter and longer items at the same time.
  8. Max Tool and Factory Authorized Outlet have very similar websites. Might be owned by the same entity?
  9. For cutting lots of pieces a metal cutoff saw does a decent job. A multi material saw (basically a metal cutoff saw with a tooth blade) also could be an option. I wonder if a bandsaw with metal blade would be a better option if you plan to tape multiples together and cut at once. Speaking of stainless rod, how strong is the 1/8 inch stainless rod, and is it expensive? Looking at designing a drying rack that uses metal rods for placing casing, siding, etc. on to dry after paint/finish. Would 1/8 inch be strong enough for what I plan to dry on it or should I go with 1/4 inch? I don't plan on the rods spanning any more than 36 inches.
  10. Will be interesting to see the power ratings.
  11. Giveaways like UTB are supposedy returning when the new TIA headquarters are fully up and running. I may be a young one here (24) and one would probably think the younger people would prefer IG and YT over a forum. I prefer the forum in many ways over YouTube and Instagram. I still heavily use IG and YT but the forum still has its place. It is so much easier to discuss tool stuff here, ask questions, etc. I find it a lot more organised with better ways to send messages. I feel as though questions and whatnot tend to get missed more often on IG and YT then they do here.
  12. @Cynan The newly updated Bessey K Body Revo clamps are awesome. I got a few and they have never slipped once. Their strength is plenty for any project I have used them for. I recommend going with parallel clamps. Bessey is the best option in my opinion for parallel clamps. You can find a decent price on the 24in and the 50 in at home depot. Quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else when I bought mine last year. The new model has KRE in the name. Pricing on other sizes are kinda strange so I wouldn't buy any other sizes. Acme tools has a better selection of the KRE clamps and prices of other sizes are better than HD. Jet is probably a close second. I'm not a big fan of pipe clamps. They are a reasonable low cost option for long glue-ups but not ideal in my opinion. I have never used the sash clamps. They seem pretty similar to Parallel clamps. Triggers clamps have their place. The speed and connivence are great. I use them in conjunction with my parallel clamps. Trigger clamps for your average everyday clamping tasks and the parallel for heavy duty clamping jobs like glue ups. I hope this helps.
  13. Please be respectful to all brands including ones you dislike. I think the mods would much appreciate it. Thank you. @ChrisK
  14. @midogrumpy got you covered. I started one awhile back.
  15. The new Bosch stuff is pretty sweet. Flexiclick in 18v.Also includes an sds chuck for the flexiclick. A new saw with a similar style to the Maffel track compatible cordless carpentry saws or the Festool HKC. No word on a cordless TS style track saw. Also a new brushless bulldog hammer drill with an vac attachment that is powered by a second core battery. Bosch also has an 8-1/2 in cordless miter saw coming out. DeWALT also has a new 2 in flexvolt hammer drill. 19 joules of energy. Comes with a 12.0 battery in kit. @Framer joe MORE POWA!!! tm Metabo has a new grinder called the channel chaser. Makes dadoes in concrete.
  16. The 5 ah will improve performance of these tools. With the drill and impact you won't hardly see any difference in performance. I have a couple 2 ah and a handful of flexvolt 2/6 ah which are more powerful than the 5 ah. The only difference I have seen when using either battery on a drill/impact is runtime. The power isn't noticeably different. The tools you will want a larger battery for are your circular saws, grinders, routers, planners, etc. Basically the tools that need lots of juice to run. May I suggest looking into Flexvolt batteries as well? They work in most 20v max tools including all the ones you listed.
  17. Interesting. I guess it makes sense in a way. more balanced but could also be less comfortable to use if larger batteries are used because they might stickup into the users hand.
  18. The DeWALT batteries at least here in North America got a sticker redesign recently maybe within a years or so. I have no idea if other markets got a redesign. To me it looks genuine but I could be wrong.
  19. I usually bring cordless stuff on trips like my inflator, heated jacket (during cold months), and impact. Just incase of breakdown.
  20. Would there be any advantage of matchfit over t track? It is basically a t slot vs a dovetail slot right? I like the idea of both a track system and dog holes. Might be able to combine both into one top? On a side note you mentioned vises. Have you seen Andrew Klein's vise? It looks pretty nice. You can switch between fast travel and high torque on the fly. Also he incorporated dog holes into his vise which anyone could do as well.
  21. Ah I understand now. I had been thinking this was goung to be your main bench but makes sense for a lathe table.
  22. AWS backpack vac is coming and includes more cfm and more water lift than the version without AWS
