  1. Thing about Hilti I my area you have to buy through a dealer for tools,accessories...there is no product around too bad cuz Hilti is damn good ,we use all their stuff even lasers...personally I like Dewalt sdsplus but Bosch bits, probably because it’s easy to get things
  2. Can’t go wrong with the 273 for your needs, I liked it for smaller holes, tap cons, light chiseling,,,but the 293 sds plus is just amazing for larger holes and heavy duty construction....
  3. Hope they expand Flexvolt, 10” Cordless mitre
  4. Gotta say I think it’s the best drill on the market, build with these everyday...don’t know what that rattle is. Just the brake makes a grunt....
  5. Bosch extreme, Milwaukee

    Moar Powa!

Wow, that’s really rough framing. ...gotta be over the pond
  7. Never saw that Milwaukee vac, it looks nice
  8. It has a hex bottom...simply put the bit in on its end and lay it down, it snaps in place, no magnets
  9. It’s simple...buy American made if you can always....Americans will appreciate the job you keep them. Or you can buy China crap and support a communist country...which hurts our economy and makes us weaker in the global position. Keeping America strong gives us leverage when dealing with China to put pressure on North Korea from continuing their goal of developing intercontinental ballistic nuclear bombs that will reach the USA and destroy everything you just bought and of course all of us too..... Not to mention American made tools are the best anyway,, Wright tools ...SK...Proto...Snap On...etc...
  10. A third option is keeping your older tools ,like ratchets and upgrading them with new parts...SK does this a lot. They just recently came out with new ratchets, but you can buy just the gear assembly and install it in your old SK ratchet.... Cordless tools are almost always better new, first gen 1 then wait for gen 3...generally gen 2 will be marginally better. Shop tools are generally more reliable from older models, they won’t have the bells and whistles but usually work well...you can’t beat an older Wilton vise. Some of the best hand tools are still the older styles.....
  11. That’s interesting. How much are the Festool batteries for the new Sanders etc125 something....and what ah are they ? I haven’t researched yet.
  12. I’ve never seen that bit from Dewalt, I’m.with ya....., I love Dewalt tools, but I agree with @framer Dewalt bit cases suck. Milwaukee is better and better bits but the best bits and cases I found are Bosch...easiest to remove and install and the whole row just clicks out..........you can by whole rows of whatever bits you want from Bosch.. All guys on the crews must carry their own bit box with a truss lock bit, timberlock bit, T40,T30,T25,T15, Sq1,Sq 2 and Phillips.....I personally use a bosh box ,clear lid, rubber corners, ( 8$ at lows at Christmas) I carry different brand bits for easy recognition, Dewalt T15, Milwaukee T25, Bosch everything else... I usually buy in bulk packs on amazon, not individual cases, except Black Friday deals....
  13. @Jronman...I like bostich guns, the stick framer( wire 3.5 “) are heavier but shoot nice. Before hitachi we were all paslode...basically the companys I run go by price of nails ,not brands...we buy crates of nails not boxes...the cost of nails is the problems not the brands usually.. but bostich coil nailers are very good also, I think hitachi makes the best finish guns....but I do love my Dewalt “ Precision point” finish guns, with no movement of the tip ,they are awesome, but hitachi has that blow out button..very handy...
  14. Doesn’t make sense, I believe you but I just never had a problem with any of the three I have ,with hundreds of thousands of nails fired. Lot of guys are saying similar things, wierd....
  15. Sorry to hear about your gun, it’s definitely fkd, I never dropped mine on concrete but they’ve been dropped off tall decks 10-15’ onto the ground, just never had a problem with the 3 I have. I’m shooting 3 1/2 paslode galv...and 2 3/8 ring shank ....... hitachi makes real good finish guns, we used hitachi nailers, coiler and framing guns, not coil framers....but switched to bostich a year ago...
  16. I prefer the 887....more torque and I don’t like the 895 chuck.......We use many 887 all day , everyday,,no problems....
  17. The XR is a good upgrade over the older one,,,for a compact sawzall..but nowhere near the Flexvolt ...and of course the Milwaukee......
  18. Found it.... TD171DZ...
  19. Ah the curve claw....let me clarify..first yes safety harnesses and blah blah should be used (osha) or a lull or a man lift, but in the real world of framing,,when plywooding a roof , we just run across the rafters and hand plywood out from inside the house to the exterior..no cleats ( 2x4 nailed on the roof to walk on,as you go) no safety....up to a 9pitch......so....if you slip and fall, a straight claw can save your ass by punching a hole in the roof with your straight claw and hanging on....no hope with a curve claw.....of course swinging your hammer in panic as you slide down the roof is nerve wracking and if you swing and hit a rafter instead......look out below.....it saved my ass twice in 30yrs......
  20. So my other crew I run is all Makita and looking for impacts....is the ..XDT14Z the latest and greatest, ? Good buy ?
