dave13
I am in the market for a cordless chop/mitre saw and have been informed that a 20v / 18v is currently being trialed on site by Dewalt Anyone care to take a guess at a release date. DooDar
Can I ask who has informed you it is being trialled on site?? it always annoys me that loads of people know these things and I cant find any info on any of them!! if the cordless mitre saw is being trialled on site, where? and how come I cant find any pics of it or even any info anywhere? Mr. Yellow
Because, if it's trailed on site it usually means it is still under development and people testing those machines usually have to sign a NDA to not talk about it publicly.
Conductor562
We spotted a Dewalt cordless miter in an unrelated promo video over a year ago. Dan pointed it out and posted it on the blog. Within an hour Dewalt took the video down.
itchyspanner
What I'd love is a small dewalt or milwaukee mitre/ chop saw. Similar in size to the ryobi one. Just for cutting noggins etc..... I currently have to lug a generator and ad saw about just to cut a small amount of noggins, have been thinking about getting the ryobi but I'm not that keen on the brand. chadlanthier
Have the ryobi one, was a great novelty until I realized the battery could not keep up with the work.
Frain20
So much want for a cordless mitre saw..A 110v using a 18v battery when you don't have mains at hands, just like there New vacuum the DCV582 How would one go about getting to trial tools out?? Worth mailing them??
itchyspanner
some have a way of registering interest to test new tools. Bosch were running something not to long ago on there uk website along these lines. I dont know why dewalt would want to hide such tools that are being tested, milwaukee are normally half a year ahead with every tool anyway. DR99
Have the ryobi one, was a great novelty until I realized the battery could not keep up with the work.I got plenty of run time one mine with 4.0ah batteries. I cut about 24 2x4's and probably did 40 or more cuts on the battery and it was only down one bar. Was that back in the Nicad dark ages? Samuel L.
Makita has had one for a few years. Battery absolutly keeps up. =) I look at Makitas and I feel like if they develop a cordless one they should have gone through the effort to make it compact. It looks too big with the fact that it has tons of slide.
kornomaniac
Trade off for being able to saw trough 300 mm wide parts of course =D
chadlanthier
I agree I would rather have bulk and be able to cut any size.
kornomaniac
And it's 13 kilograms and actually quite small in real life. Hardly "bulky "
