Bloch98
I want to get a good stud finder at a fairly cheap price. Wondering if anyone has any suggestion. Would like to try and spend no more than $30.
madman_us
CostCo's studfinder is really good. $35 and really accurate. works like a charm! this here is the same exact stud finder you can find at costco....just for less moneyhttp://www.amazon.com/Precision-Sensors-Professional-Scanning-Profinder/dp/B00OIHLV3Q

NERemodeling
If you have a Costco around you and are a member than their blue version of the Franklin 710 is your best deal, from what i understand they are identical. otherwise I would say go for something like the studpop or any other similar simple magnet type for around $10 or pony up for the Franklin 710 which runs around 50.. everything in between those just end up causing more frustration then they are worth
Nordraw
The Costco one is a great deal and is really the yellow Franklin in a blue jacket.

PaulE
I use this one. Cheap works great on metal studs or finds nails with wood studs. I have bought a few of these. And I am happy with them. CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder

Trim guy
This probably doesn't help you out since I see it's discontinued now. But mine is working well http://t.homedepot.com/p/Zircon-Corporation-StudSensor-e30-Stud-Finder-64129/202184883/It has been dropped way more than I would like but it still works. I've used it so much, I have wore off the cloth pads.

Bigmikez
Agree petew I first bought a zircon then the magnetic Hanson which has made me a couple bucks with no fails then I saw Dan and Eric's review of the Franklin and been hooked to that one since.
