Aviation Style Lamp

Thought I'd share a project my dad has been working on for awhile now. Since his retirement he's been keeping busy with various projects (I.e. Remodeling/updating cabinets, writing books, building stained glass lamps). So I get a text message from him little over a week ago that he finished his Aviation Desk Lamp. It's pretty slick if you ask me... Makes me wish I had the time to do something like this in my spare time.

But what do you guys think? He started recently selling his stained glass lamps around Arizona but has been toying with making more themed style lamps to sell.

The wood used is African Wenge and Bocote from the West Indies. Don't understand why the one picture is sideways... But to move on. This immediately got me thinking what if there was a way to get the gauges to work too. Does anyone here know of a solution to this?
