  1. Crap, you guys get hosed down under for prices. Do you ever visit the USA? It might be worth waiting and picking up a Festool or a Mafell here. Or better yet, get a Mafell through Timberwolf Tools in Maine, have it sent to a friend if you have one here and then ship it out....😎😎😎
  2. Don’t bother with that darn marker they sell, the thing sucks, I’d agree, sharpie that stuff and save the coin but I have two sheets of Kaizen that I use and it is awesome stuff

    Happy New Year

    Happy New Year guys!
  4. I’ve got the HKC but I’m not a pro, rather a hobbyist. Love the saw, I framed out my back deck with it and have done mostly smaller projects with it. I am invested in the Festool line already so it was not a big deal for me to get the saw and I have been pleased with it’s performance but for framing work, I always use my Dewalt Flexvolt saw. Deeper cut and it’s got some crazy torque. I guess I would say if your going to spend the coin, I would probably get the Mafell, it’ll run Metabo batteries. I am not bashing the HKC and don’t have any reason not to love it but if you weren’t happy with the TSC, I doubt you’d be too impressed with the HKC though I love the capabilities of that little saw.
  5. Wow! That is awesome!! That Ryobi vacuum looks to be quite the winner too. Awesome set up, I imagine the work truck is set up similarly?
  6. Jake, that looks awesome. Being a woodworker non pro stay at home lazy dude, I might make some racks in my shop for the smoking deal I posted for the ToughSystem boxes a couple of weeks ago. I’m putting two in my Charger to carry emergency equipment and gun supplies but I already have several I use in the shop that don’t have a permanent place. Thanks for posting I really like the set up!
  7. I have the saw but have only used the 9 and 12 amps. It clearly says you can use the 5s too but I actually don’t have 5s as my Milwaukee tools are quite limited.
  8. Problem with Milwaukee...and Dewalt....and Makita....and Bosch....and..... You buy a tool and the model is replaced within a year or too. That’s why as opposed to asking us tool nuts you should probably consult a psychologist for help dealing with a tool addiction. Welcome to the forums! 🤪
  9. What are you using the bench for? Are you a wood woodworker using hand tools and or power tools? Solid core doors are are a great option for a top with an added surface. I just completed one of two woodworking benches in my shop, one of for multiple types of woodworking tools versus my still uncompleted bench. In both cases I opted to make both benches from our typical white pine soft wood, both tops different but the same in basic structure...laminated face to face after milled and surfaced flat. If you are looking for a general purpose bench for machine work, household chores and diy projects, I think a basic plywood bench would suffice. I had one in my last shop in my old shop that though had limitations was quite solid. I used that bench for woodworking projects as opposed to machine work (they are called....mechanics. Of which I am not) or general diy jobs. I completed more than a few cabinet and small projects with it. Biggest problems I had with my old bench? Lateral movement and lack of clamping space. Welcome me to the forums and Merry Christmas.
  10. Welcome to the forums dude. No issues with mine for the last four years. Maybe dull blades burning up some wood? Pitch? Not sure dude. Having said that, she sounds like a banshee but I love that planer.
  11. I cannot say too much here except... My TXS feels super refined. Both are brushed motors. The grip on my TXS is much slimmer and the tool is very compact. The Festool TXS and CXS do NOT have an offset chuck. The Bosch and the Milwaukee (NAINA) have an offset chuck. The reason I got the Bosch is because of that chuck. Super easy to slide a tool into a narrow spot and get a screw in up close to the bottom of a counter top. I love that. I have the Fuel gen 2 M12 hammer and like that, the Bosch uses a pod style pack, not a huge fan because it really hams up the grip but I love Bosch tools. I am toying with selling my TXS but only because of that offset chuck. They make it for their other drills don’t know why my TXS doesn’t have one.
  12. I’m inclined to agree with Brian dude, because it was your Dad’s keeping it on the wall in the shop is going to inspire great memories and be a reminder. Getting a new 12v you can beat up a that will get the job done will allow you to keep that cool tool looking pretty for a looooooong time.
  13. Sorry guys they sold out after I bought my three they only had 8 left so I am hoping someone here got the score. Believe it or not I traded in my Tundra for a 2019 4Runner Limited and I will be putting one of these in the back for all of my truck straps and tools etc and another wil go in my cruiser for a bunch of tools I use on the job. I might take my extra small one and put road flares and first aid equipment in it. Hope somebody here scored!

  16. I got some bar clamps and an outfeed roller from the Portland Maine one. It was fun going to it and getting some pretty useful stuff for little money, Also got my Dad the pocket hole jig and he loves it.
  17. I run both Milwaukee and Dewalt in my shop. I tried like heck to go to one battery platform and now I have like five. I sold off all of my Milwaukee a while back because of a multitude of issues with the tools, great warranty but the way, I’m an expert with it. About two years ago I started to get off ball Milwaukee tools and not I have a 10” cordless miter, transfer pump etc. I love my Dewalt tools and in the USA I think the prices are pretty comparable. Problem is, neither of them make all of the tools I use,
  18. True, it’s pretty cool that all of their 18v tools share the Metabo batteries
  19. Boy I’d buy that thing corded all day! I have t heard anything though, have you heard of a cordless version?
