Gen 3 Fuel drill has me flabbergasted. Looks cool but wow, they really are reiterating quicker than ever in Brookfield. HO 6.0 and 12.0 look good. Super Sawzall makes me happy. I’ll need more info on table saw.

That’s my point; let’s see other stuff that other brands don’t have. Let’s see “disruptive innovation”. Cool stuff like the transfer pump, compact inflator, etc. that I can’t get in yellow, teal, etc. instead of making such a big push into areas they aren’t traditionally any good at. If they want to push into woodworking then I’ll be looking forward to NPS’21 when they get all the bugs out. Maybe I’m getting old and jaded, or I’m spoiled by having multiple brands of batteries but seeing an inferior red version of a product doesn’t excite me as much as seeing something Milwaukee does really well being updated to be even further ahead of the curve. Let’s not pretend Milwaukee hasn’t had their fair share of announcements-of-announcements. One Key being hyped to hell and back, and waiting basically a year for the 9.0. Their foray into woodworking has had one quality tool; the compact mitre, maybe their new sander. The idea of them making a table saw instills me with no confidence at all. I say this as someone who bought a gen 1 M18 blower and someone who was initially excited for the Fuel nailers. Gen 2 Hawgs or a new super Sawzall or stuff no one else has done better would be more exciting to me than any new M18 woodworking tools. Hopefully lots of M12 refreshes; the 12v segment is one of the things Milwaukee does right.

New circ saw has my attention but otherwise that list is a lot of catch up. Maybe we will see a Fuel Super Sawzall? 36v 6.0/12.0 orbital beast?

They better have more than all this catch-up planned.

Sounds like a lot of catch up. Even Hitachi is showing them how disruptive innovation is done.

How will they do that? They were talking last year of skipping 20700 cells and jumping to 21700s to leapfrog the industry. Dewalt’s 20v Max 3.0 compact and FlexVolt 4.0/12.0 both use 21700 cells. So...still more catchup from Milwaukee this year. At least everyone can look forward to a red chainsaw lol.

Pretty sure I could buy two dewalts for the price of one hybrid/charger Rocket though. At least in Canada, they’re a massive ripoff. The nice thing about the Dewalt is it has put the fear of God unto Milwaukee and the OG Rocket is now cheap as chips comparatively. Big price drop in crappy Canadian dollars.

The 2.0/6.0 batteries are a stopgap embarrassment regardless of tool. Flexvolt mitre is more powerful on batteries, I have no doubt. It isn’t limited by 15 amps of current. That saw has heaps of power.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was less considering the toughsystem music charge output is 1 amp.

The track saw is the best tool purchase I made last year, and I made some amazing tool purchases last year lol. It was my first Makita tool and now I’m a believer in what @kornomaniac preaches.

I have no complaints about the slides but don’t do a ton of steep bevels.

They’re cheap, lightweight, and a smaller footprint. Everything a DIY/hobbyist or finish guy would love. They’re quite popular. Especially since you can get multiple of them for the price of a single Systainer. I just recently started branching into TStak to compliment my piles of ToughSystem.

I love the idea of rails forward and the Makita apparently has great dust extraction. That said, I dislike that it’s battery only, I own and love the FlexVolt. The dust extraction and weight are it’s onky weaknesses.

So true. I keep hearing rumblings of yet another Dewalt framer update but haven’t seen anything concrete out there. Can’t believe media event season is nearly upon us again though. We could be mere months away from a new yellow framer. Or red ones even lol.

Tapcons are fine. Re:breaking a bracket...pretty sure I read that these were not intended for trailer setups, so having decent weight in them and then hitting a pothole could be problematic.

At one point people didn’t associate Nintendo with video games, or Tiffany’s with jewellery. Times change, perception changes with it. Your opinion of this tool is valuable in this thread, but your sample size of one makes it basically weightless where it concerns the mass marketability of this product. It’s not a gas replacement, and doesn’t seem to be meant to be one. Guys who need to cut less concrete are better served by having battery compatibility with their existing tools rather than a cordless Stihl which can be used to power... mitre saws? Table saws? Sawzalls? Drills? Anything outside of lawn equipment?

I use the stock FlexVolt for ripping down stuff I don’t care too much about. It’s a competent blade. I have a variety of Freud Industrial and CMT ITK for it. Be aware that the FlexVolt blades are stupid thin, so the Freud Industrial thin kerf will cut run time. Beauty blade though.

I’d argue this is a bigger gaffe than the table saw; that table saw does everything you’d want in a table saw short of run a dado stack. This seems much more limited.

Agreed @Framer joe, usually when I see them on site they are used by people trying to see how many causes of cancer they can rock out simultaneously 😂. Thsnks for clarification on the dust solution @Hugh Jass
